In 1922, the Coral Way corridor started development with citrus-lined streets. During this time, the area incorporated streetcar tracks in middle of the road to connect Coral Gables to downtown Miami. In 1929, the area began the roadside beautification program, which brought in 1,200 banyan trees along the center of Coral Way Boulevard. This beautiful neighborhood can be broken down into several sub-neighborhoods, and the demographic for this area has consisted of a large Latin American population for years.

Coral Gable Museum serves the Coral Way community. This museum provides a public plaza and multiple exhibits in a vintage coral-rock building. The Cuban Museum, a privately owned property, provides another cultural venue, with pre-Castro artifacts and a Cuban stamp collection. Art in this neighborhood can be found at Museo Historico Cubano — and even along the streets. Annual events include the Lebanese Festival and the GingerBuild Workshop.
