The first thing you will notice walking in are the beautiful red oak and fur hardwood floors that go throughout the entire house, including the kitchen. The floors are in terrific shape and immediately set the feel for the place. The floors combined with the natural wood finish trim like the crown molding, original window and door casings, and extra wide baseboards really adds to the charm and warmth of 13 Mitchell Place. There is nothing like these classic West Hartford apartments. You enter the apartment through the living room. This space gets drenched in natural light from the adjoining second-floor screened-in porch and multiple oversized windows. The porch has an original beadboard ceiling and screened windows and makes a great outdoor bonus space conveniently off of the living room. For three seasons, the porch is great to have the windows and door open which adds a nice breeze and expands the living room space. It’s also great for plants and flowers and morning coffee! Adjoining the living room is a formal dining room. This room could fit a large dining room table and hutch and has a terrific ‘pottery barn’ like light fixture. Both the living and dining rooms are open to each other, which makes a great open area to congregate or entertain. The best part of the apartment is the updated granite kitchen with lots of paneled cabinets for storage; a mosaic tile backsplash; an under-mounted stainless steel sink and fancy faucet, and all the appliances including a dishwasher. The kitchen could fit a small table or a prepping island which you can see in the picture. The kitchen cabinets all have crown molding and brushed nickel hardware. To top it off, the kitchen has a gas stove (which is not very common), a wonderful walk-in food pantry (once you live with a pantry like this, you will always want one), and a ceiling fan. Again, this room has two windows and nice natural light. Off the kitchen are two bedrooms and a full bath with tub. The house is walking distance to A.C. Peterson’s for unlimited fresh-made ice cream. You are just blocks to everything the Park Road business district has to offer like J. Rene’s coffee, which is some of the best coffee in the area. There is also the popular Plan B for burgers and bar and lots of great breakfast spots like Quaker Diner, Effie’s Place. You are about a five-minute drive to West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square. You are less than a mile to I-84 and 10 minutes to downtown Hartford.
