The northern Austin suburb of Highland has seen a lot of recent development in the last few years. What was once an area of mid-century homes and a mall has become a community of diverse housing options and is home to a vibrant community college campus. Solar panels are a common site on renovated ranch-style homes, as are a number of new apartment complexes.
You’ll find plenty of dining options on North Lamar Blvd., including poke, ramen, and the country cooking at Threadgill’s. The Linc is a popular open-air mall on the eastern border of the area that houses an upscale movie theater, big-box stores, and some popular local eateries too. The Highland campus of Austin Community College helped revitalize the area and adds to the area’s already highly-rated school system.
Highland has become an increasingly popular community due to the recent developments as well as the commute times. The drive to Downtown Austin takes just around 20 minutes with the I-35 and Airport Blvd.

Property Ratings at Ella Parkside
Looks nice on the outside, but is not maintained. The hallways are constantly covered with dirt, shared dog park is covered with waste and reeks of urine, and the pool area is never cleaned. Work requests are left incomplete, or the staff will enter your home without knocking or asking permission. It's disappointing to see a complex that looks so nice from the photos be so poorly maintained, with an unresponsive staff dismissing all concerns.

Elan Parkside is an outstanding community and neighborhood to reside in, in Austin, TX. The area is wonderful and the community of people living here are terrific. The neighborhood and surrounding area is a retro, urban, corner of Austin with newly developed apartments that are all very dog-friendly as a plus, with neighborhood coffee shops, a revamped community college, National Public Radio station, and a vibrant, young, professional and tech friendly environment to live and play in.

Elan Parkside is a very great community! The amenities are unmatched and the resort style pool is beautiful! All of the common spaces are kept very clean a well. The location of the complex is ideal and only a short drive to many awesome places in Austin, including downtown. The whole staff at Elan Parkside are always courteous and very helpful, and I couldnt imagine living anywhere else in Austin!

I've lived in this complex for almost 4 months and love it so far! The management team is always quick to respond to questions, and any maintenance issues I have are always handled promptly and professionally. My apartment seems to be extremely energy efficient, I pay a fraction of the price in utilities compared to other places I have lived where I was even splitting the cost with roommates. The location is great, very accessible to all parts of the city. I had a small roach problem when I first moved in - probably due to the heat of the summer, but I submitted a maintenance request and it was taken care of within a couple days and I haven't seen any roaches since then. The management team is also very attentive about letting the residents know when something is being worked on - main building boiler etc. And there are all sorts of great amenities. The apartment itself is very high quality, nice appliances, wood floors and high ceilings. It is quality workmanship and doesn't feel like a cheap item with a fancy cover. Overall, I've had a great experience living here so far.

From the start of the leasing process to my move in day Elan has been incredibly easy to work with. They were flexible with my move in date and were working diligently to help me find the perfect floorplan for me. Really cute and modern complex. Staff is great. However, if noise is an issue, make sure you clarify with the staff about that so you dont end up in a unit thats noisy.

Oh, I will spread the word that Elan Parkside and Greystar mislead people into renting apartments. I already tell potential renters that their actual resident experience will differ greatly than the one described or marketed to them before signing a lease.

Elan Parkside is right next to ACC Highland, which is why I moved here. Definitely the better option for being this close to campus.

Not sure how this property gets 5/5 stars when you read some of the resident reviews. I give this place 1/5 stars. Seems like someone skimped on construction costs here. Things may look nice in photos or at first glance, but that picture fades quickly.

It's a nice looking building, it's fair and decent location but not worth the money in my opinion. You hear bass coming through the walls of neighbors music/tv and every footstep from above, even the dog playing around, etc. Staff had issues with storing packages, so you either use fetch service or risk getting them stolen. Dog crap on the sidewalk. Over sensitive fire alarms waking us up at early hours of morning. Others facing the construction are not getting good night sleep.

Looking to treat yo self while living in a great location? EP is a stellar place to live, beautiful, energy efficient, updated, quiet, and full of community events. I am extremely pleased with my choice to stay at Elan Parkside. The location makes it easy to access both I-35 and Mopac. You are about 10 to 15 minutes from downtown and North Austin. The staff is AWESOME! And the apartments are nice and well maintained. Once all of the surrounding construction is completed, I have no doubt that the area will be one of the most sought after in Austin.

Parkside is one of the best communities I've ever lived in.
Elan Parkside is a clean, modern and comfortable apartment complex to live in located just north of downtown Austin, with wonderful views of the Austin city skyline. The only temporary issue is the construction surrounding the community. It limits the walkability of Elan Parkside. However, once these projects are complete, it is going to be an amazing place to live in and walk around! Hurry the construction up!

I've been a resident for 6 weeks and have had no major issues with the staff or other residents, so far. Staff are extremely pleasant and very helpful.
