Indian Acres is a friendly, delightful community that sits about four miles northeast of downtown Albuquerque. The weather is mild to hot and sunny nearly year round, and the surrounding landscape is a mix of urban, suburban, and developed desert. Cars abound, although Indian Acres is very flat, so it's both bikeable and walkable. Local buses are a good alternative for those looking for public transportation.
Downtown Albuquerque is also the main rail and transit hub for all of New Mexico. Homes for rent in Indian Acres are 11 minutes from Greyhound, Amtrak, and local surface lines, such as the Rio Metro Bus Service. The Grower's Market, also situated downtown and running between April and November, is where most locals go for local produce, groceries, live music, yoga, and doses of community spirit. City-sponsored softball is a huge plus for sports fans.

Move in was easy and fast, molly in the front office was really nice and made the experience awesome for us, our kids love their spacious rooms and can't wait to get in the pool now that it's open.
The apartments are roomy, but there's no type of ventilation through out the apartment..3bd that is. We have no air conditioning, what so ever, IDK what company does the "chiller system" but if you don't like to be sticky from your own sweat and any due to irritating hot temperatures inside of your home, I suggest you look at other places. These apartments are old with lipstick to appear nice. My kitchen looks like it's about to cave in on the tenants underneath me my entire kitchen dips in. It looks like the sink stove washing machine and fridge are all about to meet in the middle bcuz the floors are so damaged. And the ?? OMG, ugh I hate bugs and ugh I'm going freaking insane because they are coming from the chiller system, a non effective and cheap excuse for air conditioning, that runs thru my entire apartment,

Location is good, but nothing else is. Frequent water leaks require water to the entire property to be shut off (4 times just this month) for repairs , yet they charge extra for water per month.. The security gates often fail to close (the main entrance gate has been open for the past week). There are only 3 maintenance staff, although this is a large, 50-year-old property. Trash containers often overflow before being emptied, causing a problem on windy days. Heat to the property was turned off in mid-April, after which there were many days when temperatures at night dropped into the 40s but no heat provided.

Hello Peter, Thank you for sharing your concerns. Unfortunately, in order to complete necessary repairs and maintain the plumbing system for all residents, water shut-offs are sometimes unavoidable. We understand this is frustrating and do our best to keep disruptions as brief as possible. Regarding the security gate, we’ve reviewed the situation and confirmed that it is closing at night. Our maintenance team is working hard within the limitations they face, and we truly appreciate their efforts. In response to the trash concerns, we have increased pick-up to three times a week to help prevent overflow. Very peaceful never have had any problems with my neighbors it close to everything I need stores, restaurants doctors, dentists all within walking distance !!!

I've worked very hard to resolve the issues.One was the doors not being secured and vignorance frequently visiting our apartment complex. It took three years to get the doors fixed and three years to get a new security team hired. I've worked very hard with the community and the fire department and APD.It is to get rid of the vagrants that live behind the building. All it took was a couple of calls.And they have currently kicked them out.

The complex is quiet. Lots of friendly people and fur babies. The complex is usually very well maintained. The maintenance team are friendly and informative. The office staff are very nice and quick to respond to issues I may have.

I've been here for about 2 years now and I just signed another year lease. Every apartment community has their ups and downs either with their residents or with the staff here it's mainly residents when it comes to picking up after their animals the staff here is really nice they work with you and the maintenance is always on top of things as they can be I love my little cottage here!!! Plan on staying for a while ??

Nice neighborhood,the place quiet and safety .maintenance service very good ,one time my faucet in bathroom keep run water nonstop at 9:00 pm then I call phone he coming after 15 minutes fix right away quickly.Manager kindly to help when you need ..Anyway live here okay.

There are countless issues with these apartments. Constant water issues. You won't have hot water for days, sometimes you have no water at all, do to the constant water shut offs. Homeless people everywhere. Your car is not safe here, neither from break-ins nor from the predatory people they have patrolling the apartments. They can boot your vehicle at whim and you have no recourse of action. Either pay the fee or get towed. They act like they own the place and the apartment manager lets them because they get a kickback from the fees. The buildings are falling apart, it feels like you are going to fall through the floor. Even my tiny little self feels like I'm going to crash into the apartment below me. The maintenance is terrible, nothing gets fixed. Do yourself a favor and live under a bridge, you will have better amenities and service than you will get here.

Regarding the recent car break-ins, we understand how frustrating and upsetting this can be. While preventing theft can be difficult, we continue to work hard to counteract these problems. Our parking services patrol the property regularly, and as outlined in the lease agreement, vehicles that are found with expired registration or without a visible parking permit are subject to being booted or towed. Please know that management does not receive any kickbacks from this service. Additionally, we have not had any instances where a resident has fallen through their ceiling. We actually like living here. However, rent keeps going up, we don't get up to date calls on our issues and there's always trouble with the water. There's a lot of people becoming homeless due to the rent going up every year. We're blessed to have a place to live for now.

The apartment wasn’t really ready to be leased. This is my third week living here, and every single day, I’ve had to go to the office to request maintenance for something in my unit. I had a water leak in my bathroom sink, which prevented me from using the tap for 4 days. It took multiple requests before they finally sent someone to fix it. There are cockroaches in the apartment, and despite weekly pest control visits, the problem persists. Now, for almost two weeks, the entire complex has been without hot water. I’m beyond tired and incredibly frustrated at this point. It seems the management is neither responsible nor attentive to their tenants’ needs.

Desert Creek is a timeless apartment complex that has been in Albuquerque since the 1970's. The apartments are being upgraded with new carpet, paint, and flooring all the time as people are moving in and out. They are spacious for the price. Honestly, I love my apartment, management, and maintenance team. Oh yeah, the location is great too!!!

So far everything is good no problem really. Working on my first year here. The space in the appartment is good for a two bedroom apartment. All tho the appliance are a bit out dated but work well.

I like living here, I feel it is a safe community and my apt is the right fit for me and my dog. I like the convenience of the workout facility and the location of the apts is perfect for getting around Albuquerque!

We love our new apartment so much bigger then our last apartment. My son loves the carpet loves to run around and has his own room. We like how pest control comes more often and the office ladies are very helpful and polite. Only thing I'd say needs working is maintenance with fixing issues inside the apartments.

I'm disappointed in Desert Creek as a resident here that there is a cockroach infestation issue, heating/cooling issue/water shut off issue/water heating and cooling issues - the list feels ongoing with a new thing that pops up every couple of weeks. The maintenance team doesn't communicate what they have done when something is fixed in the apartment. They do not maintain a clean work area after they have "completed" their work in the apartment. Nothing is every truly "fixed."

Better live right now ,it is quiet apartment ,clean in hallway and manager very kindly help solved any problems .10 pm clocks security walking around check in for secure in road.

I love Desert Creek and the management. These are young people doing a great job with what they are dealt with. The apartments are old, but provide a nice place to live in spacious apartments. Rent for the size of the space is very low in my opinion.

The apartments need to be updated. The hallways and stairwells need to be updated. The doors and frames need to be replaced. The rent is way too high for the studios, especially with everything being outdated.

Desert Creek has been very helpful, informative, clear and concise with information and resources available to the renter. Everything necessary for moving in was perfectly crystal clear and very defined. No hidden messages or back fees. They also let me know if any updates going on with the apartment, and helped me get lower rates for my apartment before I moved in, giving me an incredible price per month for my place.

in my opinion I don't have any complaints about the community, the ladies in the office always try their best to meet everyone's need, the gym is amazing, the area around the apartments are quite nice to look at.

I’m happy with desert creek. It’s been a great experience so far. I wished the spa was open but other than that I have had no problems. I have had a few repairs here and there but they have sent out work orders and got someone here in a timely manner

No hot water, cockroach infestation with cockroaches in our bed when we sleep at night, AC doesn’t work. It has been a rough couple of months. Things aren’t getting fixed timely either.

Staff is friendly, however everything is always broken (hot water heater, electricity, fan, heat, air conditioning, and more.). Water is turned off every week due to some kind of maintenance. I have had two incidents were the resident above me flooded the apartment, so it came into my apartments causing leaks, damage, mold, and the removal of my ceiling fan and where my electrical outlet in my bathroom no longer works. I will not be renewing my lease unless I am able to move to a different apartment with upgrades such as a 1 br 1ba at the same price I am paying now, in leiu of all the issues that have occurred here during my stay.

Desert Creek is the only apartment complex that treated us like people when we were looking at apartments. It is one of a few apartment complex that does not have a crazy priced pet rent for large dogs. Just like everywhere else when rent goes up it is manageable they tell you way in advance to.

I have never been so stressed out with management at an apartment complex, I have lived in apartments most of my life and this by far the worst experience I have ever had at any apartment I’ve ever lived. I had been towed twice because the numbers on the reserved parking spaces were unable to be seen. My apartment gets flooded when it rains, the heating and cooling system is extremely out of date and it over flows with water cause of moisture and it doesn’t cool the house at all! The complex is infested with roaches I’ve been trying to kill them with a powerful roach gel poison that’s very expensive and it still doesn’t deter them, there’s mice! My neighbors are very inconsiderate, they barbecue in front of the apartment and don’t clean up after themselves, I’ve had my food orders stolen from my front porch. The neighbors hygiene is so bad it’s unbearable to walk passed them just to get to my apartment. I do not believe management is out for our best interest nor do they care about people’s living conditions.

We moved here this year. I was disappointed in the townhomes readiness however the management and staff were on top of things to get us settled in. I’ll never forget the excellent treatment to my wife and family as I was stuck in El Paso with Covid. They helped this move go smoothly and professionally. Every complex has their pros and cons but I can honestly say desert creek works hard to keep up with their residents and building maintenance. Thank you again!
