Property Ratings at Crestone at Shadow Mountain
We lived here for about 7 years. The complex changed ownership maybe twice in that time and Mission Rock did a pretty awful job in the end. We were recommended a cleaning service to use by them for our move out cleaning (Spruce) and they did basically nothing. We ended up getting charged $1500 on top of the cleaning fee we already paid, and several items on our list of charges were absolutely bogus. We paid a non-refundable security deposit to cover things that we were eventually charged with, so I suppose that deposit went down the drain as well. We tried contacting them to discuss the charges but never received a call-back and then they just sent it to collections. The apartments themselves are made poorly, using the cheapest, thinnest materials available. We reported several issues to management and maintenance that were never resolved, one of which being our front door not opening or closing properly so resident safety is of no concern to them. I don't recommend living here. Not while under Mission Rock anyways.
I lived there for over a year with constant maintenance issues. Communication with the office staff is terrible, forget about hearing back when leaving a message or email. The place is run down, windows in the apartments are paper thin, so expect your energy bills to be sky high. When I moved out I was charged a carpet wear fee, even though I didn't have any animals and documented the carpet was never installed correctly in the first place 3 months into my lease. If you smoke weed this is the place for you!! My neighbors smoked constantly and the smell would come through the walls so badly my clothes would smell. Complained to mgmt office, no effort ever made even though it's in the lease that you can't smoke inside. Besides cars being broken into, and the police present to arrest criminals daily, I wish that I had spent the extra few dollars to move somewhere else. RENTERS BEWARE - You'll regret it
Lived here since Jan 2020, great location, quite and clean grounds. Processed a transfer this week and Jessica was the best, prompt, professional and engaging. The whole team in the front office as well as grounds crew are excellent and responsive. I chose this complex due to it's proximity to the highway and a huge park with a bike trail. Also walking distance to Shadow Mountain trails.
Lovely surroundings with lush green spaces and trees. Friendly and responsive office staff (Sherry and Jessica). Serene and peaceful atmosphere.

We were happy when we first moved here but over the years, our experience has drastically declined. The management team was great when we first signed and then it was horrendous. Now there is a new team and we haven't had much interaction with them. Sometimes they respond to issues and other times they don't respond at all. The maintenance team is fairly lazy when it come to repairs and following directions. There are often areas and amenities that require more maintenance than they currently receive and there are many areas which are not maintained at all. The dumpsters are used by the landscaping crew and accumulate a lot of trash and furniture when people move in or out (leaving large items like this is against the rules). The community is noisy. Lots of people blasting music, slamming doors, kids screaming at all hours of the day and there are no policies in place or none that are enforced to relieve this issue. I honestly cannot wait to move out of this complex. There are always issues that remain unresolved and it is frustrating to be a resident who follows the rules watching everyone else break them. Additionally, the cost of rent is outrageous for the amount of trouble there is in the complex. Not worth the cost at all

Do not rent here, nobody is ever in office to help address issues! And if they are they just simply say, thats our policy.You are just another person to collect money from. So sad from time I moved in to now this property is completely unprofessional and incompetent!

I moved in a newly renovated unit and have have had nothing but issues with the unit itself and dealing with management. Management is rude, no one is on the same page, and I have been lied to on multiple occasions. They do not care about the needs of the tenants, they portray a friendly helpful face upon move in but pay little attention to issues once moved in. Do not recommend moving in!??

I love living at Crestone, particularly I enjoy that my neighbors are friendly and mostly quiet- the whole community seems to be. The landscaping is so pretty and many neighbors including myself enjoy sitting outside- I believe the aesthetic of the community contributes greatly to this. The apartments are great quality for the price, maintenance is timely and quick to respond. Office staff is very nice and professional, I always feel heard if I have ever had a concern. When my lease was up recently, I had the opportunity to move away to have a rooomate- after viewing other options, I just couldnt do it- I am beyond happy that I stayed with Crestone and will be staying here until Im ready to buy a home.

I tried reaching out to this complex a week ago because I am looking for an apartment in the area. Some woman named Cat was supposed to send me some information and never called me back or emailed me. I kept trying to reach the complex since then and no one would answer the phone. I tried emailing them from their website and no one returned my email. I spoke to Johnny yesterday who was supposed to send me info and never heard from him (his computer was also not working and said he'd get back to me today). He didn't. I kept calling all day and Jonny finally answered the phone, said he'd send me the info I requested and only sent part of it. That sends me some serious DO NOT RENT HERE signals, so I crossed them off my list. Waste of my time!!!

Staff have always been so friendly, communicative, and prompt in responding to maintenance requests and other questions. The neighbors Ive experienced are very helpful and nice. The area is quiet, I love living here. I have not had any issues with staff, the apartment, bugs, or anything else- I will probably stay here quite a while!

I am a school bus driver. I leave early in the A.M. and sometimes come home late at night after field trips. Better out side lighting would be awesome-especially for women. dropping students off at other apart complexes they have play grounds for the kids, a all porpusr sport court where people can play : Basketball, roller hockey, tennis, . that would be nice to have here

Ive lived in Crestone for less than a year and I love this place! It has a great sense of community, landscape is kept up very nicely being lush and green, and they are super pet friendly which is a huge plus! My neighbors, the management staff, and maintenance team are all very kind!
