Property Ratings at Creekwood
Living at Creekwood has been a pleasant experience, and I’ve seen great improvements since I first rented in 2022. Security cameras, fresh paint, and clean floors have made a noticeable difference, and the amenities are well-maintained. What truly sets Creekwood apart, however, is the staff. The team is extremely courteous and supportive, and I want to especially recognize Ms. Marlene and Mr. Jessy for their dedication. They consistently go above and beyond to resolve issues quickly and effectively, at any time of day, and their professionalism is one of the main reasons I choose to renew my lease. While the community continues to improve, overall, I truly value the progress that has been made and the exceptional staff who make Creekwood feel like home.
Location is good, but management is not. A lot of break ins to cars and personal belongings stolen off balcony
I enjoy being a resident of this community. If I could stay here forever I would.
Mas atencion a los gates y puertas de entrada porque seguido no cierran
I have been a resident of Creekwood Apartments for iver 9-years. Overall, it has been a lovely experience, the area is in a beautiful area close to lots of shopping and the staff is always cheerful and helpful. I would like to point out, again, that I am still using the countertop microwave I was forced to purchase in June of 2021, after the firmer manager, Trisha, renegged on her promise to deliver a new microwave, and instead, had maintenance bring over four (yes 4) damaged, broken, oil-filled, for me to choose from. The one that was left here was full of, and leaking, cooking oil (sucked up by vent fans?) which would affect anything I tried to cook. The inside if the door was broken, so they filled it in with black caulk? and they GLUED the top vent cover on as the clips were broken off. It has remained UNplugged since July 1, 2021. I report this every year, but sadly, still no new microwave. Other than that, I have no complaints.
Creekwood Apartments are a hidden gem. I have been calling it my home for a few years now. The proximity to all establishments including restaurants and public transport and places is unbeatable. In addition, any time I have faced any issues, the management and the maintenance team have ensured that all my concerns are addressed as soon as possible. The staff is highly professional and courteous. Thank you, team Creekwood for everything!
It’s a nice community with rich resources and easy access to necessary day to day needs! Close to beautiful nature view!
If there was any where I could live it would be here at Creekwood. Very nice. Unexpected treasures (walking trails, Japanese Garden, deer, creeks, parks, and etc.) around the property.
I lived at Creekwood for about 1.5 years, and my experience was marked by ongoing issues. Here’s an honest account of the challenges: Security and Parking Incidents I had multiple packages stolen, and despite notifying management, the issue persisted with no plan for better surveillance or secure delivery. My car was hit in a hit-and-run, and when I requested security footage, management was unhelpful. Additional parking lot break-ins occurred, highlighting the need for more security measures. Noise and Pet Problems There was no oversight of pet behavior. Many dogs barked for hours, starting early in the morning, and some urinated in stairwells. One neighbor left dog poop in the indoor hallway near my door, and despite complaints, management did nothing. I had to call animal control and police for a wellness check due to suspected abuse and safety concerns. Unexpected Fees I was charged extra fees for miscalculated utilities, adding about $50 to my monthly utilities. I was also charged a $250 fee for not renewing my lease, adding to the financial burden. Laundry Room Issues The shared laundry facilities were poorly maintained, with broken machines being the norm. I’ve had negative encounters with other residents, and the recent price increase made using the laundry service more frustrating. Overflowing Trash Areas The area near the trash bins became a dumping ground for furniture. Trash and recycling bins were often overflowing and left on the curb for days after collection. Poor Unit Renovations and Building Maintenance We moved into a newly renovated unit, but the upgrades were poorly done. Our fridge doors didn’t seal properly, sinks lacked drain stoppers, and light switches didn’t work. The complex also had rusty pipes leaking in the parking garage and frequent water shut-off notices with little warning. Neglected Gym and Pool The gym had broken equipment for months, and the pool was often shut down. The lack of communication about repairs or reopening timelines made these amenities difficult to enjoy. Unresponsive Management Management was unresponsive. It takes days to reach someone via email or phone, and walk-in visits to the leasing office were not allowed. Communication was a low priority for management. Conclusion I cannot recommend this complex to anyone seeking a comfortable living experience.
Creek wood can be maintained better than it currently is. Also, management should prioritize responses to residents from the resident portal and any other communication method.
Creekwood has been the best renting experience I've had in the Bay Area. I've rented all over since 2008 and this is by far my most pleasant experience. The amenities and comfort I've gained from this place far exceed any minor issues I've had with my experience so far. The maintenance has been responded to in a timely manner and the staff have been helpful and accommodating. Overall I am very happy here.
I have rented all of my life and I consider Creekwood to be tops. I think highly of the management company (Greystar) and its mission statement.
There just needs to be better security around. My car was broken into once and also damaged from a tire slash from parking outside.
Creekwood is a nice place to live. They do their best best to keep areas clean for the residents. Do their best to communicate with residents and try to accommodate to your wishes as best as they can.
The amazing community, and staff are kind and courteous. The community is clean and beautiful. I love it here!!
Creekwood Apartments used to be a very nice place to live, but over the years it has become very deplorable with people having screaming matches and yelling, loud music blaring from cars with screeching tires, mirrors in hallways destroyed and shattered by the unknown, car windows smashed and items stolen from cars. The list is long and endless.
Creekwood is a calm apartment community ima great location that's close to freeways and downtown area. Floor plans and look of apartment are great and spacious !
Nice and quiet community. Nice size apartment and balcony.
I would not recommend a apt complex that does not communicate effectively or efficiently and my experience is just so no communication given or follow up to issues at Creekwood and if you do get feedback and complain of the delay you will be met with contradiction and sarcasm NO PROFESSIONALISM at all.
Incomplete work! Work orders does not get done…..elevators not reliable..
A wonderful community, in a wonderful location, that is horribly managed.
Great facilities and community, inconsistent and occasionally troubling management.
Don’t stay here if you like cleanliness and being able to go to sleep at a decent time.
All my requests have always be taken care of by the management. Team is very courteous and helpful. The property is often going through upgrade projects to make it more modern. I love living at Creekwood as it is quiet and tucked away. I appreciate its approximately to shops and activities.
I enjoy living at Creewood Apartments. I like that is quite and peaceful. This is a nice place to live, other than the cats in the parking garage and pet hair in the washers.
I am the longest running tenant here. The present management, while far from perfect, is much better than any of the previous managements since the original Zaballos owners.
Best maintenance team! Really friendly and efficient!!
I have lived at Creekwood Apartments for approximately 7-years now. There are many upgrades to the buildings, individual units, and the like, going on, to create an even better living experience for the residents. The management and maintenance staff are awesome and always make me feel welcome and take care of any concerns or needs I have regarding my residence or the surrounding area. The grounds are kept very nice and it is just a beautiful and relaxing place to live. I like all the close-by local shops and restaurants and there is a senior center and Japanese gardens right behind my building. It is just relaxing and I love all the beautiful trees (especially the tall redwoods right outside my balcony). I really think this is one of the nicest places I have lived and I plan to be here for many years to come.
Since we have moved in we have enjoyed it compared from our old place. It is very peaceful. People are nice and most likeable is seeing the nature of different animals and see the creek water running thru real nice in beautiful weather and in stormy weather.
Creekwood is a tucked away treasure in the middle of a busy city of Hayward. I hardly hear any road noise or loud noise at night. It’s very calm and quiet. The staff is very responsive and respectful. The maintenance team is prompt, courteous and resourceful. I have found Creekwood to be one of the most customer friendly and accommodating apartments experience. Thank you.
If you like bugs and maintenance requests being ignored, this is the place for you

Terrible. They have not fixed any issues I have addressed with them. The response time is non existent. I always have to call multiple times to get any answers to my questions. And the overall maintenance of the pool area is awful. They removed the furniture for repairs and have not placed it back. So it's just tossed around randomly.

Nice place to live when I moved in around 2008. Experience has declined in recent years, particularly after each successive purchase of the property.

The environment is wonderful. Not only the leasing staff is professional and kind, but also residents in the community are friendly. This place is very close to downtown Hayward and many good restaurants are within walking distance, not to mention Safeway is super close, so very convenient.

I have enjoyed living here the past several years. It is a good location in a beautiful setting. That said, maintenance, throughout the years has been substandard or non-existent and I have had to hire outside assistance for repairs more than a few times, which is not cool. Also, building does not get lobby or hallway floors vacuumed or mopped regularly. Way too many people smoking in building still, and I am on a ventilator, so, that's not great. But, like I said, I like my view from my window, and like the location. Front Office staff/mgmt. is pleasant and helpful.

We moved from New York to Creekwood and we were really confident during our move that we were coming into a great apartment, and definitely were not disappointed once we got here! The apartment is beautiful, and our balcony has trees growing in front of it that make it pretty private. Overall its been a great experience!

My apartment was not ready at all. Multiple issues. Kept getting the run around and no follow up regarding the issues. The bathroom was not in working condition: water running, couldnt turn the water off, sink stopped up, toilet would not flush. Bathroom was filthy like they hadnt cleaned it since last tenants moved out. I went almost 2 weeks without a bathroom. Blinds were filthy or broken and not changed, no screens/ holes in screens, base boards cracked up, missing closet doors, missing string for ceiling fan, sliding doors jam, plus many more. The apartment was NOT ready yet they took my money order around 4pm right before the office closed.

I was prepared for the worst. I’ve seen lots of videos and “horror stories” of what new tenants found when they first moved in. I bought lots of cleaning supplies and was ready to do lots of work. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Everything was cleaned. There was not even dust on the floor or counter tops. I shampooed the carpet and the water came out really clean. Love this area. Love the views. I am happy we chose this apartment complex
I literally scoured the Bay looking for affordable, clean, convenient housing. I found Creekwood. The property is well maintained and the community is quiet. What’s most notable was the great customer service I got from the front office. Em, Angelica and Mai are awesome! Now if they would only offer free pizza and beer on Fridays.
Over the last 10 years, I've lived in 7 different apartments around the country, owing to the need to travel for work. This is easily the worst. The management at Creekwood seemingly has no interest in the property beyond signing new tenants. The property is poorly maintained. Laundry facilities are often out of order. Gym equipment is also half broken (one treadmill has been out of service for at least 3 months and despite multiple reports, no action has been taken). The smell of pet waste will frequently greet you as soon as you walk out the building. The location, as stated by a previous reviewer, is unsafe. There is frequently police activity in the area, and the abandoned building across the street is a hive of unsavory types. We have had our car broken into, despite being parked in the secure garage on-site. Neighbors are aggressive, and many apartments are overstuffed with tenants who are not on the lease. Expect many requests at all hours for access to the building for people -- who may or may not live here -- who don't have keys. Dogs. Howling, crying, barking dogs at all hours of the day and night. Again, no action is taken. All of this for a price that feels insulting when compared to the experience. Under no circumstances should anyone with the means and flexibility to go elsewhere choose this apartment complex. You will regret it. We plan on leaving with several months still left on our lease.
The apartments are across the street from a high rise that has been abandoned for decades (aka: the city center building). Unstable mentally ill people have taken to calling the abandoned building home. Some of those people walk onto the Creekwood property including parking lots near the leasing office DURING BUSINESS HOURS and they shout obscenities/lewd comments at passerby's. A handful of them will also crash in front of the entrance steps to the apartment buildings at night. In passing, a fellow resident shared that they saw one of the notoriously sketchy dude living in the old building steal a bike from the Creekwood property. Police are called to the building at least twice a week and the building is literally ACROSS. THE. STREET. FROM. CREEKWOOD. The apartments are also near a creek/trail, which seemed appealing at first. I soon found out that the creek/trail is also home to unstable and homeless individuals who also consistently shout racial slurs/generally harass you as you pass. Some of the residents are so loud 24/7 and the walls are paper thin. You can't get a call back from management. They seem scattered whenever you try to talk to them. They try to rush you out the door when you ask to speak with them. The rent is comparable to housing in Oakland/Berkeley, but the apartment units are a bit nicer on the inside than what you would get in Oakland. However, given the lack of managerial response, safety issues re: the abandoned building, and obnoxious neighbors, shouldn't the cost of living in these apartments be lower?
