Hugging the Congaree River and stretching east, Columbia is a sprawling city with a history dating back to colonial times. Nicknamed the "Capital of Southern Hospitality," Columbia is a welcoming, warm city -- it is also a college town, home to the University of South Carolina. The university is located downtown, covering over 359 acres. The historic, top-ranking university dates back to 1801, but the oldest structure in Columbia is the Seibels House, built around 1796. It currently serves as a house museum.
While there's plenty for college students to do, Columbia provides a variety of activities -- whether you're a golfer, a shopper, or a foodie. Kid-friendly activities are everywhere, from the gorgeous parks to the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. The downtown district provides a variety of shops and restaurants along brick-paved sidewalks, and the river and nearby lakes provide opportunities for boating and fishing.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Creekside at Greenlawn Apartment Homes
The apartments are in good condition, management is reasonable, and overall there is a lot of good going for this place. This is especially true given the good location if you work in Columbia. The staff will hear your concerns and are willing to address them. We have lived here for almost two years and have only had a couple of issues, which in my experience, you can’t beat.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are glad to know that you have enjoyed our community and that our team has been responsive to your needs.
I love my apartment. I think the carpets in the hallways need updating outside of that I have no complaints.
Property Manager at Creekside at Greenlawn Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
We are thrilled to hear that you love your apartment! Thank you for sharing your feedback about the hallway carpets. We will be sure to pass it along to our maintenance team.
The property is very much designed to look much nicer than it actually is. Common areas are filthy, doors that are supposed to be locked do not lock at all, call boxes are broken, there is only one (two at most) maintenance worker (who do the best they can) management’s only interest is squeezing more money out of their already-overpriced property. For example, they are converting previously-free parking spaces into paid, “reserved” ones. The management here is shockingly incapable. People regularly ignore the valet trash and pet rules causing everything to be filthy and management’s only solution is to send unprofessional emails that nobody reads. They also pass everything off on an already-overworked and understaffed maintenance team. Cleaning common areas? Make maintenance do it. Got a noise complaint? Call maintenance. You’d better hope you can coordinate a package delivery — the leasing office will send your package back to sender without a second thought. It really makes you wonder what the leasing office is paid to do. Pay close attention to the units. Baseboard moldings are poorly done and are irregular. Towel racks are cheap and poorly installed. You will constantly hear your neighbors. There is a layer of luster put over everything in this complex to hide the ugly truth. If you care about amenities you might find those to be somewhat redeeming. There is a pool and fitness center. Be prepared to drive everywhere and deal with not-great traffic. It isn’t the worst location but it is just not worth it with a management team that clearly shows up to collect a paycheck and then goes home. Spend your rent money somewhere that actually functions like it is supposed to.

I wrote a review two years ago about cockroaches and yes there are still cockroaches..the agency continues to use tactics to deflect blame from themselves. I have seen them be unhelpful to people they don’t like so to stay in good graces I have stayed away from them all together ...I reviewed my lease and realized they have me in a 13 month lease and when I brought it to their attention they said you signed it so if we made a mistake and you didn’t catch it there’s nothing we can do ...obviously they collected the rent on tine for 3 years with no complaints about me as a tenant and all I get is a sorry you didn’t catch it .....I’m glad I’m moving
My boyfriend and I moved in to Creekside around 2 weeks ago, and so far it’s been really wonderful. The staff has been unbelievably helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process (since we were just looking to prior to move in to move in day and after). The apartment is beautiful and has everything we wanted. Fixtures and details are very nice, the unit was very clean when we moved in, and the building and community are all very well-kept. I have nothing but positive things to say so far about this community. Already feels like home, we’re looking forward to at least a few years here!
After my previous review of this property I was contacted by the managers to clarify my statements and provide statements for growth to them moving forward. It was refreshing to see managers with a desire to learn from the experiences of the resident. I appreciated the opportunity to discuss the presiding blame game tactics my self included and work towards a common bond. is there work to be done yes...does this company take their job and responsibility to the residents seriously yes...so all in all we are working to resolve some issues and it has given me a better outlook of this property.
My husband, daughter and I moved to Creekside last July and couldn't be happier with our apartment that has become home. We moved into the first building built with ease. My husband had just returned from deployment the weekend before our move. I couldn't have been more satisfied with Soda City.. We had all of our stuff ready and moved to the front area to speed up the process and we didn't have to pay a thing! Which was great, because often times the wait is a bit longer through military moves. ?? The staff has always been more than friendly and helpful, while our apartment hasn't had ANY issues, our fridge light did start to dim, but was addressed same day, and preventative maintenance is on point! We never have to ask for an AC filter change and the grounds always look so clean. Like I said I LOVE living here! It's quiet and the fitness center-so terrific I should be more fit! Ha ha! One of my very favorite part of Creekside is packages. We get a text when we have a package! Since we are Amazon junkies-totally a perk! Creekside is a brand new property and that means some things take time-I know that the fifth building is still being built. Creekside is the prettiest property you can find in this area and so quiet! We recently gave notice to move, as my husband is in the Army.. We are excited for change, but sad to leave our apartment, since we have literally fallen in love with the staff and community! We will be sure to recommend to others looking to move! So! In closing-this really is the place if you want brand new, quiet, but still near so much!
This is a great place. Very centrally located to things. Short commute to FT. Jackson, McEntire and Shaw AFB. A great pool and two propane grills.
