My husband and I have been living here for almost three years. We have loved it! The management team is always happy to help with any questions or issues that arise. Maintenance requests are placed on their online portal and typically addressed the same day! I love having 24hr access to the gym. The pool is a great amenity in the summer and larger than most other apartment pools I’ve seen. It’s also within walking distance to downtown and ATC which we love. They also have not raised our rent once! I would highly recommend Cortland Bull City!

I really enjoy living here! The front office staff is wonderful. I feel very secure in the building and garage and love being able to host events in the community spaces. The interior of the apartment is pretty nice and comparable to other buildings in Downtown Durham.
I enjoyed every day with the gorgeous sunset view and the amazing greenery that I was looking for! Every part of the complex gave me an amazing view of Durham, which made me love living here even more. The staff was so helpful, and Megan, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure nice accommodations. I highly recommend it as the best place to live in downtown Durham.

This community seems great the amenities are nice and its proximity to downtown means most of what you need is within walking distance. The community is always clean and has a very nice smell unlike most hotel style apartment complexes. The staff is super friendly and always seem willing to help. The only warning I have is half of the EV chargers are broken not an issue for most people but if you own an EV and rely on home charging it is definitely something to look into
The management is very nice, but there are multiple issues that they do not address well. Small examples include a dysfunctional package delivery system, broken door handles on fire doors that aren't fixed, and most annoyingly, a garage door that frequently breaks. At this time, it has been broken for 4.5 months, and the attempts at fixing it have only broken other things. This led to lots of car break-ins and non-tenets wandering the building, once with a weapon. Nice building, but for the price, the management needs to do better at upkeep.

Unfortunately, when working with vendors we do have to rely on their schedule and workmanship. Unfortunately, we have had several unforeseen delays due to manufacturing issues with parts. Regarding crime in our area, we have implemented third party security for several months now as well as working with Durham PD and are happy to say that this has been quite effective. The overall experience of living here is quite nice. Amenities and staff are all great. However, the electric wiring for the apartments is awful. Having overhead lights on AND a few things plugged in? Forget it - you'll trip the circuit breaker. Want to play videogames and see your surroundings? Nope. Use the fan in your bedroom, have some lamps on, charge your phone? Way too much to ask.

My husband and I are extremely pleased with Cortland! One of the nicest things has been that when we’ve placed a maintenance request, the maintenance team comes by that same day! They even help with things like replacing the water filter in the fridge and unclogging the shower drains. I always feel very safe here which is important for me.

I have really enjoyed my time at cortland apartments so far. I love having quiet study areas, a swimming pool, grill, gym, and fire pit. The office personnel are very quick to respond anytime I need something done in my apartment. I also love that there's a little dog park for my dogs to socialize with the other dogs around. Overall, I've had a good experience.

If the interior cleanliness was prioritized, than Bull City would be a five-star residence. As is, I would rate more a 3-star.
Cortland is needlessly expensive. The apartment is nice and I enjoy its features, but the cost is excessive. There is no contact from management and they are difficult to reach. Packages are sometimes left in the common area, unattended. There is trash left out in the hallways. The free parking is nice. The staff is very kind on the few times I've seen them.
This place has been great. Brand new, friendly staff, great residents, very pet-friendly. Highly recommend.
The staff is great to work with, Kennedy is super personable and helpful! All of our housing needs are met in this beautiful new build. Amenities are wonderful and social events are fun.
Cortland Bull city is overall an average apartment to live in. Its in an okay location since most of the nightlife is on the other side of downtown. Roughly a 20 minute walk. The physical apartments are amazing. The kitchens are massive and the balconies are magnificent. The finishes are classy and the color scheme is modern. However, for the general community there is a severe lack of events (no resident events since Ive lived here and none on the horizon), security issues, and general improvements that need to be addressed.
Cortland Bully City is a beautiful building with beautiful apartments! The community spaces are so thoughtfully designed and are a pleasure to use. Best of all, the staff is incredibly friendly and quickly responds to any issues!
Cortland Bull City is the best choice to live in Durham. Everything from the staff to the building is thought out. I appreciate all the amenities they offer. We have little details like a coffee machine and ice-maker, which make us feel at home. The bar is huge and perfect to have friends over. I love the distribution of my apartment. It feels bigger than a studio.
If youre looking for any amazing city-living experience, Cortland Bull City is where you need to be. The location is walking distance to some of my favorite spots in Durham. The apartment building, units, and amenities are beautiful. This is the best living experience Ive ever had.

Cortland Bull City is a fantastic modern apartment in an urban environment. The community has outstanding, clean amenities and is staffed with team members who are not only friendly but genuinely want to foster a sense of community. I couldn't recommend it more!
I love my apartment and my view of the city! The staff here is great and always so helpful and informative which is great because I am new to the area so having a resource in the leasing office that can direct me to some local establishments is really cool. Also, the walkability of this place to so many cool spots is amazing. I'm always exceeding my 10,000 daily steps goal and my dog is enjoying it too! Highly recommend.
While my priorities for a living space included spacious kitchens and nice amenities, I wanted more than just a place to live. I wanted a community. I was moving to a new city for a new job and living by myself. I'm so happy I chose Cortland Bull City because from day one it felt like home. The team has made me feel welcome, safe, and valued as a resident. They always greet me with smiles and ask if I need help with anything, even if it's just carrying boxes up to my apartment. I was also worried about making friends while living alone but the community events are so fun and I connected with several people that I now call friends. The apartments are also the perfect mix of walking distance and slightly removed from downtown Durham so that I can engage with downtown activities if I want but don't have to deal with lack of parking and city noises. It's my perfect little corner of the world and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Cortland Bull City apartment is highly recommended for everyone who is looking for a place to stay! They have a great, friendly and very helpful office staff!

The team at Cortland Bull City is incredibly responsive to its residents! Whether it's getting a maintenance technician in to fix something or helping out with a package or communicating clearly and consistently around COVID updates, they're awesome and super nice people!
Cortland Bull City is wonderful!! The apartments and amenities are all really nice. The management is also excellent. They care a lot about the residents and handle any concerns raised promptly and respectfully. I am very happy living here.
Broadstone has gorgeous kitchens, huge closets, and details you’d find in custom homes, like a coat nook with bench. The common spaces are amazing, really pretty, and there’s even an art studio! We love it!
I moved into the Broadstone a few days ago and LOVE it already: 1) The staff is incredible and so friendly & helpful. Monica & Carrie go above and beyond to answer all my questions, help me figure out my hot water, and fix maintenance issues immediately. 2) The amenities are so elegant and functional. I cannot wait to utilize the game room (pinball, basketball, pacman, etc), beautiful lobby with baby grand piano for fancy events, terrace cafe for dinners with friends, maker space for crafts and painting projects, conference/quiet rooms for when I work from home, large pool deck positioned perfectly for all day sunshine, and sophisticated gym. I have toured every apartment in Durham and Broadstone has the nicest amenities, by far. 3) My apartment itself is the most "homey" layout I have seen in Durham to date. My favorite parts are the built in mud room, large kitchen island, and massive closets and patio. 4) Location is prime. Previously I lived right next to the highway, train track, and Fayetteville Street where gunshots were a daily occurrence. Broadstone is much more centrally located and just a block away from the Durham Bulls stadium, American Tobacco Campus, Brightleaf Square, and Main Street. 5) Broadstone is also extremely well connected to the local Durham community, and I'm so excited to participate in their events around the city at local bars, farmer's market, and sporting events!
After several years working in Research Triangle Park, you couldn’t have paid me to consider Durham as a viable place to live. Fast forwards a few years later, and I’m blow away by the buzz and development. Downtown Durham is the overlooked gem of NC.
