Located six miles west of downtown Cleveland along Lake Erie’s southern shore, Lakewood, Ohio offers renters a strong selection of apartments — from units in historic walk-up buildings, to modern high-rise towers along the “Gold Coast”. Beyond apartments, you’ll also find duplexes and single-family homes in quieter tree-lined neighborhoods.
Walkable commercial corridors, like Detroit Avenue, put restaurants, cafés, boutique shops and neighborhood services within reach. Cultural amenities include the Beck Center for the Arts and the Lakewood Public Library, while lakefront access at Lakewood Park and its well-known Solstice Steps provide scenic outdoor space.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Commodore Club Apts
Management is awful. They entered my unit on more than one occasion with absolutely no notice. Denied that they entered despite leaving equipment in the unit and being caught on my security camera. They charged me late rent every month on their resident portal despite rent being paid on time they are scammers. Blamed hot showers on a leak in the ceiling then never answered calls when the leaks got worse.
Property Manager at Commodore Club Apts, Responded To This Review
New management has taken over, I assure you no one enters units unless it is an emergency, and you are notified. Maintenance is also mush better and on top of things. You are charged late fees if your rent is paid past the 5th of the month.
I have looked at many apartments and buildings and by far this is the cleanliest and friendliest building. I was welcomed in with a great lobby with current tenants that were very friendly and helpful. The property manager is great and very helpful and knowledgeable. Units are well taken care of.
Do not recommend. The price may be alluring for the area but do not be fooled. Maintenance does the best they can but are understaffed and have to pay for all materials out-of-pocket. Management is non-existent and will basically tell you to move out if you have any problems, especially concerning the lease. Speaking of which, the lease is by-yearly and rent increases seem to vary by apartment. They do not appear to be based on market research and in fact seem to be just management seeing what they can get away with before forcing you out. In addition, management only gives you a week or less to sign lease renewals or they will consider you for eviction. If you are considering moving here, don't. Save your time and look elsewhere. If you are deadset on it because it is near the Metroparks, at least talk to people in the building first, especially concerning rent and management.
Property Manager at Commodore Club Apts, Responded To This Review
We have new management, and the maintenance team is A1. The property manager is in the office and available by text message anytime. You are given a 60 days' notice to sign your new lease, and it must be signed at the end of the 1st 30 days.
Building is nice, but property manager is extremely unprofessional & rude. They couldn't pay me enough to move in!
I moved hear 7 years ago its a excellent apartment complex owner,s do a excellent job maintence man and Cleaning lady always do a wonderful job I still I,m very happy hear its a excellent apartment that is a great value
I lived here 2012-2013 and I got bed bugs from a neighbor. They refused to hire a professional and they wouldn't let me break my lease. DO NOT move here unless you want your bed and furniture ruined.
this building, although kept up pretty well, has bedbugs. They refuse to hire a professional exterminator, and it has been an ongoing problem for at least three years.
The family owned, mid-century built, excellently maintained Commodore Club Apts. have spectacular views of the Metropark and Rocky River Marina. Equally as important, though is the quality of life here. The reasonable rent, spotless laundry room and quiet, respect of neighbor tone set by the owners has made it a place where a vibrant mix of faces, ages, genders and families can all call it home.
