The city of Williamsburg is like stepping back in time. Well, in the historic district anyway. Founded in 1632, many of the settlement’s original structures still stand today as museums – all of Duke of Gloucester Street is a living history museum.
Because of its long-standing historical significance, tourism has a huge presence in Williamsburg. Other attractions that make up this fully-progressive city include Virginia’s oldest winery as well as a botanical garden.
The College of William and Mary, the nation’s second-oldest school, resides in Williamsburg. Its campus is in walking distance of historic sites, award-winning restaurants, taverns, and boutiques.
Williamsburg residents enjoy a plethora of conveniences, including direct access to major roadways and public transit. For those who enjoy golf, the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course is minutes away from town.

Property Ratings at Clinton Gardens
These outdated simple apartments have some good facilities, however, they have several serious downfalls. First and foremost are notices. Most apartment complexes give you at the very least a week's notice before paving, lawn care, or other normal maintenance care. However, at Clinton Garden Apartments, they will give you notice of such things in less than 24 hours prior to such activities. This maybe doesn't seem so cumbersome until a notice is given the night before that at 7 am cars will be towed at the owner's expense if they're not moved from the specified area. The expenses. It's like a college dorm. You have to pay to do laundry. You're already paying rent and utilities. They mask the cost of living by adding all these additional fees. There are shrubs around the walkways which looks great when their groomed. Sometimes getting into the apartment is like being swallowed by a radioactive beast plant because they are far behind in maintenance (more than 12 months behind). An though it's nice to be set back in the greenery, due to the holes in the walls and cracks in doors and windows, many creepy crawler unwelcome guests join you for breakfast, lunch and dinner regardless of how clean your apartment is. Office staff-- I'd like to meet an office staff that is willing to HELP me with my problems rather than accuse me of OTHER things that I'm sincerely not guilty of while I'm trying to take care of another issue. I understand the office knows a lot of their tenants (it is nice to be known), but they think they recognize everyone. That is not the case and mistaken identity is frustrating when it leads to notices, fees, or reprimands. Furthermore, when I called to get an example of the lease before applying (with the $40 fee), I was told that I would first have to apply for an apartment. Understanding what the apartment complex expects of its tenants and what tenants should expect from their landlords should be something discussed prior to applying. Additionally, their have been several issues involving police. Lastly, while it's nice to have a pool, the pool is left UNCOVERED and FULL all year round. I'm not sure that's sanitary or chemically safe. Going from that shade green to bright vibrant blue requires an excessive amount of chemicals. Not to mention the birds that mistake a pond and leave their feces behind.
It's a great price and located close to William and Mary. The neighbors are friendly, though the neighborhood itself is a little older and could use some love. Additionally, the walls in the apartments are thin. However, the place is a great starter with lots of charm.
Not new but this apartment has a pool for use in summer.Very well kept grounds.Any problem pops up and the maintanence guys are quick to respond.Office staff professional and friendly. They appreciate any information that is shared.University town.
