City View Apartments - 501 (501 S. Capitol, LLC)

Avoid living here — it’s a nightmare. Since the new property manager took over, the situation has gotten even worse. She shows no concern for residents and only responds when it’s about lease renewals. The building is incredibly noisy — people throw parties all night or move furniture after midnight — and management does nothing about it. To make matters worse, no one cleans the elevators or common areas, which are often filthy. Living here has been a constant source of stress and frustration. I also suspect some of the positive reviews may have been written or influenced by the apartment management themselves, as they don’t reflect the reality of living here.

Avoid living here. It gets extremely cold in the winter, and they charge hefty fees for parking and electricity—more than a hundred dollars—without disclosing these costs before you sign the lease. The management team is the worst I've ever dealt with. After paying my rent, they switched to a new portal and then showed that I hadn't paid. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue with the manager, who promised to transfer the information, over a month later, it still shows as unpaid. Very frustrating experience.

Great apartment to live in. It is more expensive here but the views here are very unique and you get plenty of natural lighting. Have not found another apartment with similar floor to ceiling windows.

This is honestly the first place that has ever felt like home to me and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe and lovely place to live

The staff is great and east to work with. THe amenities they already have are wonderful and I am looking forward to new ones soon. Quite and clean community

The building was clearly constructed to be secure which is a huge benefit. The staff has been wonderful, the building is extremely clean and quiet, and residents are friendly. Management is excellent which goes a long way. The apartment itself is brand new, with great natural light, wonderful appliances, and great value for the cost. Would highly recommend this place to anyone that is moving to downtown Lansing.

Very satisfied with the decision to move here, quiet, well kept, and convenient amenities. The staff is attentive and welcoming, and the communication from leasing office to residents is very efficient.

Apart from not having the gym, it’s a great living space. Staff is quick to respond. There’s security cameras everywhere. Key fob access to all entrances and elevators.

It has been amazing. Very fast process and very nice people. I had a problem with my apartment and they came in an hour later and fixed it. First time it feels like the landlords actually care

I've been living in this apartment complex, and overall, my experience has been positive. The location is great, with easy access to shops and restaurants. The apartment itself is spacious and well-maintained. The maintenance staff is prompt and efficient in addressing any issues that arise. Overall, I would recommend this complex to others looking for a convenient and comfortable place to live.

Our move to City View has been amazing! We love the location, friendly management team, and our gorgeous living space. Nicki has been fantastic helping us get settled into our new home!

Everything is perfectly wonderful! So far all the other residents I’ve ran into are friendly! Office staff is friendly and helpful! I love it here!

So far in my nearly 2 months I have no issues to complain about. The complex is quiet and I rarely hear my neighbors. The complex is not full so that could be part of it but even on a Saturday night I don’t hear much. The parking is a little tight but it’s not much of an issue. The rent on the surface might be high but factoring in all the amenities and how new and modern the place is I say it’s a fair price for what’s offered.

Love living in a clean environment with amazing appliances! So much in walking distance and pet friendly! I also love the security of the building. All of the doors are locked at all times.

Excellent. Very smooth move-in process. The apartment was clean, everything is new. Everything worked as it should. Everyone is so welcoming and we are so excited to be joining this community.

This is a wonderful place to live. After owning my home for the last 25 years, I was reluctant to stay in an apartment. The ladies in the office are wonderful, and have many great neighbors.

First time in a brand new apartment, and I'm loving my experience so far! I appreciated the welcome kit that was provided during move-in day. The building is secure and they actively make sure the parking lot has reserved vehicles in the area. Excited to use the fitness center once it's available.

City View has been so great to work with! I was in a pinch and they worked fast and efficiently to get me in and approved. The place is so friendly and super nice. The leasing agents, Ashley and Niki are such sweethearts and always a delight to see. I appreciate the professionalism of this place as well as the effort to get us involved with other residents.

The move in process was super easy and everyone was extremely helpful! The apartments are clean, new and been an awesome living experience so far!

Great apartments with great view and quick access to East Lansing. Rough move in but slowly the issues are being resolved. Maintenance do respond, but may take some time.

Loved living here, been here for a couple months, it’s a pretty chill apartment. The gym is not done yet which is the only downside but other than that it’s been a good experience. I do also wish my building had cameras , I think the other building does, but maybe they’ll add some in the future.

Honestly the best and safest place to live in. I love the events here and the lounge is honestly an amazing place to have fun. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to move in which is very safe and fun.

I love living at Cityview! The staff is fantastic and everything in the apartment is new and works well. The views are amazing. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. It is pet friendly. All the common areas are kept clean and in good order. I especially appreciate that smoking and vaping and drug use is not permitted and there is a strick termination policy. I have chemical sensativities to smoking and vaping and am NOT made sick here by the neighbors. It is wonderful!

Beautiful apartment complex, respectful property staff, and quick turn around for small repairs. Parking is also regularly enforced. Three issues. When I looked at the apartment and before signing the lease (July 2023), I was told the gym would be ready in two months. To this day (February 13th, 2024) there is no progress on the gym. The gym area still has not been worked on. It is an empty space with no sign of equipment. Another issue, the older building's windows form ice when the temperature is about 5 degrees outside. Almost the entire window will freeze from the inside and ice particles will form. Lastly the enclosed parking garage is not fully enclosed. It is worth it because it will protect your car from the snow. However, there is no gate to enclose the garage.

The unit is clean and brand new, everything is perfect, the place is quiet, we have an excellent view for those Golden Hours, we feel ourselves like home. My wife and I we love the place.

Maintenance and staff are quick to respond, very nice! Units are modern which is nice. Even when something is broken, office is quick to fix the issue. Building itself is also clean and well maintained given that this is a new complex. Taking off one star because sadly the gym is still not completed yet. It was one of the top reasons why I decided to sign on. I was given the estimated completion date of December 2023. It’s now February 2024 and the construction has not started. Besides that, I enjoy living here.

Great building love view and location!! Parking is a bit stressful lots of bums in the area but not city view fault they like to dig in trash and sleep on steam vents !! Building is secure!!

Nikki made the leasing process as painless as possible, which is not always the case when looking for a new place to live. The unit itself is beautiful and the layout is unique, which gives a lot of great options for decor.

City View is a luxury apartment that has modern amenities for a convenient living experience. I cannot speak highly enough about the management staff. Working with Lindi and Nicki has been great, and they are honest, hard working individuals that strive to make the move-in and application process a breeze. I would definitely recommend this apartment complex for its convenience to local amenities (restaurants, baseball stadium, hospital, and river trail) but also for its apartment amenities (high end appliances, modern finishes, etc.). It’s been wonderful living here and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great living experience in Downtown Lansing.

The apartments are beautiful with up to date features. Staff is also super attentive and maintenance is quick! Best part about it is the location- close to everything Lansing has to offer!

The water is eh, and the car chargers have been down for months but that’s supposed to be fix soon… 501 is a great building, I love my view and the high ceilings. Plus, it’s not cardboard like, like every new build apartment building.

I am proud to call city view my home. The staff have been wonderful and no issues so far. I’m very pleased and I appreciate everyone that has helped me move and the staff for being so understanding.

So far, the living has been quiet and pleasant minus a few incidents. It also would improve if the gym were completed. Neighborhood is surprisingly rougher than imagined.

It’s excellent living here. It is clean, manicured, and really quite beautiful. All of the appliances are new and maintenance is just a call away. They are prompt and do their jobs well.

City View Apartments is a beatiful building, centrally located, the units are clean, and the noise level is low. The building is also very secure.

I moved in to City View apartments recently and my experience so far has been outstanding. They are new and the decor is great! They are also very safe and secure which is very important to me since I am not familiar with the area.

City view has been a great place to stay. They are currently making upgrades to make the apartment more attractive and recent upgrades have been great. Would recommend.

Absolutely love the look and feel of the apartment and building. Super clean and quiet. I also love seeing everyone’s dogs when meeting new residents! They’re super pet friendly but keep everything super clean!
