Ontario is one of the busiest communities in the Inland Empire, with events and attractions drawing folks from all over southern California as well as locals. The city is a popular shopping destination, specifically the enormous Ontario Mills shopping mall. Next door to Ontario Mills, Citizens Business Bank Arena plays host to concerts and sporting events throughout the year, regularly drawing crowds of up to 11,000 people. Both of these attractions sit on the northeast corner of Ontario, as does the popular Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park. Metrolink service connects Ontario to Riverside in the east (30 minutes) and Los Angeles in the west (roughly one hour).

Property Ratings at Citrine Hills
Your experience largely depends on where on the property you end up. If you’re downstairs and your upstairs neighbors have kids, it’s going to be very loud. Our upstairs neighbors have wood laminate flooring so it echoes really loud. I imagine those that still have carpet are better at dulling the sound. Our apartment developed black mold and their solution was to spray bleach and paint over it. I’d say it’s common knowledge that if you spray bleach to black mold to a porous surface, all you’ll do is spread the mold. When i reported it, I was told is standard practice for them so they didn’t see anything wrong with it. This is the main reason I’m moving out, i have kids and the thought they’re potentially breathing mold spores everyday stresses me out. The property used to be two neighboring properties and apparently one bought the other and it turned into a huge complex. They converted the old leasing office into a small gym. The office staff is nice but the complex has too many issues and it’s too big for them to handle. I’d stay away but if you have no option stay away from the units on the eastern part of the property.

I love living here. The office staff is really nice, and I haven't met a bad neighbor yet! The grounds are neatly kept, and I love that there are so many amenities and activities for the kids.

From the first day I walked into Citrine Hills for a tour, the staff was welcoming and willing to show me a model. They were upfront about all the financials and process regarding my unit of interest. I haven't lived in an apartment in over 25 years. Due to recent life changes, I found myself here at the Citrine Apartments and I "feel at home". I was also gifted Starbuck's cards on my move-in day. Love it! :-)

We have had our first maintenance issue arise from a water leak from our neighbors above. This was purely an accident as things just happen and of no negligence of our leasing and maintenance team. Their response was impeccable from start to finish! I called maintenance and left a message about the standing water in my kitchen and laundry room. Within 5 minutes I had a call back, and in less than 10 minutes a maintenance team member was assessing the situation. They replaced our water heater, removed all the damaged drywall (and dried it out completely to prevent further issues). The next morning the drywall was replaced and painted to where you can't even tell any work was done! And finally, a maintenance team member came today to do a final inspection to make sure it was in good shape and that we were happy. We have lived at Citrine Hills for less than a year but look forward to this being our home for years to come.

Citrine Hills is a great, safe place to live. The location is wonderful. The staff are friendly and continue to improve the community from a new upgraded gym to the pavement. The maintenance team is efficient and knowledgeable.

Office and maintenance staff are always wonderful and professional. Repairs are always made in a timely manner and with the AC going out right before another heat wave they took great care in helping to get that fixed! I can’t say how much I appreciate everyone’s hard work. My family is very happy in our apartment.

I’ve lived here for quite sometime and I haven’t be pleased with these apartments! They never want to replace or fix anything! All the cabinets are old or broken! When asked to replace them, they basically couldn’t do anything about it! They have roach infestations and haven’t really fixed the problem! I’ve had pest control come at least 5 times and they are still there. Definitely over priced apartments!

Think long and hard before moving to Citrine Hills. Not secure, as advertised. Dusty and dirty ALL THE TIME (dusting is a constant need), water is shut off randomly for various reasons and does NOT come back on when promised. Office staff is extremely hard to contact, and when you do they are rude. Priced higher than surrounding communities and no particular value for the price.

I moved in during Covid, and it was the worst decision ever. They did not allow any tours because everything shut down, and unfortunately I got lied to about what my apartment was going to look like. They sent me pictures and it showed nice updated cabinets and doors and even asked a few times if that’s what my apartment was going to look like for sure, and the leasing agent said yes. When I picked up the keys, I went straight to the apartment and saw that the cabinets were old brown ones that had water damage on almost ALL of them, and they were chipping away but they decided to just slather on a billion coats of white paint. The walls are sticky from the paint, and it peels off. The counters are peeling off too, and they looked like they’ve been painted at one point as well. Please beware of these “luxury” apartments.

Don’t rent here. Management does not help when there are ongoing issues with neighbors, loud noises all night, cause health hazards (ex: allow animals to defecate and urinate in upstairs patios. When management was notified nothing was done.cabinets and drawers literally hanging off their hinges. Gates are always broken and open, people frequently in and out of the dumpsters. Unit was handed over with nothing repaired form precious tenants trashing the place. Not worth the price. Don’t waste your money.

Like I said before, they are a great team, and when I can actually get a response, they're helpful and polite. The problem is getting to that response. I have been left without answers for over a week, with not even an acknowledgement email back, or anything. Citrine is a great place to live, but it seems like the office is understaffed, and could improve on their communication habits.

I moved in last year can’t believe it will be a year already. Thank y’all for such a great place to live in I feel right at home I love my apt. I hope to stay here for many years to come. When I tell acquaintances where I live I always get ( it’s such a nice place ) ! Everyone here is quiet respectful and animal friendly which I like since I’m an animal lover! The ladies that I’ve talked to over the phone have listen to my concerns being very patient with me thank you !!!! I appreciate each and everyone of y’all !!

The leasing office is very helpful and easy to work with. The landscape looks good. The appointments are nice and a plus each unit has washer dryer hook ups and small laundry units across the complex.

this price gouging complex has more issues than i can name in a review. it is NOT LUXURY apartments. they are poorly renovated with broken cabinets, unfinished counter tops, unsafe water heaters, and water leaking from the walls and floors. there is black mold inside the walls and i got extremely sick from mold poisoning over the past few months of living here. not to mention my cat also got mold poisoning too. the entire complex is infested with roaches even though they charge you a pest control fee every month. the water features are disgusting and filled with algae that attracts mosquitoes. there has been a stray cat on the roof for the past 3 months in 100+° heat and they have done nothing about it, one of her kittens passed away inside the chimney up there. i have nothing good to say about these apartments. the office does not answer the phone or emails and they do not respond to maintenance requests. i promise you can find a MUCH BETTER complex for MUCH CHEAPER. the rent went up $1,000 after they sold the complex and rebranded it as “luxury homes”. save yourself and your family’s time and health and find somewhere better. 0/10 do not recommend.

The new management is much better than the old one, they actually care. The place looks more cleaner. I’m seeing a change.

Decent place been here a year. Only complaints are that leasing will pretend you don't exist after you move in, cow farms down the street introduce an interesting order and the parking gate will be broken and left open 98% of the time. Think they only fix it when they need new tenants as I've notice a lot of moving vans the week after it gets fixed. It'll break again in 4 days or so. OH and if they tell you your 2nd car will be ok as long as it has a pass.. Na it'll get towed regardless of if it has viewable parking pass or not
They will do anything to keep your deposit if you want move. And they will still try to charge you fees when you move out.
I've lived here for two years now, and it keeps getting worse. I have a burner on my stove that doesn't work, I've called maintenance three times and they will not fix it. The Central air only cools the living room, both bedrooms get into the 90s in the summer. There is no heater. I am expected to use the gas fireplace, that does not heat the living room at all, and the fan on the central air to heat the apartment, and again, that doesn't reach the bedrooms. Yes, you can technically fit a king size bed in both rooms, but I hope you don't have any other furniture with it. (I have a king bed and a dresser in one room and it is CRAMPED) My small refrigerator (30"wide × 32"deep × 68"high) wouldn't fit in the spot. There is a 40" × 40" storage inside the apartment, there is no storage outside the apartment, we are not allowed to store anything but a running vehicle in the garages, so there is effectively no storage. We get our vehicles towed in the middle of the night with no rhyme or reason (even when the front office says it won't be towed). There's termite damage on our building. The water gets shut off randomly, at least once a month it seems. This "gated community" hasn't had the gates close in over 18 months, and multiple car break-ins have happened over the last year. The office staff (and specifically the manager) has a bad attitude. If you go in with any sort of complaint they team up on you, changing their stories constantly. The only "HR" they have is the manager who acts like the people living here owe her something in life. I would tell anyone moving in here to actually see the apartment you are getting before signing the lease and GET A COPY OF YOUR LEASE AGREEMENT they are constantly changing it to fit their needs.
This place is gross!! Stay AWAY!! They treat the existing tenants like crap. Multiple sanitary problems, sewage issues, plumbing issues, and safety issues. Gates have been broken for a year, since Jan 2017 without repair! No rental reimbursement for damages caused to your home, or possessions (even when it is their fault). They take no responsibility for the property, and repairs take WAY to long.
I am a current resident I've lived here for about one year, the living conditions are very unsanitary as soon as you step out of your door you are either stepping in dog poop or walking around dog poop, there are large spider nests everywhere that management does not take care of, when you try to get in your car you are fighting with spider webs that are never cleaned or swept and it grows bigger and bigger until you simply can no longer park under the parking structure, they allow the residents to keep dogs off the leash, and the trash is infested with cats and mice it's deplorable. They keep the area near the offfice spotless but the rest of the property is only cleaned when a new tenant comes to view an apartment, I would not recommend this place unless you like living in filthy areas.
Please reconsider moving here. If this is the last option available, still don't do it. Property Management is the worst we have ever experienced. Nothing but attitude. Apartments are not up to date. Property management likes to indirectly accuse you for problems in your Apt. We moved in and there was spider webs in the cabinets and fireplace handles. Carpet wasn't cleaned and smelled like cat pee. Our feet were black from walking on it. Took 10 days AFTER MOVE IN DATE to get it cleaned. Unacceptable. Poor business. If I could give this zero stars I would.
