Property Ratings at Century Terrace
I chose Century Terrace as my home for several reasons: quiet community, low cost per square foot, first floor availability with handicap accessible parking, covered parking and low crime rate. Even though it is located on a main thoroughfare of San Angelo, it is removed enough from the road to be rather quiet. Compared to other complexes, the price for the amount of space you get is a much better value, especially for the quality of the apartment. For the same price around town, I think you'd be hard pressed to find such a nice neighborhood. During my search, one of my main requirements was to have a first floor, handicap accessible apartment. Having handicap family members, it was important that I live somewhere that would not limit their ability to come visit. If you, yourself, are the handicap person be sure to take an in-person tour before signing a lease. There may be limitations within the apartment that I am not quite familiar with. Prior to settling on this location, I researched the crime history for this area via the local police department records. It was significantly less than in other areas of town. There is a new Wal-Mart Supercenter being built next door to this particular property. As of right now they are just starting to clear the land. While I am excited to have a grocery store so close, I worry that it will attract riff-raff to the area and increase the crime rate. I would suggest researching the current crime prior to signing a lease. Every maintenance issue I have had, which has been few and far between, was addressed thoroughly and promptly. The maintenance staff is always professional and polite. The property is quiet. The pool is relaxing, unlike other complexes that are over-run with screaming children or loud parties/music. They also provide propane grills and outdoor patios for the tenants. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for their next home. Many of my neighbors have been here for more than 5 years, and I can understand why.
