Under new management but building was not built properly

1. Water pipe burst constantly. The first four times, no compensation or any action. The fifth and most recent, it was so bad that a lot of us didn’t have water for four days now. 2. Elevators. There’s three. In the past year, I’ve rarely seen all three work. There was a time none worked. 3. Air conditioning. Summer months. Only one month it was working. The fix took so long. I was lucky because prior tenants didn’t have it all summer and last summer was worst since it was the hottest summer in San Jose. Btw, this was only one year leasing at Centerra Now don’t get me wrong. I really enjoyed the people who work there. They’re doing their best. Building just sucks.

Welp, I moved in around June and the elevators haven't been working up until the last few weeks. One side of my hall smells like urine because there's a dog on that side that pees on the carpet. The trash room smells like I'm inside the trash bin. The garage gate was off and on the first few months. There was a leak on 9 floors and now my bathroom looks like it's been under construction the past two months; along with the hallway to get to the apartment as well. I've had to explain to all my guests that everything will be fixed soon...and then they show up again a few weeks later and it's still a construction zone.

"I've been in this apartment for more than a year, and I'm very glad I made this choice. The apartment has a large, well-planned layout with lots of natural light and contemporary decor. The shared workspace and rooftop terrace are two excellent and consistently maintained building features. With quick access to parks, grocery stores, and public transportation, the location is excellent. Professional and vigilant, the management staff sees to it that any maintenance problems are promptly fixed. All things considered, I would heartily suggest this apartment to anyone searching for a chic and practical place to call home.

avoid this building at all cost

We moved into a 2 bedroom apt in Nov 2023. Since then we have had a total of 18days without water, 28 days without hot water, 74 days with only one elevator working (which leads to about 30min wait time every time you have to use the elevator), and 3 days without any elevators working at all. We really regret renting with this building and with Bozzuto in general.

Great amenities, and the location. Centerra is a kind of luxury apartment located at the center of the downtown. Depending on your living floor, you might hear sounds from San Pedro Square (whole weekends and Fridays). Also, it is difficult to find parking spots.

Great location and ample parking. The garbage rooms smell horrible and one of the doors is broken. Some of the residents don't even bother to throw their bags down the chute; they'd prefer to let it sit right by the door entrance, but centerra is not at fault...just have some lazy neighbors. The elevators are busted and take about 3 minutes for them to arrive. I've also killed about 5 spiders per day, but that could be due to the hot weather.

Amazing amenities, cleanliness, friendliness and availability of staff, good service, good events (that I haven't been to yet). Yoga and HIIT are great. Secure building, feels like there are no issues with that. It might be nice to have the pool operator scrub the tile line inside the pool water, since it is a little dirty. Other than that, keep up the good work and I will keep recommending Centerra everywhere I go!

Everything would be perfect if we got our windows washed every once in a while. Also if concierge was 24/7 and able to send up Food Delivery a lot more frequently. The building is great. I like the activities management puts together and wish there were more. Same with the gym classes, they're good but not as frequent as we'd like. Also, the dog park is not cared for by most residents and there is no accountability for negligent pet owners. Maintenance does a great job in their daily cleanups, but they shouldn't have to pick up random poop every morning.

Love the building, love the location. They do an awesome job at cleaning and maintaining public areas. The team is super friendly and the community does a great job watching out for each other. Just wish all 3 elevators were in operation consistently. 1 elevator has been out of service for over a month now. Not the worst - but be ready to wait a substantial amount of time for an elevator during peak time periods (Sat night, Mon morning, etc)

It’s been great overall! One thing that could be improved is the emails for packages. When I receive that email there are times I go down and there is no package for me. Instead I have to come down a second time to double check and it is there.

Love Centerra! Management is excellent and very responsive. Security and lobby are on top.of things and almost always present. Parking is slightly on the pricey side but otherwise great overall.

One of the most affordable and nicest neighborhood in downtown San Jose. The office staff are really helpful and friendly. The handyman on call is very punctual and service requests are performed within few hours.

The overall experience is nice. The concierge is generally helpful. But I find the office sometimes slow to respond and I heard from my friend who was helping me pick up keys that the office complained about me sending too many emails behind my back lol. Them not responding was the very reason why I sent the emails. When I called for an inquiry, I was also suggested to send email for record. I hope the office would be more friendly and courteous to residents, even though we are bonded by lease. We are paying more only for the room but also for the service and respect.

Love the community here! Everyone I run into that lives here is kind and super chill. The location is great, and I love how I can walk to San Pedro market right across the street. Even go meet friends in the downtown area for dinner and a drink. Also, love the amenities, and it’s super convenient to have the gym on the property.

Good. The elevator doesn't work sometimes which can be pretty annoying. Close to San Pedro and a fun place. Closer to Target, whole food and Trader joes so an easy run for groceries. 5 min away to SJC if you wanna get away.

Bad management, the elevator license is expired over a year, everything breaks down regularly it’s really weird. They’re gonna charge you for full cleaning and paint even though your unit is immaculate at the time you turn your keys in, but when you move into a unit, it is UNCLEAN. Why do you charge for cleaning only to NOT clean the unit before the next tenant? Makes no sense.
