The first thing you'll probably notice about Downtown Olympia is its large, impressive murals -- these bright, colorful works of art adorn the sides of several buildings. Walk along the wide, tree-lined sidewalks and you'll discover charming shops and restaurants contained in those historic brick buildings. Head toward Puget Sound and admire the sailboats, yachts, and fishing boats dotting the water and lining the marina.
As a hub for artists and musicians, Downtown Olympia has a style and flavor all its own. Enjoy the beautiful, serene views from Heritage Park or the stunning backdrop of the Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. Downtown is home to the Farmers Market, the Hands On Children's Museum, eight public parks, five theaters, and a twice-a-year art walk.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
