Southwood is a planned community that formed in 1999. It is home to the Florida State University School, a laboratory school sponsored by FSU. Capital Place At Southwood apartments has exceeded my expectations in customer service to their residents - everyone has been friendly and ready to assist in any regard! The property is taken care of, and the community is peaceful all throughout the day.
Walls seem thinner then first reviewed and I'm not sure pest control comes into the apartment to spray nor was it cleaned when I first moved in but otherwise the community itself is great!
The apartment complex good conditions, management team very polite and professional, quickly resolve any issues that were raised, would recommend for future tenants

Capital Place at Southwood is a very nice and friendly community with decent amenities and ready accessibility to nearby parks, convenience stores, grocery stores, and a 20 minute drive to the airport. Well-kept landscaping and nice apartment floor plans and layout. Parking in abundance. Would recommend without reservation.

We as residents do not receive proper resolve for issues we have as a community provided we pay a premium for rent. The pool needs to be cleaned really bad. There is brick and substrate coming apart. There is elliptical machine that does not work and has not work. The car wash drain remains clogged. Cars that are three month expired on temporary tags park directly in the front of the complex and do not allow elderly or single moms have parking spots closer. The breezeways are have trash drippings throughout the concrete. Their remedy was to put bleach on bad spots, but did not pressure wash. The pine straw in front of building seven has been washed out of months. We now get to look at dirt daily as we enter the complex. The gates to get into the complex for walking do not work. Therefore, we have to walk around the gate where there is trail now in the grass as so many have to walk around. There is zero community engagement by the front office. I would think that you guys should do a cook out or something to think your residents and improve community relations with residents. We get text in all CAPS that rent is due days before the first of the month; however, cannot get responses to emails sent. We use to get text that our packages are delivered. That has gone away. There are more options that this complex. Each chance I get to tell others about my experience I allow them to know my complaints and how I feel we are ignored. I personally feel the complex is poorly ran and it is only a matter of time before this complex will be passed over for complexes that are ran way in a more professional manner. I speak for the community and those I have spoken with at the pool who make the same comments as I do here-when my lease is up I will not return to Capital Place at Southwood. I am really disappointed in how my stay has played since being a resident.

The Capital Place at Southwood community is a 2nd home for me and I truly love it! The location is perfect for me and my commute to FSU campus where I work! The grounds are impeccably maintained. It’s extremely quiet. The entire staff, from leasing to maintenance Are extremely helpful and always a pleasure to speak with! Last but not least, the price point is extremely competitive and affordable!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I do not recommend anyone rent from this place. In my opinion, this place has gone downhill since Tonya left. What used to be considered “luxury” apartments is more like student housing. As we were walking in the breezeway from our apartment, we encountered vomit in the walkway, going up the stairs, and wall. When I asked that this be cleaned, Natasha (in the front office) advised me that since it was a Saturday, it was not an emergency, but she would ask maintenance if they would clean it. 6 hours later the smell and vomit are still there. I would consider letting people and pets walk through vomit and potentially track it into their homes and vehicles, or worse having pets lick it off of their paws, an emergency. We have had numerous issues in the past months since the new management took over. It just keeps getting worse. I wish we had never renewed our lease.

Capital Place at Southwood is a well kept community in a convenient location. I really like the fact that it is gated and the staff members are very professional and timely with responses. They are always willing to help and their follow up makes you feel secure in the choice you made to move in. The landscaping is really nice and there is always an opportunity being presented for residents to socialize (with COVID precautions, of course). You dont have to worry about obtaining a parking decal so that is a plus. Family and friends can visit and not worry about being towed. The two bedroom apartment is VERY spacious.

I love the floorplan of these apartments! Lots of room and tons of storage. There are nice, high ceilings which creates even more space. The pool is good and the gym is great! The grounds are generally kept well also.

My residency here has been quite enjoyable. The neighbors are quiet, polite and friendly. The grounds and buildings are well-kept. The property management team are very friendly and easy contact. Capital Place at Southwood is a beautiful complex! I love the layout and quality of the apartments and the amenities are great. Very nice gym and pool. They are prompt and thorough on any service requests. Although this is just off of Capital Circle, the noise isn't bad. I generally feel safe here. My only complaint is that the office is very poor about returning emails or phone calls. They do well with answering when you have serious issues, but seem to ignore general inquiries or complaints. Chris in the office is fantastic and always super helpful.

Amenities and apartments are nice. Unfortunately, floors and walls are thin, therefore, you can hear neighbors fairly easily. I wake up to screaming children every morning and Ive pretty much been told theres nothing that can be done about about it. Other than that, Ive enjoyed my stay.

Recently moved to Capital Place and overall I am enjoying it so far. New to living in an apartment so the adjustment is a slow process. Overall property appears nice, guest are friendly and apartment staff have been very nice and professional.

Maintenance is on par, Management is attentive, grounds upkeep is superb, neighbors are responsible, respectful, and courteous,the atmosphere here is safe and secure!
