Property Ratings at Cameron Court Apartments
While charming on the outside, the interior is a whole other issue… The stairwells are consistently covered in hair and dirt, despite claims that they are supposed to be cleaned monthly. The laundry room is filthy, with multiple washers and dryers that have been out of service for over a year. Underneath my kitchen sink smells and looks terrible, and the oven is in poor condition—it burns everything, the knobs are confusing to use, and it’s oversized for the kitchen space. Additionally, the bathroom walls, particularly in the shower area, are deteriorating. Although someone attempted to patch them, the repair appears insufficient, and the walls seem like they could collapse at any moment.
Charming apartment community with big windows, deep window ledges for my plants, handsome hardwood floors, and great outdoor gathering spaces- all in the heart of Raleigh.
We’ve really enjoyed living at Cameron Court. It’s nice to be within walking distance of downtown. I’ve never lived anywhere with such an attentive and professional maintenance staff. Any concerns we have our swiftly addressed. The courtyard is wonderful and has created a beautiful community amongst residents. Thank you!

I've been at Cameron Court for almost 6 years now & I still love the community. I love the character of the apartment & you can't beat the incredible courtyard. The location is also PERFECT; I enjoy my ever growing bubble downtown! The community team replies quickly and has been easy to deal with over the years.

The staff are wonderful. They are friendly and willing to help in any way they can. The location is great. The Shelton is an old apartment complex and one cannot expect modern technology. But it has plenty of storage space and good layout.

Cameron court is an endearing property with a lot of character and personality. The area is perfect for anyone who wants to be in the heart of an expanding, bustling city providing a selection of entertainment be it nightlife or day time excursions. The apartment them selves are modest in size but abundant is sunshine and fresh air with the massive paned windows situated in every room. There is a beautiful pavilion located in the heart of the courtyard that provides an open flame fire pit as well a cozy fireplace with tons of comfortable seating. The space is great and I would definitely recommended anyone who thinks the open sounds interesting to come take a look if they are ever in the market.

Love Cameron Court so far, the community manager was super approachable and gave a tour and stayed in touch and made it so easy to go through the whole process. Love the vintage feel and the hardwood floor, massive windows, love the closeness to so many great downtown spots. Great location.

I have lived in Cameron Court for almost 3 years & I continue to love it. The location is fantastic & the courtyard, oh my gosh, the courtyard - it is one of a kind & no other place in Raleigh, especially downtown Raleigh, has that much green space & nice of a pavilion. April & Katie reply promptly to any concerns or questions & if there is a bigger issue, they are on top of it & keep the residents up to date. The rent is reasonable for the location & what amenities are provided. The periodic events are also nice & a great way to meet other residents. I've referred several friends to move to Cameron Court & will continue to do so.

Cameron Court is a small slice of the true Raleigh experience. Tons of natural light, huge windows in all rooms, access to plenty of green space shaded by gorgeous trees, and walkable to most activities in the area. The apartments are full of charm and personality, as are the residents.

Old buildings, but nice. The huge windows are great and rare these days. Walls are thick and block a lot of sound. I had a nice time here from 2020-22. The landlord withheld bogus charges from my security deposit when I moved out. It took a dozen emails over three months to sort it out. They finally refunded most (but not all) of the charges after I threatened small claims court. Would I still live there again? Yeah, probably. PS while I was there the landlord frequently offered cash for reviews. FYI

I've been living at Cameron Court for almost 3 years & love the character, location & pavilion so much. There's no other community like Cameron Court and the courtyard/pavilion is like our own private park in the middle of downtown. Plus the big windows & hardwood floors are so nice. Perfect location and loooove the courtyard area! With all of the trees, you don’t realize you’re right downtown. There’s a lot of young professionals, dogs and cats, and Managment has been beyond nice and helpful so far. It feels very safe as well.

I have been here in Cameron Court for just over 3 years now & have really come to appreciate & love the community. The charm of the apartments & neighborhood is what got me hooked and then I have truly enjoyed getting to know neighbors that have become friends. During this awkward time with COVID, it has been wonderful to have the courtyard & pavilion space to escape to. Yeah there have been some minor things that have come up over the years with living in an older apartment, but CCA has communicated properly & kept residents up to date on the status of things.

Cameron Court offers a location near downtown and the Glenwood Avenue entertainment. Easy access to bus lines, train station and car services. Expansive courtyard provides plenty of open space.

The last (almost) 6 years have been so wonderful living at Cameron Court Apartments. My husband and I originally decided to live here because we felt like it was the best cost per space for its proximity to downtown compared to the other cookie cutter apartments built in the area. It's also very dog friendly, with low fees compared to others as well. These 1930's apartments also have all the older charm you want (hardwood floors, mature trees, massive windows) but continue to add modern finishes and conveniences. It is an older building so of course it has its quirks and issues from time to time but any problem we've had has been quickly addressed by the wonderful maintenance crew. They also do a great job keeping the grounds tidy and safe. Additionally, each year that we have lived at Cameron Court something has been added or improved, whether that be the beautiful pavilion and grills in the courtyard, the updated community laundry room, and most recently free laundry machines in the basement of each building. The leasing office team, Julie and Isabella, also host resident events at the complex or a local spot (pre-COVID) which usually includes a free meal or drink tickets. Not to mention, they're always both very friendly and helpful. It's clear they care about their residents. It is definitely a bittersweet feeling to leave Cameron Court (we're only moving for a fenced in yard for our dog). We aren't just moving, we're leaving a wonderful little community. It has been such a joy to live here and we would 100% recommend it. We'll miss you, Cameron Court Apartments!

One of the best places I’ve lived in Raleigh! I’ve been here for just over a year and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. The courtyard is an awesome shaded space and the neighborhood is a really awesome community!
Many areas to highlight in Cameron Court... First is the Courtyard. The Bonfires are always open for use and make a great area to hang out with friends especially socially distancing during COVID (a lot of space, can be well over 6ft apart). The second would be the grand windows and natural light that comes into the apartment. The third would be the stellar location, and finally the consistent support from the Maintenance Staff and Front Office. I tend to use the staff often for help! Would recommend.
I moved into Cameron Court just about a month ago. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I found myself in need of a new home quickly, and Julie couldn't have been more helpful in finding me an apartment. Within a day or two of doing a virtual walk-through (fortunately, management is extremely COVID cautious), I had keys waiting for me in my new apartment. The location is amazing. A 5 minute walk to Glenwood South, and only a minutes more walk to downtown proper. Although it's so close to the busy city, the apartment complex itself is nice and quiet, with a gorgeous gas firepit and fireplace, with complimentary gas grills if you feel like cooking out. Also, if you have a pet, this is the place for you. They're extremely pet friendly. Around the corner is also Irregardless Cafe, Remedy Diner, Drink, Drank Drunk, and of course Trophy Brewing (my favorite so far). Also a quick walk to Weaver Street Market, Green Monkey, and a number of other fun little places. Although I've only been in here a month, I can tell this is a place where I'd like to stay for a couple more years at least. High fives to Julie and Isabella for setting me up so quickly with a home, who also left two amazing little pies from Cutie Pies at my doorstep. This place is fantastic! Sincerely, Graham in Y1B
Cameron Courts is the best apartment complex I have ever stayed in. They are SOOOO close to downtown but far enough so you aren't hearing a lot of noise! The apartments are so "New York" style and the community is awesome! We were looking to buy a townhouse and now I don't know if they will ever get us to leave!
I've lived here for almost 2 years and I absolutely love it! Very impressed with both the management and maintenance staff. I also really enjoy the diversity of the tenants. The residents are a mixture of college kids, young and older professionals, and everything in between. The courtyard is great for kids, and animals to play, in addition to the grill area and tables for socializing or relaxing. Great location and awesome apartments. Overall a fantastic community to be a part of.
I love this apartment so much! It is affordable, has an old-school charm with incredible windows. The staff is amazing and timely - they will work with you and are highly communicative. The outdoor space is great, especially since you don't have a balcony. Everything in the apartment complex is incredibly nice. I've lived all over the Triangle and this feels the closest to a real community. I love my 1-bedroom, it's very spacious, with gorgeous natural light and now has washer/dryer in the building basement. Close to EVERYTHING including all the parks, Glenwood south & Downtown.
For the price you are paying and it's proximity to downtown Raleigh, these apartments are a huge steal! Everything from grocery store (Weaver Street Market), to campus (NC State), to restaurants and bars (Trophy is literally across the street while others are 5-15 minute walks away), your "nextdoor" to everything you need out of city living. The apartments are very modernized while it retains some of it's vintage appeal. If you are a final of using natural light, the windows that come with these apartments will be right up your alley. A laundry room and wifi are all included with rent. And it's super easy to get to know your neighbors by usage of the massive courtyard, outdoor pavilion, and fire pit/grill area. The staff and maintenance team are both super attentive to resident needs and definitely make you feel at home with monthly events and such. TOUR AND SIGN YOUR LEASE TODAY!!! :)
My S/O and I have lived in a 2 bedroom apartment at Cameron Court for 6 months and we've loved it. Not only is the complex clean and well taken care of, the location is excellent with multiple great food and drink options within walking distance. Pros: - beautiful & clean apartments, everything works as it should - responsive front office - quiet - not disturbed by road noise, neighbors, train, etc - lots of good parking options with a pass included for each bedroom - courtyard is incredible with great communal space and pet waste receptacles - water included with rent Cons: - we were told that each building would be getting its own laundry systems and that still has not happened - internet is a joke, you will need your own router. they told us that they were getting Google Fiber soon, but have seen no progress - windows are not insulated so it can get chilly in winter Despite these cons, we still love it - we planned on staying here for a year when we moved in and are now considering staying longer.
Moved into Cameron Court in October; though the buildings are slightly older, they have character and the soon-to-be addition of free laundry in my basement is too great! My little rescue pup and I love the neighborhood and the proximity to work. I definitely recommend living here!
Cameron Court apartments are perfectly located in downtown Raleigh, without being so central to make parking and traffic difficult. The apartments are also just a 10-20 minute walk to various parts of NC State's campus. My husband and I particularly love being able to walk to the nearby restaurants and shops without ever needing the car! The resident events are also a huge perk! And, of course, the apartments themselves are incredibly charming. The huge windows, vintage tile in the bathrooms, and unique add-ons from previous tenets show that these apartments have been well loved and cared for for decades.
