The mix of cosmopolitan flair and low-key atmosphere once led LA Weekly to speculate that North Hollywood just might be the best place to live in the Los Angeles area. This community has become popular among artists, writers, filmmakers, and actors seeking balance between easy access to Hollywood and a quieter, more suburban home environment.
The local food and bar scene is robust, and the bohemian vibe of the NoHo Art District attracts all manner of offbeat creative types. Uncommon among Los Angeles-area communities, much of North Hollywood is quite walkable, with food, drinks, galleries, and performance venues just a leisurely stroll away from one another. Thankfully for renters, all of the perks of this location come at a relatively affordable cost. Most renters pay an average of $2,282 to rent in North Hollywood, about $500 less than the Los Angeles average.

Property Ratings at Camarillo Place
The property is good in terms of build quality, parking, and responsive management. There is a constant marijuana smell from 1 or 2 other apartments so we can't keep our windows open AT ALL, the mirror exiting the garage is useless I've almost been t-boned coming out a dozen times, and there was construction in one of the units for 2-3 months that woke us up every morning at 7am with hammering. Could be a great apartment but missing a few more professional touches like enforcing the no-smoking policy (we've complained to management a few times), fixing the mirror (also mentioned a few times) and having more visibility on construction (was told 1-2 weeks several times).
I lived here for a year, and my roommate wanted to live somewhere with more amenities so we moved. Let me say, this place is amazing. You will never find a better place in the valley. The units are beautiful, it’s safe, it’s quiet, the neighbors are respectful, and the landlord is the coolest guy. Now that I have something to compare it to I wish I would’ve stayed. This place rocks, if you’re looking for a sign to move here, this is it!!!
