The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Brookhurst Place - I
I lived at Brookhurst Place for a year, and overall, it was a great experience. The management was exceptional—Chloe and Reggie, in particular, did a fantastic job addressing my needs and handling all maintenance requests efficiently. They were always responsive and made sure any concerns were taken care of in a timely manner. The apartment itself was very nice—better than most in the area—and the rent was reasonable. The location was excellent, with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping plazas nearby. Parking was never an issue, with ample guest parking and street options. The neighbors were mostly quiet and friendly, which made for a comfortable living environment. The property is also well-maintained, and management does a great job keeping it clean at all times. Additionally, there is a security guard patrolling the building daily from 6 PM to 6 AM, which adds an extra layer of comfort and safety. One thing to note is that homeless individuals occasionally wander around the west side of the building, though they never posed a threat. They tend to congregate near the northwest corner off Brookhurst Place. The gym was decent—small, but equipped with enough machines and weights to get a solid workout in. I never used the pool, as it was in an awkward location outside the building, positioned between the structure and the guest parking, making it less appealing. The only downside was the lack of natural light in the living room and den—it became noticeably dim by the afternoon. However, the biggest drawback was the noise from the 18 AC units directly above the apartment. While management truly did their best to resolve the issue, it ultimately came down to an engineering flaw—something beyond their control. If not for the noise issue, this would have been a five-star experience. I would definitely consider moving back and would recommend Brookhurst Place to others—but I’d make sure not to live directly under 18 AC units.
LIVING HERE WAS A NIGHTMARE!!! I’m so glad it’s finally over. Don’t make the mistake of moving in here!! First of all, I have never EVER dealt with rude apartment management until I lived here. The ladies that work here are unprofessional and rude. They hate their jobs and they make sure to take it off on you. Then you meet the main manager and you understand why they behave like this. He is the same way. Horrible management! Living here YOUR CAR WILL BE BROKEN INTO and they will not care AT ALL. They will be annoyed if you even ask to see cameras. Everything is always broken in this apartment. The elevators are a nightmare. Everything about this apartment complex is CHEAP the walls are thin. Our upstairs neighbors were so loud and Made noise all night long, we put in a complaint but of course they didn’t do anything. The leasing office will only make sure to let you know when you’re doing something wrong but will never do anything to help you. Never missed a payment, always paid on time but they always had an attitude. Security here is nice but useless. Good luck if you want to sleep with your windows open. All you will hear is homeless fighting. Like I said this place is a nightmare!!! So relieved it is finally over!!!
I love my apartment . Great place & amenities . The apartment very modern & clean .. If you live in a apartment complex there will be pros & cons nothing is perfect , I’ve read all the reviews from alot of different apartments while searching for one and is pretty much the same problems. I mean you get what you pay for , it’s lilttle more then other places but at least i have my own washer & dryer in unit and another thing i love is extra 1/2 restroom for guest .And i actually feel like is safer to live here , there’s a security onsite and is gated don’t have to worry about someone following you home . Also is close to the freeway & markets . Thanks to Charlie(The Manager) & Elaine for getting me move in Asap . Overall i would recommend this place .
Toured this place last week. very very nice place. Brand new building and super clean. Has very modern styling and a lot of amenities you don't see in any apartment complexes anywhere in this area.
This place was a little overwhelming at first based on how high end it felt. After a quick tour I fell in love. Amazing complex. Huge, yet very open and homey feeling. I toured the 1bed/1.5 bath and it was very very cozy. Sleek designs and very modern kitchen/bathrooms (best place i've seen in this area). I'm not moving for another few months so im still touring but this place is currently at the top of my list.
Just got a tour from Elaine. The place was huge and has very modern styling. The gym is a little lacking but from what they told me they are planning on adding a lot more. Pool and community game room area is very nice. They have all the amenities of a nice upscale place you'd see in Anaheim or HB. If you're looking for a sleek upscale place close to k-town, Brookhurst place is probably your best bet, everything else i've seen nearby doesn't even close to this place. Still debating between this place and a few places in HB, but this place is at the top of my list.
Place was just built this year. everything is brand spanking new. still has that new smell. Probably the best place i've seen in garden grove. sent in my app today.
I've been on an apartment hunt as I transition from my current home. Walked into the Brookhurst Place thinking it was way out of my league, but to my surprise I left with a move in date. Elaine and Sandy were nothing more than accommodating during my screening process. I came in with out an appointment and they managed to squeeze me in, I probably took longer than the average in vetting the place and even had size markers for my furniture in which they allowed me to take as long as I needed to "arrange my furniture". With awesome amenities and their "you do you" approach to customer service, I am now all moved in, and hopeful for a great year at The Brookhurst Place.
I absolutely fell in love with this place!! I love how my unit is furnished with a fridge, washer and dryer, Microwave, and stove. Everything looks so modern and new which I love. The pool area makes me feel like I'm at a resort. I love how everyone that worked at the front office was soo friendly and helpful, which ultimately made our decision to move in a lot easier. The application process was fast and easy.
Having lived here for several months now I wish I had kept looking. This property is very new, opened up to residents during the summer of 2018, but this shouldn't fool you. The property was clearly rushed to completion. The whole property feels cheap, both inside the apartment and the common areas as well. When I called to inquire, the leasing office lied to me and played the scarcity tactic to encourage me to rush into signing a lease. They said that there were only two of the floor plans I was inquiring about remaining and that they anticipated several people were going to turn in their applications "any day now." Come to find out the property is only about 30% or so rented out. They tricked me into taking the most undesirable unit on the property, which faces Brookhurst Street, where idiots with loud exhausts zoom by at 2am every night. Where homeless people high out of their minds yell and scream at 2am. I'm not one normally bothered by noise, but the noise in my bedroom is so awfully bad at night I want to break my lease and leave this place. Funny how the property manager himself lives on the other side of the property. Further, their website thebrookhurstplace.com redirects to their listing on apartments.com, which advertises a comprehensive gym with free-weights and cardio machines. The gym contains a single set of dumbells and a rinky dinky, small, only half your body fits on it, bench. The treadmills are incredibly low quality and can only be controlled by a cheap Android tablet that's embedded in them, which frequently hang and crash. Also, the apartments.com listing advertises a pet play area, which doesn't exist. The parking structure is filled with loud, modded cars, which drive extremely fast in the parking structure and parking lot, creating an unsafe environment, especially for those with pets and kids. I guess my unhappiness with the facilities is my own fault for not touring the whole property before signing the lease but I felt rushed due to being told there are only two units left. Also, take any positive reviews with a heavy grain of salt. Management sent out an email this month offering $10 giftcards in exchange for "positive reviews." Not truthful, unbiased reviews - biased and incentivized reviews.
This is a beautiful place to live. I've been living here for 6 months and the things I love are the awesome pool, the community club and the accommodating management team. The apartments are brand new and all of the appliances are a great fit. Dishwasher, fridge and optional in unit washer and dryer make life easy. Tons of options for great food nearby and the old main street directly across from Costco has some pretty decent food and drink option. The Wharf and Louies on Main.
