The brick warehouses that line the streets of Brightleaf create an old-world feel in this Durham neighborhood. Anchored by two former tobacco warehouses in Downtown Durham, this walkable district wraps around a central courtyard and contains a variety of boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and art galleries. Known as Brightleaf Square, this area is known as a gathering place for live music, festivals, and events.
Brightleaf follows Durham Freeway to West Chapel Hill Street, then heads north along Duke Street to Trinity Avenue. Duke University's East Campus is located just outside the neighborhood, while the Durham School of the Arts is located on North Duke Street. Brightleaf is the ultimate live-work-play community, with a variety of offices located within its converted brick warehouses. The two main warehouses, the Watts and Yuille tobacco warehouses, were built around 1900.

I have been living at Solis Brightleaf for 2 weeks now and I am more than thrilled. My apartment was lovely when I moved in and the whole atmosphere of the community is pleasant, mature, friendly. As an older professional, I am so pleased with what I have found in this apartment complex and feel very fortunate to be living here.

Overall I'd rate this community 5/5 based on convenience of its location to both downtown Durham and Duke campus; professional and approachable management team; and modern apartment features and community amenities. Management is top-notch: professional, friendly, very timely in responsiveness. Beautiful construction with well-designed,logical floorplans. Love the amenities (gym, pool, lounge areas...) and the overall vibe of the community.

Living here for about two weeks; definitely enjoying the amenities, location to downtown, friendliness/professionalism the team of solis has provided thus far- Im very much excited to be apart of the community and experience downtown Durham living.
One of the best experiences Ive had thus far finding, touring, signing, and moving into an apartment complex! The overall experience has been top notch. Very impressed with the layout, amenities, and the technology the complex has to offer with (security, work orders, etc.). Everyone I have met has been super friendly and accommodating and couldnt ask for a better community.
The walls in the building are PAPER THIN. The complex has a lot of young people who like to meet late at night, which is fine. However, you can hear everything from your room. I can hear my neighbor singing in the shower in the mornings. Furthermore, I have found the management to be quite rude to the younger undergraduate residents and try to market their lack of parking as "environmentally friendly." You are not allowed to sublease your apartment. The water pressure and water heat is abysmal. After calling maintenance to fix the pressure and the water temperature MULTIPLE TIMES, nothing was fixed. Because it is a new complex there are maintenance teams constantly coming in and out of your apartment. If I could break my lease, I would.

Moving to Solis Brightleaf has been a great experience so far! The staff is super friendly and helpful and everyone I've met in the halls have been the same. I love my apartment and am happy to call this my new home!

Beautiful property with friendly, accommodating staff and awesome amenities. The location is ideal, the finishes and appliances in the apartment and common areas are gorgeous, and the windows and natural light in the apartments are amazing. Way more bathroom, storage, and porch space than I've had in similar apartment complexes which has been a huge relief.
There is a difference between having a beautiful apartment and living in a beautiful home. We have a beautiful home.
Solis Brightleaf is more than we could've ever imagined! It's clean, organized, and wonderful location and amenities. We are excited to live here.
