Long-Term Resident Disappointed by Deteriorating Standards

I moved into this community in 2022 and was initially very impressed. It felt safe, clean, and well-maintained a place I was happy to call home. However, over the past few years, I’ve noticed a significant decline in the quality of living here, which has been incredibly disappointing. The hallways are often dirty, with lingering odors and visible stains. I've encountered dog waste frequently throughout the property, making it difficult and unsafe to walk my own dog without concern for her health. The stairwells are sometimes cluttered with discarded items and trash, contributing to an unwelcoming environment. Security has also become a major concern. The entry doors, which are supposed to require a code, are frequently broken. On multiple occasions, I’ve encountered unauthorized individuals inside the building, including one disturbing experience involving substance use in a common area. These incidents have made me feel unsafe in my own home. When I lost my apartment keys one evening, I called the emergency line for help, only to be told that it was too late for assistance, even though my pet was locked inside. The lack of empathy in that moment was disheartening. Another issue arose during the recent ownership transition. I was told inspections would be completed by 5 PM, but someone entered my unit unannounced after that time while I was changing clothes. Despite my protests, they insisted they had to continue. It was a deeply uncomfortable and upsetting experience that left me feeling disrespected and violated. I recently renewed my lease only because I have a move planned and a short-term lease made the most logistical sense. Still, I was shocked to be charged nearly $500 above the average rent for a one-bedroom in this community. It’s incredibly frustrating to pay such high prices when the living conditions don’t reflect it, especially as a long-term tenant who has taken care of my apartment. I’ve also heard from other residents about questionable move-out charges, and as someone who values cleanliness and takes good care of my home, I’m anxious about what to expect when I leave. This property has potential, but it desperately needs improved management and maintenance. Residents deserve a clean, safe, and respectful living environment. I hope real change is on the horizon; this community truly deserves better.

Save your money, don’t move here!

Hmmm where to begin about this complex….. I’ve lived here for over a year now and have been sitting on this review for quite some time. I hate it here. Here’s why: •The leasing office: Every time we have to deal with the leasing office for anything, it’s always a headache. Miscommunication, difficulty reaching them, incorrect info, lack of knowledge, etc. If you call as a resident, you’ll be routed to some call center in another state. •The residents: People treat this place like a dumpster. Residents are constantly littering, letting their dogs pee and poop all in the hallways/elevators, ruining the dog park by leaving dog poop EVERYWHERE for the poor maintenance staff to pick up. Constantly smoking in the courtyard despite this being a “smoke free” apartment. Lazily throwing their trash in and around the trash room instead of down the trash chutes- again leaving it to the maintenance staff to clean up after them… leaving condom wrappers and empty shooter bottles in the hallway where residents walk to get home. It’s absolutely disgusting how people treat this place. Beyond that, the lack of grounds keeping makes this place more of a health hazard than a home. • Delivery: When we signed our lease, we signed on using the free package lockers for delivery services. These lockers were decommissioned shortly after due to constant theft (again, thanks neighbors). To our surprise, we noticed a new charge appearing on our monthly bill for “Fetch” - a courier “service” that we absolutely refuse to use because it is awful - go see their reviews for yourselves. This charge was not in our lease agreement, and when we called the leasing office about it, to our surprise they told us… this is what we use now and you have to pay for it. The couple of times I did use fetch, I had packages stolen within minutes of delivery. When I brought this up to the leasing office, they basically shrugged their shoulders and said that we had to continue to pay for this awful service (that again, was not in our lease agreement) and that there is no way to opt out. I am currently looking at legal ways to dispute this because it’s an absolute scam. •The fire alarms: The entire fire system in this building is faulty to the point that residents don’t even leave their apartment when they go off during all hours of the night. There is never an actual fire and if there is, we’re all screwed. It’s like the boy who cried wolf. The complex won’t notify residents that “the fire alarms went off

Great community

Loved living here. A few random fire alarms as people noted but much improved over the last year. Really enjoyed the community and the frequent food trucks was a really cool touch.

Declining Apartment

Apartment constantly has fire alarms going off, there have been police incidents here multiple times this past year, and you can no longer receive packages directly on site. Neighbors are loud, there have been multiple raves here in the past year which shake the building. I encourage any renter to review the most recent reviews. Positive reviews from 5 years ago are from different management.

Theft

Since moving here my vehicle has been broken into twice in less than a month, as well as mail packages being stolen from mail room. Management is not going to invest in security even tho theft incidents have skyrocketed. Also fire alarms at 3 am.

Run away!

I've lived here since 2021 and it was fine until the past year. Mail theft is RAMPANT as are car break-ins and the garage door breaks at least once a week. The fire alarm goes off at all hours to the point residents don't even leave (don't worry, management sends an email the next day thanking us for our patience!). They refuse to invest in security cameras of any kind and are vague and evasive about how they're addressing the issues at hand. I can't wait to move

Don’t move here

I would second guess moving here. I moved here because it was in a good location for a good price and I now understand why the price was good. From broken doors that get fixed and broke again 2 days later, to fire alarms going off at 2 am, to packages getting stolen, to garage doors not working, this place is a mess. The issue is that the company that owns the place is cheap as hell and doesn’t want to invest in the property to make it any better. They just put duct tape over the issues and nothing ever is actually fixed. Now they’re attempting to get $20 a month for a BS for a terribly reviewed delivery service called “Fetch” because they don’t want to invest in a camera system. This place is a joke.

Decent

I have lived here since April 2022 and haven't heard the fire alarms go off like mentioned in previous reviews. Hallways are clean as they just recently steamed all carpets and repainted. Apartments are nice and quiet, maintenance is always quick, usually within 24 hours. I have no problems living here currently besides it being a little pricey, just like everywhere else. Only complaint is that large packages are sometimes left by carriers in the mailroom, I had a $100 air pump stolen and no one could do anything about it. If you stole my air pump, I hate you.

Not good.

Overpriced. This complex is way below the mark. The hallways are dirty and outdated, the unit’s are outdated as well. You can hear EVERYTHING in your apartment, from your upstairs neighbor to the people walking down the hallways. Every time my upstairs neighbor closes his door it shakes my entire apartment and makes it sound like someone is trying to get in my front door. The fire alarms sound ALL THE TIME. Management keeps saying they solved the problem, but they are lying. The parking garage gets broken into along with all the vehicles inside. I get it is not just Bell, but a lot of places in the area. They should take initiative to installing cameras and adding more lights to the garage, but they refuse. The only thing good about this complex is the leasing agents and the maintenance techs. They’re always so nice, but unfortunately they don’t have any control in how this place is run. Avoid living with Bell. Management doesn’t care or deliver like their slogan says.

No Water to the Entire Building

Over the past 15 months, the hot water has been turned off once and all water has been shut off 7 times! I understand maintenance needs to be done occasionally but 7 times where the water is completely off for several hours? To make matters worse, when the water comes back on, the hot water smells funky, is brown-tinted, and has black specks floating in it for a few days after. I've been told it's safe, but I really doubt they ran tests on it to make such a determination. I'm guessing after a few days, whatever sludge was stirred up in the water heater finally settles back down to the bottom. I don't trust it and it's super annoying that I have to avoid using the water for this long.

Do not rent here!

We just moved out after 2 years living here and cannot recommend it to anyone. The fire alarm goes off all the time, for some reason. We wanted a place that was pet friendly but our dog was constantly stressed out by the building wide fire alarm going off. Also, the water was shut off all the time! I have no idea why they needed to shut our water off so frequently but it got old. When we moved out they hit us with a bunch of ridiculous charges, so I’m sure they do that to everyone to make more money off of you. With so many apartments available in Denver and the DTC, just save yourself the stress and do not rent with Bell.

Hope you like being charged for every little thing.

****READ THIS FIRST:**** We were awesome tenants. Our rent was paid on time every month, and we never missed any payments on rent even at the height of the pandemic. We never caused issues, and always reported maintenance issues quickly so as to keep small problems small. They treated us like this, and they'll do it to you too. Avoid this place at all costs. They specialize in nickeling and diming you. While we lived there, management would send out emails weekly about new fees and fines they can impose on residents for whatever reason. I thought we were finally free of the office's incompetence when we moved out. Move your renters insurance to your new address before the your lease is over, to, you know, protect your belongings? That's a $75 fee. Use your glass stovetop and it scratches as part of normal wear and tear? That's over $300 to replace. Baseboards/trim cracked due to normal life? That's about $100. You get the point. Don't give these clowns your money. This is a national rental company that specializes in preying on residents. They don't care about you. It's against the law in Colorado to charge for repairing normal wear and tear. I'm currently waiting for a callback from the corporate office to get this addressed. Make sure you pay your move out costs ASAP though, as they'll undoubtedly tack more fees simply because they think they can get away with it.

The security is not good here. Car theft and theft is high. They always have a new manager and assistant managers. They are not organized in the office and have made mistakes that I am now paying for out of my pocket.

Overall a decent place to live. Don't expect the front office to help when something goes wrong, such as theft and security, and be aware of the condition in which the building is in. Some areas of the complex are in need of major remodeling and fixing.

Ive had a wonderful experience at Bell DTC. The management staff is professional and very thorough. The apartment buildings have big hallways so you dont scratch up the walls or your things when you move in. They are located in a convenient area, very close to the highway if you need to commute. Not hearing my neighbors is a huge plus! Some places the walls are so thin you can hear them breathe. Bell DTC fosters an amazing community environment, and a comfortable living experience.

Living in this building for almost 3 years. Most because of the location of the building. Its close to downtown. However its pricey based on the unit qualities. I live in renewed unit but quality of the materials are cheap. They used wooden floor but now i can see its peeling. Called the manager tried to fixed but its not their fault the material is cheap. Also construction noises is uncomfortable since you can hear them even with closed windows.other than that i had no problems in this building

If you want to feel unwelcome, move in to a dirty apartment as well as have issues with appliances and air conditioning in the first month you live here, have windows that don't latch then Bell Denver Tech Center is the place for you!

DO NOT LIVE HERE.

Due to structural flaws in the building, my apartment flooded in the ceilings and walls. It took an entire month for the repairs to get fixed. During this time, I had to spend a few days and nights outside of the apartment. After this, I was able to go into my apartment's bedroom and bathroom, but the entire living room was sectioned off. The repair workers had moved all of my belongings and stuffed them into the spare spaces of the apartment, damaging the floors in the process and reducing the apartment to an expensive storage unit. They had also disconnected my internet. After the repairs were finished (which, again, took an entire month), my apartment was finally back to normal. It took the property owners and regional managers an entire additional month to get back to me about reimbursing me for the rent I had been paying during this mess. They offered me a very small fraction of a month's rent as compensation. They did not compensate me whatsoever for drastically reducing the habitability of my living space. It is clear that the property owners and regional managers have no respect for the financial wellbeing of the residents of the Bell DTC. After being massively inconvenienced for an entire month, not being able to use the majority of my apartment (and sometimes not being able to enter it at all) and its amenities, I was offered a fraction of what I am fairly owed after weeks and weeks of reaching out to them. On top of all of this, the hallways, garage, and stairwells are always disgustingly dirty, with trash and litter all over the stairwells. Packages are supposed to be delivered to your door or put in secure lockers, but often just get left out in the middle of the mailroom to be stolen. Do not live here. You deserve better.

BDTC has given me a nice apartment at a rate that I think is a steal in this area. Life here is quiet and hassle free. Staff is professional and responsive. Favorite place to live yet.

I have been living at Bell Denver Tech Center for 7 months now and honestly have no complaints. I love the community and always feel safe which is important for someone living alone. It is very quiet and the hallways are always kept clean. The rooms are modern and all the appliances work like new. It is also in a great location and having a parking garage is wonderful for winter! It is easy to pay rent and navigate the website. The office staff is friendly and quick to respond to issues. I highly recommend Bell Denver Tech Center. You truly get everything you pay for.

Bell Denver Tech Center has been a true blessing for me! I was in need of a place to live and they were the first apartment I chose to apply for. I was approved and to my surprise I was able to move in the next day! The whole process was painless and made extremely exciting for me by the ladies at the Bell DTC leasing office. Move in was made easy due to the parking garage and the elevators. This place is super clean, well maintained and very affordable! Recommend for sure!

My updated apartment is pretty good and pretty quiet. Security is a huge issue since anyone can enter the apartment community at any time due to residents propping open doors with rocks. If the leasing staff would install more FOB entry points instead of having several exit-only doors, I bet this wouldn't be an issue.
