Beacon Place at Kentlands

The apartments have been aging not that well. Amenities are subpar for the area and there was a management change and it has not been great. No communication with tenants whatsoever, rude people in the office who do not seem to know what they are doing. Unsure which way the property will go.

Not bad community is looking a bit run down and policies not being enforced such as clean balconies, cigarette butts everywhere . Staff is great!

I moved into the apartment July 3, 2024. I absolutely am in love with the place. Very spacious very homey. It doesn’t feel any better than feeling like you’re at home. Community is nice and quiet. You can get around anywhere there’s tons of places to eat entertainment it’s a good place that I would want to raise my daughter!

Great location and staff is very friendly. The amenities are also good. If you want to live in the Kentlands, Beacon is a good choice for you.

Excellent move in process with supportive staff! I've only been a resident for a few days and love it here. My apartment is quiet, clean and spacious. Everyone has been so kind and helpful with the transition process. The pool is beautiful, the trails are scenic, and neighbors are so friendly.

The office and maintenance staff is very welcoming and helpful! The community is lovely and the customer service makes Beacon Place extra special!

The property management team was incredibly gracious and patient in taking the time to answer all of my questions. They were genuinely welcoming and warm. I appreciate that the grounds are kept neat and clean.

The whole process was great. Kira was really helpful. We moved in about a month ago and we love it here. It has a nice charm to it. The community is great and the neighborhood has all the conveniences within. Walking distance.

I love living at Beacon Place! I've been here four years and have loved every minute of it. The community is so walkable, beautiful, and my apartment has all I could wish for (tons of big windows, lovely balcony, washer/dryer, and more). To top it off, the office staff and maintenance team are remarkable (and have worked here a long time). If you want to be part of a great community, you'll love it here.

Living at Beacon Place is going to be the best choice in your life. Wonderful management and staff, incredible maintained property. You are able to walk to many restaurants and stores. People are so kind and friendly, and the girls from the leasing office are THE BEST. Beacon Place have my heart. Highly recommend!!! ??

Management and maintenance team are awesome, very friendly and gets things done to please all of their tenants.

Pros: Neighborhood / location. Cons: Decades-old buildings with management that will mislead you until you realize nothing will be done as far as repairs go. Management will waste no time with fixing minor repairs such as stove fan and bathtub leaks, for example. But when it comes to more complex situations that literally impact your quality of living inside one of their units, nothing will be done. All I got was a couple of apologies and an invitation to move out. (Management, no need to reply to this review with apologies and asking me to get in contact. I have been in contact with you for over 2 months. Being basically asked to move out told me all I needed to know. Thanks.)

I lived here for over a year on the ground floor, facing one of the fountains. Pros: Management and maintenance are professional, courteous, and responsive. They do true to make the place feel like a community and enjoyable. The grounds were clean and maintained. There is plenty of parking. There is a nice, tiny pool and workout room. Cons: Lots of issues with field mice and bugs (not cockroaches!). Professional outside company did provide traps, sprayed, and gave tips on how to deal with critters. Appliances were basic and often broke. Carpet was thin and old and you will be hit with a carpet usage charge when you move out. Reported mold on the old windows and in bathrooms, but management said that due to COVID, replacement window installation was delayed. Had to run a dehumidifier every day to help control mold. Waited over a year for installation. The air flow is not even throughout. The main bedroom was a lot warmer at all times. Had to buy a sizable fan to help. Not a lot of attention to detail when they painted. Ceiling had a sizable crack in it when I moved in. If someone flushed or ran the washer or dishwasher, while you were in the shower, you lost water pressure and cold/hot water. There was a sizable gap at the front door, so you here everything outside your front door and people can hear you inside. A different unit may have been better.

Staff and the caring makes all the different here at Beacon Sq- from the maintenance crew to the front office. Replaced all the windows in the apartment, could barely tell anyone was ever in the apartment. I’m an older single woman and the maintenance crew does items- they don’t have to because they know I could not do them. Friendly staff- knows me by name and address any concerns right away. Gym and lobby clean and well equipped and the pool during the season is the best. It’s fun to go to and safe. Come join us here.

Some of the highlights for me: My apartment was quiet and comfortable; there were plenty of parking spaces available, so it was convenient for friends and family to visit; convenient location with restaurants, groceries, and gas stations nearby; nice scenic places (e.g., small lakes) to walk to nearby; my utility costs were low during both summer and winter; attractive rent prices; I often used the gym that was available 24/7; etc. I would say the best part of living here, though, is the excellent office staff and maintenance crew at Beacon Place – they are professional, very prompt in responding to you and taking care of matters, and genuinely kind and considerate people. I moved out of state to be closer to my new job, but I honestly do find myself wishing that the Beacon Place staff also managed my current apartment.

I recently moved from Beacon Place - but wanted to make sure I left some 5-star reviews around. I’ve LOVED living at Beacon Place - so much so that I stayed for 14+ years. Of course, you cannot beat the location in the Kentlands with its convenience, charm, and beauty. And the residences are well appointed, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. And the staff...! They are fantastic. They are so responsive, kind, and helpful. Laurie Dewey the property manager is the absolute best. And there’s Medwin making everything run with a smile. And Raquel, who’s also a delight to work with. The office has a good vibe and all the staff I’ve interacted with over the years have been great. So, if you’re looking for a place to happily call home, I highly recommend Beacon Place.

We rented at Beacon during a transition period and loved it. The location was perfect, walking distance to restaurants and stores. We were also extremely impressed with the on site management team and the way the property was maintained. The price was very competitive for the area (actually less then other comparable properties) We would highly recommend this property

The apartment is comfortable and the location is ideal, but the best part is the wonderful staff, both in the office and the maintenance workers. Every effort is made by all of them to keep residents safe and secure. Five stars plus!!

My girlfriend and I lived at Beacon Place for a little over two years and only left because we moved to a new state. If we could have stayed, we would have! The location is superb (incredibly walkable with lots of trails, restaurants and shops nearby along with access to public transportation). It is right off of 270 so there's easy highway access into the city or wherever you'd like to go. The apartments themselves may not look exactly like the brand new builds in that area but they are very well-maintained and have beautifully renovated units. However, the thing we loved the most about Beacon Place is the staff. Both the property management staff and maintenance staff are always there to help you and do anything they can to make Beacon Place really feel like your home. If we were to ever move back to Maryland, we would 100% choose Beacon again. We miss you, Laurie, Raquel, Medwin, Jose and Francisca!! :)

If you are thinking about moving to Beacon Place, just do it. You won't be disappointed. I have lived here for several years and I can tell you that the entire office staff and maintenance team is first class. The management does everything in their power to keep residents happy. Whether it is something to fix in the unit, maintaining the property constantly with mowing/leaf removal/ snow removal, or just being friendly when you stop in to pick up a package...these guys are the best. They work hard, fast and do it with a smile. They make living here enjoyable and a nice neighborhood to call home. It also helps that the location is hard to beat with the ability to walk everywhere and has a really nice setting for the pool in the summer! Good luck, and I hope this helps you while you look around for a new place.

I've been living here for quite a while and I have found it to be more like living in a condo than living in a rental. The Management is always available and constantly working on upkeep. I highly recommend it.

Beacon Place, located in the Kentlands, is in walking distance to everything you could want: Giant, restaurants, stores and beautiful walking trails. Brynn, in the office, is great! She is extremely friendly and responds quickly to any maintenance issues. My fiance had lived in the apartment for a number of years, and when I moved in with him it was in rough shape from his days of bachelorhood. Well, Beacon Place was wonderful and replaced/upgraded all of the carpets, plumbing fixtures, blinds and flooring. Needless to say, its a wonderful place to live!

I am so happy to have returned to Beacon Place. Was there a year ago and moved out of the state. Now that I am back, even though there are other choices, I am happy to return to Beacon Place. The office team is thoughtful and the maitenance team is thorough and are kind to my dog. The apartment is bright and beautiful. I am so glad to be coming home!
