Bay Colony Apartments

Moved back here a 2nd time when I moved back to Tampa. Apartments are nicely updated with great lighting throughout and have a spacious living area that’s open concept with the kitchen. The pool is kept clean, the walking trail is great, the grounds are consistently maintained, the maintenance team is great and promptly responds to repairs/issues, pest control is consistent, trash never overflows, and it is a gated complex. Target, publix, Wawa, Starbucks, and the YMCA is all located within a 2 mile radius. The rent is a steal for what you get in this location. Cant think of a problem I’ve had while living here, it’s been a good experience. I recommend 100%.

I've lived here for a year and the only reason I'm moving is that I'm relocating to another state. The community is gated and quiet, well-maintained and well-managed. Lisa and Dave at the leasing office are extremely nice and eager to help. It's easy to get an answer to your questions and help when requested. There's a trail laid out of seashells which goes around the entire community and is accessible through the back sliding door (there are staircases to most of the top floor apartments, too), which is great for dog owners. There is a dog park, a laundry room, a pool and a couple grill/picnic areas. This also seems to be the only area in South Tampa that doesn't flood during hurricanes. The only downside is that there is not a lot of shade, and the A/C units aren't strong enough to keep up with the FL sun warming up the apartment, causing the electric bill to be pretty high, compared to other places. Overall though, this is a great place to live and I'd recommend it.

I see some reviews that I just don't understand. I'm going to tell it like I see it. Bugs?? I am terrified of roaches, run into the night barefoot scared. I haven't seen a roach since moved here except once outside. Speeding in the parking lot? The speed bumps would tear your car up. The staff, not one single person, office or maintenance has been anything but super nice and friendly to me. There are things that can still be fixed sure. But they are doing a lot. I am changing to a remodeled unit soon and can't wait. The gate is broken a lot. I'll give that and I never hear any noise in here, even sitting outside. I'd rather live here than one of the cardboard castles down the street. I have lived in bad places. So I do know bad.

I moved here back when the rent was reasonable. Now they are trying to charge more than some of the luxury apartments down the road. I’ve had so many problems living here in my five years. ( roach infestations - despite being very clean, flea problems that hopped through from the neighbors, loud noisy altercations, flooding because the doors and windows aren’t sealed. Etc) I even had friends park here during a summer storm over night while they waited out the storms, and the parking lot is so poorly designed that it flooded. This causes 3k worth of damages to their vehicles and water came in through their floorboards. Also, the washer and dryers are abysmal, the tubs start to peel if you clean them with any sponge, walls are so thin we can hear neighbors cough and smelll everything the neighbors cook and … produce ( if you catch my drift.) Also, they have just evicted a family that has lived here for 19 years! While the mom was going through a medical crisis. Renters beware!!

I recently moved into Bay Colony Apartments and so far, the experience has been a positive one. The staff has been wonderful - the maintenance team is very quick to resolve any issues, Lisa and Dave in the front office has been incredibly helpful and kind. The property is very quiet and kept clean. Additionally, the layout of the apartment is very spacious, with amenities such as washer and dryer inside the unit, an out door fitness area. Overall, I would highly recommend Bay Colony Apartments to anyone looking for an apartment in Tampa!

I was worried about moving into an apartment after living in a house for so many years, but Bay Colony Apartments has made it into such a stress free and wonderful experience. All of the amenities are gorgeous and my place is beautiful.

I lived here for over two years. When I relocated the office manager claimed that I knocked down a tree while moving. Lisa did not/has not provided proof of this happening. She only said that a neighbor informed them of this happening. I have made multiple attempts to contact Lisa. I have sent certified letters. They were not picked up. I have made multiple calls and left messages with both David and Jan, to no avail. I also have wrote emails about the incident to them and received no response. They took $550 dollars out of my security deposit and will not respond with any proof of any damages being done. Living here isn't worth the stress. Poor maintenance and even worse office response.
