Bordering downtown Lowell, the Centralville neighborhood lies about 30 miles north of downtown Boston. The area is primarily residential, with the downtown business district within walking distance across the Merrimack River. Loft-style apartments line the streets near the river, allowing for views of Riverfront Park. The nearby highways of I-93 and I-495 connect the area to Boston, Worcester, and the state of New Hampshire.
Get fresh air by riding your bike along the paths of Merrimack River Bike Path in Centralville, then cross the bridge to Brew'd Awakening Coffeehaus for a cup of coffee and a grilled cheese sandwich. Remember hometown hero Jack Kerouac each year at the Lowell Celebrates Kerouac! festival, where you can join your neighbors on a tour of the city, listen to students read their poetry, or discuss the author's most famous works.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Barker Avenue Apartments
Place is horrible it’s falling apart very outdated the bathroom is covered in mold a nasty smell comes from the drains that make your whole place smell. Maintenance suck they never come out to fix an issue but they are always trying to raise the rent people use the parking lots to make drug deals the carpets are disgusting maintenance does not remove the carpets once the tenant moves out. don’t bother or waste your money on these apartments so glad I moved out!

Hi are you a current of past tenant of ours? I would be glad to discuss any issues you are experiencing or have experienced. Best, Roberta Russo Regional Leasing Mananger 781-284-3885 rrusso@dfi.cc
The buildings are always on constant need of renovations , I personally have had my ceiling come down (twice )once in the kitchen and once in the bathroom (which also need a hugeeee update) they were build in the 70s and not much has changed , and to which there were no rent decreases for the inconvenience either . I’m not a picky because I live alone but trust me just save up your money and move somewhere else . It took them over two weeks just to add some plaster on both of them and it looks horrible and cheaply done . The dishwasher hardly ever works and when it does it overflows . I’m currently just a student getting by so I suck it up , also the building is so old you can literally hear the pipes banging through day and night .

Good price for the area. Unit is in good shape, and the landlord is attentive to the needs of the tenants. Neighbors seem friendly, and non intrusive. Would recommend for anyone looking for a solid rental in the Lowell area.
