Before considering moving to this property, you may want to pay more attention to one of the selling points listed on their website. Avion @ Spectrum apartments states that they provide a safe and secure environment as a “gated community”. As you are paying more to live in a gated community it stands to reason that it would be safer. As a tenant living here, I have experienced firsthand the increase in homeless people entering the property through open gates day and evening and going through the community garbage bins. In addition, there has also been some vandalism to vehicles during the night hours. Some tenants have garages but the majority of the vehicles are parked in open spaces offering no protection. The property should be better lit in some areas to discourage such activities jeopardizing tenants’ properties. Unfortunately, property management has not responded to previously submitted complaints either verbally or in writing. This is the third point you should be aware of before making your decision to move in at this location.

The apartments itself is decent and good amount of space for me and my husband. We liked that they allowed pets, for a higher price of course, but expected. When we did our first apartment walkthrough after moving in, we found several concerning things including rusty dishwasher racks, and 'hanging by a wire' ceiling fans... The cabinets are cheaply built, the front door wont close properly at times, I can go on and on. The biggest problem is trying to get these thing FIXED. We reported these problems right away and after 4 months of living here they haven't been addressed. Whenever I try calling maintenance I just get taken on a loop and when I finally talk to someone they direct me to another line that never picks up. Talking to them in person is absolutely not helpful either. It is seriously ridiculous that we are paying for amenities that we can't even use. Our last place would have resolved these issues within the week. We will 100% not be renewing our lease.

We love living here at Avion! The leasing team is amazing! Anthony and Donovan are super sweet always asking if we need anything. We have lived here almost two years now and have enjoyed it! Super safe community where you can walk your dog at night and not worry. The Maintenance team is great they are so on top of it, the same day you have an issue they come in and fix it. We love all the Facility Amenities, you can tell that they take great pride in their community. Every single morning they are cleaning the property, landscaping, and always making improvements to make it a wonderful place to call home.

Overall disappointing. We moved here 5 months ago the apartment is actually nice even if the appliances are cheap and not new. However the apartment overall Is decent and nice. What is not working is the manager office. Recently they changed the ownership of the property and with that they also changed the manager. Let's not talk about the fact that I have a disability and I must have an emotional support dog, the manager she made it so hard that I almost felt discriminated. Let's not talk about the fact that she asked me papers and documents that are not required by the federal law for people with disabilities. The problem Is that when you walked in that office feels like they are doing a favor to make you stay here when the truth is, without us tenets, they won't have a job. The problem is that they need to change their attitude cause right across the street they just finished several new condos much nicer than this one all new, and happens that the people who works there they really make you feel welcomed. I guess they did understand how it works. Who wants to stay in a place as expensive as all the new other places when you feel like that you are not welcomed ? The new management needs to remember that we can choose among many places much better than this, and they should be grateful of our business. To end this review I'd like to remind to them and to all, the first rule of marketing : takes years to build up a good reputation but it's takes an hour to destroy it
I've never lived in such a beautiful apartment complex before. Not only are the newly renovated rooms breathtaking but so is the entire complex! it's great to be able to sit under the cabanas at the pool on a nice day and watch tv on one of the many flat screens provided! I never hear loud noises from neighbors, and the staff is always there to help when you need it! it's been almost a vacation living here!
Avion at Spectrum is clean and quiet. The property is beautiful and the location is perfect for "seclusion" in the heart of San Diego even though shops, restaurants and other attractions are very close by-some even walking distance.
This is the best place that we've ever lived. The grounds are well kept, there are loads of amenities, and the office staff is mostly nice and friendly. Everything is modern and upgraded and the room sizes are fairly large compared to comparable apartments. The walls seem thicker than other areas in San Diego, it's rare to hear neighbors on either side. If I had to be picky, the only downsides are no elevators which make moving in and out difficult and the trees in the parking lot tend to shed quite a bit on all the vehicles parked unless they're under cover. These are very minor annoyances, we love the place.
We have been living in our apartment for almost 2 years now. I have to say that this has been my favorite complex in San Diego. The amenities are well maintained, staff is very friendly and accommodating. One complaint I do have would be a standard apartment problem which would be hearing your upstairs neighbors walking around. We can't hear neighbors conversations beside us though so that is great!. There is a very convenient park across the street. However, if you have small children it can be annoying that dogs are off leashes (its a city park, so there's not much Domain can do about that except maybe complain to the city?) Our unit is spacious, open and overall very pleasant to be in. Domain has really made this experience a great one! We really appreciate them being prompt with all service requests and communication with them is never a hassle. We have a young child so safety is definitely at the top of our list, this neighborhood is great, plenty of great places to eat, grocery stores, close freeway access, safe to walk around, underground parking. The price is a little bit higher than we would like, but coming from a couple places with pest problems, building issues and less than stellar staff to work with we will take Domain any day!
I love my apartment! It's in a great area and has easy access to freeways. There are a lot of great restaurants and shops within walking distance. I often walk my dogs to the nearby park where all my other neighbors and their dogs hang out as well. The amenities are amazing! The gym is nice and clean and I use it all the time. The pool area is absolutely beautiful and I'm down there all the time. The unit itself is really nice too. It's spacious and has lots of closets and storage space. I love having a washer and dryer in-unit because it makes things a lot easier. I hope to live here for as long as I possibly can!
This is a good apartment complex that has good grounds and is very centralized to everything without it being in a busy downtown area.
Gated community with lots of families, very quiet at night with nice walls so we don't hear the neighbors. Lot's of amenities, good gym, very nice with a great exterior and lots of green.
The apartments are spacious and the grounds are well maintained. Appliances are older in my unit but from what I understand they are trying to update those (washer, dryer, fridge, etc.) as apartments become available.
If you’re looking for a great place to walk or run in your neighborhood, I have the perfect place for you. Avion at Spectrum is just that place. It is miles of paved sidewalks and two green lush parks. The area is all industrial and corporate offices. Very safe to walk, run or even ride your bike. You will also see lots of private security in the area for the corporate offices. If you have kids or pets, the area has two nice parks to play at. One park is across the street and has lots of tables and bbq grills. In the evening, you will find lots of people out with their dogs and families socializing. It is a wonderful community. In addition to all the great walking area, you find easy access to all the major freeways. The area is close to downtown San Diego and the airport. When out of town guest arrive, the apartment has a couple of apartments you can rent for your guest or down the block is hotel, within walking distance from the apartment. Lastly, if you’re wondering where to eat or shop, don’t worry. Everything is within walking distance or down the street; several steak and burger places and local bars around the corner. This location is really very idol. Hope you will find this area your next home, as I have for the past seven years. I can’t imagine living anywhere else. See you at the park!
The Avion at Spectrum apartments are awesome! The complex is tucked away in a business park in Kearny Mesa that is both quiet and peaceful. It's close to Convoy and the 163 North and South freeways. The apartments are newer and each have their own washer and dryer. All of the neighbors that I've bumped into are respectful and quiet. The pool, hot tub and gym facilities are well kept up. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone looking in the Kearny Mesa area.
