Good overall experience. Office and maintenance staff are friendly and responsive. Still some burned out light poles on the property and lots of the other residents that live here are big litter bugs. They don’t know how to use the dumpster areas and there are bits of trash all around the property. Still a problem with illegal dumpers dropping off large items like couches and filling up dumpsters too.

I love my apartment and love that it's so close to everything. The one downside is there have been a lot of gang activities close by in the back side of the complex around 159th and 35th. There are gang tags on the brick wall by my building where the new townhouses are being built. There doesn't seem to be a way to report it in the graystar app. If the Seahawks win you get to play "is that fireworks or is that gunshots" from the 159th area which is always fun. Now for the good. I realize it seems silly to leave a high rating on a complex that has gang activity around it, but I do love my actual apartment and my garage, and the cherry trees are absolutely beautiful when they are in full bloom. The grounds are maintained well and maintenance is quick and painless. The complex is very close to grocery stores and restaurants are minutes away. There are several bus stops right in front of the complex and the Alderwood Zip is available as well.

Unfortunately, we've had a pretty negative experience here. Upon move in, our unit was still very dirty. Management did have the cleaning crew come back and clean it for us, which we appreciated, however the unit was still dirty in many spots. No matter how much we personally have cleaned, it's never felt truly clean. Dog poop is a HUGE problem here. No one here picks up after their dog, plus people let their dogs poop on the sidewalk. Trash has been a huge issue here. The complex got a new trash compactor, however in the months it took for us to get it, they took away ALL the dumpsters in the complex for some reason, which left everyone to basically dump their trash in the areas where there are normally dumpsters. We don't feel safe here either. My car has been broken into 2 times and has had symbols scratched into it now. We've also had an empty apt near us broken into by a squatter. Sadly, I can't recommend living here. There are better apts in the area for a much better price.

It’s a decent place to live. The office staff and maintenance people are very responsive. Apartment is in nice condition. Very noisy bathroom fans, you can hear your neighbor’s fans through the walls and floor. Trash areas are always a mess and overflowing, the complex has a problem with illegal dumpers and litterbugs that toss garbage on the ground all over the place.

We lived in so many properties, never had this worst experience that we are having here. Management is worst. Leasing professionals and leasing manager they have 0 professionalism. 0 customer service. You tell them your problem they don’t care. Our apartment doesn’t get sunlight, and we need bigger space, we asked them so many times, can we transfer lease to different apartment because we have a new born baby and our apartment is cold. They do not care and say sorry we can’t do anything you have to break the lease which is something new that you can’t transfer your lease. Even my wife is greystar employee but the managers do not care. But yeah they do all that for people working and living on the property. Then I referred my brother and friend and it’s been 6 months I am waiting for my referral bonus. And sometimes office make mistakes and sometimes I do not know but we are still waiting and Calling them for just 600. If you wanna see the worst customer experience. Welcome to Avana!

The property is decent but there are issues with the outside of the community and waste management. There are multiple dark spots in pedestrian areas and parking areas at night due to many lights burned out on buildings and light poles. There is a big waste management issue with garbage all over the grounds and overflowing dumpster areas.

The trash bins are over flowing most of the time. I see a lot of trash on the ground all over. In the Gym a lot of times out of disinfectants and paper towels. Upkeep maintenance here is almost none. But office people are nice and friendly.

If there was an option to give the community a 3.5 stars then I would do that. Overall, it is a nice complex but I have two grievances. One is that there is no rowing machine or stair master in the fitness center is and the other is that it can be very difficult to find parking after 6 pm.

I like living here it’s a good place. Management is always responsive, the apartment has everything we need. Only thing I would say is that some of the resident’s that live here litter all over the place. There’s trash and newspaper on the ground by the office too where people get their mail and throw things on the ground. They also fill the dumpsters to an overflowing point constantly and then just toss garbage on the ground around the dumpsters. It’s disappointing that so many people don’t care.

So far it’s been bad, packages are missing inside the locker room when we ask staff they say ask for a refund from Amazon. There was no way of communicating a solution.

The staff is very knowledgeable always helpful and takes the time to take care of the residents. The maintenance staff is quick to resolve any issues. The only reason I am not giving them a 5 star rating is because parking for a two car family can generally be a nightmare to find an empty spot close by your unit.

I have really loved my space. The apt is modern, nice view. The only downside is the trash bins. They are always so full and overflowing. trash bags on the floor because the bins just cant hold so much trash. the doors of do not have a latch to stay closed. The doors prevents one to be able to see the cars coming to be able to turn to exit.

When I leased my apartment, I was not informed that a new community was going to be constructed right across from my only outside view and patio. For the last year, there has been construction noise, dust, and heavy equipment being operated from as early as 5a.m. until dark, sometimes during the nighttime hours, 24/7. I was not anticipating this kind of activity and, had I known, this kind of information would have greatly affected my choice of location when renting my apartment. Now I am here, and it is expensive to move, but I am not happy, and thus my unfavorable review!!

Some Good but Also Glaringly Bad

The Good The resident portal is comprehensive and the property responds quickly to concerns and maintenance requests. The Bad The parking situation is an absolute joke. I regularly have to park multiple buildings away. You are not given an assigned space as a paying tenet and they have more tenets than available parking spaces causing a musical chairs mentality. This makes it so you are practically required to pay extra for a reserved space. The lease states that vehicles that remain in spots for 2+ days or are in a state of disrepair are subject to towing. However, this rule is not enforced as there are multiple instances of cars parked in the same spots for months at a time (One of which has been sitting on two flat tires). Also buyer beware that the rent cost does not include ANY utilities. Trash removal, lighting in common areas, sewer, etc. Everything is charged separately.
