Property Ratings at Avalon Reston Landing
We love living at Avalon, it's right on a pond, so you feel more connected to nature but so close to the town center. We knew nothing about the area coming here but are happy we didn't choose one of the high rises down town, we feel this is more suited for us and our dog. Avalon's convenience is unmatched - walking distance from Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter, Starbucks, and so much more. The staff is incredibly helpful if any maintenance is needed and our unit is nice and renovated. Definitely go for a renovated unit. Gym is pretty solid too.
My apartment wasn’t cleaned well when I moved in. In the whole year I have lived here, I didn’t have hot water. Cold showers in the winter isn’t nice. My electricity blew. I spent a week in a hotel while contractors worked on fixing it. My air conditioning unit got fried. They had to bring me a window unit. So while the apartment and community looks nice you may end up locked in a leasing in a home with issue after issue.
Apartments are old and falling apart (and they will charge you for standard upgrades when you move out), walls are paper thing, neighbors are loud and lack common courtesy in common areas. I could go on.

My husband and I have lived at this property for just over a year. During the 14 months we've been here we've had to request service to our apartment twelve times. If you value having an apartment that functions as it should and provides the basic necessities of life (i.e., hot water and electricity) then Avalon Reston Landing is not the rental property for you.

This complex has a lot of families and professionals. It's well maintained and the apartments are fairly large for the area.
I have lived at this complex for 3 years, in two different units. Overall, this apartment complex is a bit nicer than most in the area, but that also comes with a slight cost increase but not too bad. Apartment Interiors: I have stayed in the 2br w/ loft and 3 br units. Both have ample room and pretty open floor plans. The ceilings are usually either 9 or 10 feet high. Appliances: The appliances can be a little dated, but not too bad. Hot water and AC are on a per unit bases, so you get to set your own temperature and take long hot showers if you want. Amenities: The complex has some nice amenities: a decent workout room, pool, close to a lot of running trails and available grills. However, on some of the pictures you can see a lake and paddle boats, those don'w get much/any use so don't count on rowing anywhere. Front Office: We have never had a problem with the front office, they have always been nice and willing to help out. The only possible complaint we have is that they do have slightly limited hours, but just means you got to pick up packages when you get home or wait till tomorrow Parking: parking is the weakest part about this complex. It is on a first come first serve bases, and is very limited. Visitor parking is a pretty standard 1 night in a visitor spot but you need a visitor pass for more than one night (free from the office) Other: In the past year, there seems to have been a lot of young children move in to the complex that run around after school 'off-leash'. I am not the biggest fan of kids and they can be loud and rowdy in the afternoon. I have never heard my neighbors through the walls here but the children yelling outside come in no problem.
This place is great! Very convenient - easy access to metro, Reston Town Center and Trader Joe's!! The amenities are nice and the staff is excellent!
You won't be disappointed with Avalon Reston Landing. My boyfriend and I love it here! There is a great mix of young professionals and families, which is always great. The location is awesome it's in walking distance to Reston Town Center, but also close to shopping centers. The staff here are great! They are always willing to answer any questions and maintenance requests are usually fulfilled the same day! I would highly recommend Avalon Reston Landing.
we wanted to get closer to our grandkids than NY where we live and this was i the running until we found a complex closer. This complex was very nice and would have been very acceptable because of its location to both Reston and Dulles Town Center shopping.
