The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Austin at Midtown
DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. I lived at Austin for 5 years. Unfortunately last year, Thrive Street Living bought it and ruined everything good about it. Buildings are getting broken into but nothing has been done to make it safer. I was without laundry for 6 weeks due to the break-ins. I had to report them to the BBB to have anything done about it.
mold on the walls, no ventilation, paper thin walls, and not updated apartments. The age is really starting to show here and the rent just keeps going up with no updates. It doesn't make since. I really like the location and how the apartment looks. Great natural light and spacious kitchen. But raising the rent every year does not make since to me...
There is mold, loud doors and neighbors can be heard doing everything from slamming the toilet seat to opening and closing their doors. Conversations can be heard from other tenants while they are in their units due to paper thin walls, why even have them up? We practically all live together. The truth is it’s not really the other tenants fault that the walls are so thin, but some of them just don’t have any apartment living training. They walk hard, slam cabinet doors, and you can hear it all. I finally bought a sound machine. Works wondrous. These apartments are old and rundown. I’m not sure why management keep listing the apartments are updated. Why? Because of the few pieces of stainless steel appliances. Also, there are no buildings to separate dog owners and non dog owners. Sounds like a chorus of horrible dog barking when one gets started you can add two more to that. Rent was raised with no repairs to the apartment. The maintenance that was here is no longer here. I’m not sure who they have doing repairs now. The temp property manager or property staff is clueless and doesn’t resolve anything but numbers. Absolute zero. I lived here for 18 months and coming in my experience was horrible with all of the noise surrounding me. But now I am well and have a sound machine and 3 months left on my lease
I like the area as it is close to work. The area is walkable. There is also public transit. I also like that I have met a new friend since living here as she is also a good neighbor. The apartments are spacious and responsibly priced. I had mixed feelings about moving here because of reviews about noise level and mold. Honestly I keep the apartment I'm renting clean. Noise level in the building I'm in is actually pretty good as I barely here my neighbors, but the building next door there are loud neighbors and a couple who share my bedroom wall who have no manners. However, I like it here and will honor my year least.
Lived here for a year and just resigned my lease for another year! Quick walking distance from work and the Blackstone district! Maintenance is WONDERFUL! Tyrone and John are very prompt whenever there is an issue. My heat went out and maintenance was very quick to come and look at it. They made sure to get it fixed before leaving my apartment. It is nearly impossible to get locked out...unless you need to do laundry in another building. I got locked out ONCE and was able to get back in quickly. Amazon and USPS are great with delivering packages. If not there is an access point just down the road where FedEx takes packages. OPPD bill can be pricey in the winter...but I crank mine up. OPPD bill in summer is extremely affordable! Usually about $30. Sally is also AMAZING. VERY NICE and always so accommodating. She truly cares about her tenants. The best landlord I have ever had. A lot of my coworkers also live here. Definitely recommend it!
My experience here has been very positive! The other tenants seem really courteous, and I really like the surrounding Blackstone area. The buildings are old, so some issues common to old buildings (e.g., slow drains) come up, but you get a surprising amount of space for the price, and I like the vintage feel. Also, the building management has been very responsive to any maintenance issues that have come up. My heat went out during some really cold weather and not only did someone come out within a couple hours to try to fix it, but management also loaned me space heaters and followed up with me throughout the night to make sure that the issue was fixed and that I was safe and comfortable. I really like living here, and I would strongly recommend this place to any prospective tenants.
Maintenance comes in without warning/discussion beforehand. AC broke twice. Loud neighbors. Drains get clogged and when we fixed our sink clog looked like from previous tenant. Landlord has horrible communication problems. Car broken into twice while living here and they did nothing about it. In fact saw security less and less. Threats to tow people. They did it once ever during the middle of the night which a neighbor called the police for because he thought his car was stolen. People take your laundry out of the machines on to the floor. Too easy to lock yourself out of the building. FedEx doesn't bother try to deliver. One time stayed outside for a package and they told me they only put stickers on the door because they can't get inside and don't even try. No ventalation in the bathroom unless you shower with the window open which in the winter is not ideal. These buildings seem full of mold. Black mold in the apartment bedroom - for just having a bed against a wall should not have been like that. Talking to neighbors some other people have found mold in their apartments as well. Pretty sure they just paint over it several times rather than getting rid of it. One night sounded like some animal was stuck in the ceiling in the bathroom. Stay away from here.
