Carpenter ant infestation for 3 months Carpet not attached to the ground, subflooring damaged and nails exposed. Rotted out window sills, wood flooring not attached to ground, ceiling peeling off and they will paint over the previous tenants dirt. Maintenance will argue with you, staff will give you the run around

I moved out of here a year ago, and just yesterday found out that they reported me to the credit bureaus for not paying them a $146 damages charge. My credit dropped a whopping 117 points because of this. I was NEVER notified that I owed them this money, and I already paid $200+ for damages upon moving out. Do not move here.

People will just leave dog poop in the grass maintenance sees them just ignored them will shut off water at random and give you a notice a hour after it’s off someone was shot up and killed on the property but they just run around the issues there is feral cats just roaming and attacking people they took away the dumpsters so now more bugs have been coming to the buildings

This is very disappointing and certainly not all true. From time to time we need to shut off the water for emergency purposes. For example, this winter in 2022 has created havoc on the entire city. And to prevent further damage, we need to shut off the water. We give ample time for all residents to make arrangements We are not alone in this decision as many of the apartment communities within the city do the same thing. Residents are responsible for their trash, dogs, children and vehicles. We provide amazing resources to maintain the safety and health to all our residents and guests. You are welcome to come to our office to discuss further.
I have resided at Ashley Oaks for 5 years. I love the location, and overall appearance of the community. The maintenance team are timely, and very friendly. The office team are as well! I like the renovations that have taken place. I would recommend Ashley Oaks to anyone looking for a nice apartment community!

Great environment and staff. All the amenities that we can use are kept clean snd safe from Covid. Neighbors are friendly. The property is always kept clean also maintenance department is top notch and fixes any problems quickly.

Ashley Oaks has a new "face" giving it a fresher and modern look. We have more amenities than anyone really needs. The general atmosphere is friendly and peaceful. The location can't be beat. Every store and business is just a leisurely walk away. It's not perfect, but there is no such place anyway. The office staff and the maintenance crew are great. They are very friendly and they work together as best as they can to make our community pleasurable and safe.

Ashley Oaks is in a great location. The layout of the apartment is great. In the last year they have done a lot of improvements on the exterior & the leasing office.

Living at Ashley Oaks the past 2 years has been a pleasant experience. Office staff is very friendly.They always get back to you with answers to any questions. Maintenance requests are easy to fill out and they always respond quickly. The complex has been making improvements throughout the time I've lived here to really make you feel at home. Really excited about the upcoming dog park. My neighbors are all friendly and no noise issues. Rent is very reasonable for the quality you get. The location is great too! I love being close to 281 & 1604. The only thing that I hope will be improved in the future is the gym but other than that, you can't go wrong living here!

These apartments are in a great location. Also the maintenance requests are very fast on the most part. There’s only a delay if they need to order something and maintenance crew is very friendly. Office staff is courteous and helpful. I appreciate them receiving my packages.

the staff could care less about your well being, i was so happy when my lease was finally up, i have lived in really bad areas and the management on the west side treated me better there how i was here, when i moved in within 3 months in all of the electrical outlets didn’t work things were falling apart not working etc, it’s extremely overpriced for such an ugly apartment with unprofessional staff.

I never leave reviews for anything, but had to for Ashley Oaks. I just moved my daughter into her first ever apartment there a few months ago. I was scared to death having her live alone, but it has been great. Everytime I visit I constantly see Maintenance out on property working. The grounds are well kept. There isn't a lot of traffic in the parking lots. She feels safe and that makes this Dad happy. She was so worried about the freezing temperatures and was probably driving the office crazy with questions but they've been nothing but professional. I'm glad we chose Ashley Oaks to call her home out of all the other apartments in the area.

I would give the staff zero stars if I could. Practically every email & phone call was ignored. I had to call the property management team in California just to get a response out of the office in San Antonio. And when they would finally call me back, they were extremely rude. Rats live in the banister rails and in the walls of the units. You can see where they pop off or chew through the dryer vents on the side of the buildings. Pit bulls are allowed on the property and when I asked about them, I was told they were probably service dogs. My neighbor was mugged in the parking lot at gun point. They send notices for certain utilities being turned off but switch days without any further attempt to notify tenants. The large rocks they use as landscaping are always knocked into the roadways, so you're either tripping over them or driving over them with your car. Maintenance will fix one thing in your apartment only to have something else break during their "fix". And the pictures they show on their website are DO NOT realistically represent the actual property. PLEASE do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live. THE WORST PLACE TO LIVE.

The little things such as paper towels, cloth towels make a difference and the office personnel does a good job.
I do not have 1 complaint about living here. I’ve lived here for almost 6 months and still extremely happy. I’ve had maintenance issues and all were fixed quicker than expected. The entire office staff is very friendly and helpful.

Do not waste your time with this complex. Staff is unprofessional and they do a minimal job to insure their residents are taken care of. I would highly advice no one to move here.

We have been made to feel like family from day one. Any and all concerns have been addressed promptly, professionally and courteously. We truly feel at home here.
My overall experience was positive, but most of my immediate neighbors seemed to have particular maintenance issues that tell me that the age of the units might just be showing. Also, my recommendation would really depend on who was asking. For a single person and no family, Ashley Oaks was a great place to live, but seeing the quality of many tenants and the company they kept concerned me having little one's and a wife home alone at night. I don't really hold that against Ashley Oaks as it's the nature of the changing demographic of the neighborhood, and honestly if anything and as mentioned, the rental rate might have been the one thing from making things worse, but it's definitely something that would temper my recommendation.
The ratings may not reflect it but Ashley Oaks was a great complex to live in. Very seldom did I have a service request but if I did it was taken care of immediately.
The leasing professional, Michelle, was very patient with me as I had many questions and I wanted to see the property in its entirety.
It's nice and there very helpful and respectful.
I am beyond satisfied with everything! This apartment has been more than I have hoped it would be. The office and everyone that puts in efforts to keep the apartments up and running; are all kind and welcoming. The pools are always clean as they can be in this Texas windy weather. The gym is always available; other renters are kind as well. This is a great location close to 1604 and 281, and convenient grocery stores and restaurants and fun things to get into. Yet; it's so peaceful and quite. I could go on and on.
Overall a great community. There are little things that bother us here and there but I have recommended the complex to a few people already.

I do recommend the community for the office and maintenance staffs, and the reasonable rent increases. I am disappointed in the new gate system entrances, however - I now have to go quite a bit out of my way from the entrance gate to get to my parking space - the speed bumps are obnoxious!
The community is great it's a little noisey but it's expected in an apartment complex.
I would recommend this apartment to other people because it is quiet. The last place I lived I had a 2 bedroom 2 bath for the same price I am paying now but I had a lot of issues and inconveniences with that apartment and then they wanted to up my rent a lot and that is why I left.
I think the space is well-laid out. For the small square footage, it seems like plenty of room.
The office staff has been warm and inviting. As well as the maintenance staff. The turn around time on work orders has exceeded our expectations. We love our new home.
I recommend Ashley oaks to any and everyone. It's a place you can call home it's quiet and the staff is always so welcoming and polite.
The property, amenities, staff are reasons I would very likely recommend this apartment community to family and friends. I would advise them to closely inspect the actual unit they would be living in BEFORE they make a decision. But that is advice I would give them no matter where they might consider living.

I believe that the maintenance department can make a decision on moving or renewing your lease. We are very please on every issue we have had.
It's a good apartment/complex, I just wish my apartment were actually move in ready when I actually moved in. I've been here a month and just now got my water heater issue completely resolved.
I think this place is great, and since the present management, there hasn't been as much crime, I feel way safer here, and my rent doesn't go up as horrendously as it has with other management teams. These are the reasons I would recommend this place-- I don't really care how crappy the baseboards look.
My apartment bedroom is just on the other side of the wall as the air conditioners and water downspouts. So I get woken up several times throughout the night from the noise.
Ive lived her for a while now and everything ha been great. Pleasant office staff, great location..I think if you pay on time and don't give anyone any problems then you will be fine. Love the covered parking, security and SAPD drive around so its pretty safe and peaceful.
I lived in these apartments with a roommate about a year ago for 13 months. Location was perfect but this was hands down the worst apartments I have ever lived in. We had maintenance issues literally all the time and it would always take a long time for the maintenance guys to actually come and fix our issues. For example, we lived on the 3rd floor and had a leak in the roof in our living room so we had to keep a pot under it whenever it rained. It took about 2 months for someone to actually come fix it. There was a leak in our closet TWICE so bad it drenched all my side of my closet, ruining my shoes and clothes. Our cabinets were always breaking and falling apart, the shower head had to be fixed because it wasn't letting out enough water to actually take a proper shower, lighting always had to be fixed, and our blinds as well had to be repaired. So basically the maintenance crew were always going in and out of our apartment. About 4 months in, the one day my roommate forgot to lock the door to our home, someone broke in and stole our 2 televisions, a camera, and my IPad. It was devastating and we no longer felt safe in our home. A couple months later I reviewed a note on my door from a neighbor explaining that he saw a creepy man lingering in front of our apartment door trying to listen in on our roommate and I. I will post a picture of the note after this review. Keep in mind, my roommate and I are very cute 19 year old women, so you can imagine how scared we were. It's sad to have to keep a pocket knife in your hand when leaving our home and when walking up to our home. Also, Gloria (the lady who leased up our apartment) seemed so nice the first day we met her, but when we moved in, her attitude completely changed. Her and another lady who works in the apartments whom I don't remember the name of, were always very rude to us! Probably because we were always calling about another issue but hey, that's not our faults. Anyways, I think they also never took us very seriously because of our age which is ridiculous. They were never much of a help to us and also had snarky attitudes. They also lost our money orders for our rent at least twice! Thank god we had our receipts. Bottom line is, don't move into these apartments unless you want a lot of stress in your life. Living here for a year, I have never been so stressed and mildly depressed in my life and most of it had to do with this home!!
absolutely terrible apartments. my car was stolen & apartment broken into because the gates do not work. office staff is rude and does not seem to care about issues with the complex. I would highly advise no one to move in here...ever.
To start off, the grounds are fairly well maintained; plentiful trees, a fair amount of parking and you are allowed an assigned space near your building. There are 3 pools totally 2 on one part of the complex and 1 across the street in the other complex for the bigger apartments sadly the exercise equipment has been broken the 8 months I have lived here. Inside the carpets and walls were clean at move-in, most appliances were new, not too many problems. The exceptions are maintenance is understaffed and have trouble fixing problems in a timely fashion, and certain household fixtures were not mounted on properly and sit crooked. overall average experience could be better could be worse.
Overall a pretty decent experience thus far. Only a few complaints. Nothing works in the workout room. Maintenance could be a little better, they had to come back several times for the same problem.
I simply love the amenities and location along with the pricing.I also love the attached garages that's including in some of the floor plans.
