Market East follows East Market Street from the historic Indianapolis City Market eastward toward East Street. Property Ratings at Artistry Indy
Living at The Artistry Apartments for 14 months has been an absolute nightmare. Despite the promises in the lease, many of the amenities were either never provided or constantly unavailable. The elevators were consistently broken, and rarely fixed. My roommate and I almost got trapped multiple times - it was not only frustrating but also dangerous. The valet trash service was another constant headache - inconsistent and unreliable. The gym would have several machines broken, lights in the hallways would not get replaced, and the hallways were always dirty. There were always issues with getting work orders completed. No matter how many times we submitted requests, they were consistently ignored. One of the most concerning issues was that management never gave notice when workers were entering our apartment for maintenance, which was a clear violation of the lease. But the worst experience by far happened in May of this year when a painter crew, who wasn't even supposed to be in our building or unit, was let into our apartment. My roommate and I, both women, were terrified to find our unit completely torn apart. The painters caused over $700 in damage to our personal items--breaking headboards, shattering candles, ruining linens by standing on our beds, and more. This was not only a violation of our space but a serious safety concern. We had to consult legal advice just to get management to negotiate repayment for the damages. The whole experience has been traumatic and exhausting. If you are considering living here, please save yourself the stress and avoid The Artistry Apartments at all costs. They don't honor their lease agreements, provide subpar services, and the management is careless with tenant safety and property. This place is not worth your peace of mind.

I would highly not recommend. My car has been broken into here multiple times (seems like I'm not the only one) AND had my catalytic converter sawed out of my car and of course the Artistry said it wasn't their problem. An armed man was in the parking garage and the Artistry didn't even think to notify that no one go in there when there were police everywhere. I found a random gun laying outside. And to top it all off they are trying to make me pay over $4000 because I didn't give a 60 day notice that I was leaving even though my lease is ending. Overall, save yourself the trouble and look for a different apartment.
After I moved out of Artistry Indy, I was issued a full deposit refund. I never received the check from the Artistry. I continued to follow up and even offered to pick it up. The check is expired by now since the Artistry has ignored me for months. I assume Artistry Indy requires its tenants to pay timely and fulfill their obligations in order the keep shelter and avoid negative marks on their credit, however, they lawlessly ignore their residents with no consequences.
I’ve been in my apartment less than a month and I’ve had so many issues. I’m thinking of breaking my lease. A/c went out first week. Maintenance request go unanswered or take days for a reply. Staff and amenities are nice but not worth the price you pay. Shop around!
The downtown Indy area is such a fun place to live BUT if you don't want to over pay for bad quality units, awful and disrespectful management and homeless people in all door ways of this community at late hours of the night than artistry isn't the place for you. I have never lived in a place where I have to argue to have basic maintenance requests taken care of. if this is something you don't mind dealing with I see they have a lot of availability, would never recommend.
Please spend your hard earned money somewhere else. There has been no effort put into this apartment community that would qualify it as “luxury” or that could justify the prices they are charging people for some of these units. For one the leasing office does not have anyone’s best interest in mind. The complex hadn’t been updated in years - the hallways are dark and dingy and the layout sucks. I remember just feeling so sad that I even moved into this place. My current apartment has a sewage smell that comes from the bathroom shower every day - the pictures of the units looks nice online, but no one has updated these units in years. The lights in the units are also fluorescent and make you feel like you’re being interrogated. And everyone who lives here is 22-25 and parties all the time. The washer and dryers in the units all smell like mold. The water pressure in the sinks and bathrooms is no -existent. And it’s even a nightmare trying to locate packages/items that you’ve ordered. Also they don’t deliver large packages to your apartment door - the carriers have to leave oversized packages in the main building. Which means you have to move furniture/large items to your own apartment and maintenance doesn’t assist with things like that
Living downtown is SO fun. Living at Artistry is a mess. They don’t communicate, they never respond to emails, they aren’t human about human problems. I’m just disappointed about how much money I spent to live here and it feels like I should be getting high quality service instead of being babysat and yelled at. Not a fan.
I wouldn't recommend moving here. The staff is great to sell you on the property, but once you sign you will never hear back from them on any issues that come up. The pool is nice and fun in the summer, but that's the only upside. For the price I would go somewhere with better customer service/communication. Not a place for young professionals, mostly seems like freshmen in college live here. Most people definitely don’t work 9-5 jobs so they party all day/night during the week.
Highly recommend not living here. All three of my neighbors have bass speakers hooked up to my walls. Have you ever heard bluegrass music with bass? It’s creepy and scary. Don’t move here.
Artistry is a great place to live! The pool is great in the summer and the staff throws an amazing pool party!! I have lived here for almost a year now and I can't imagine a better place to live in downtown Indy. It is right in the heart of downtown so there is always something to do. The staff always throws great resident events whether it be on the property or at a local brewery. I have made so many friends from living here. I definitely recommend anyone to check out Artistry and call it your home!
Horrible experience all together. DO NOT RENT HERE. My fiance and I moved to Indianapolis excited to live in the city in a luxury apartment. Instead all we got was 6 months worth of pain. No air conditioning in the hot summer, washer and dryer hooked up wrong causing a flood in our back bedroom, no hot water in the showers, leaking dishwasher, I even had a full closet rack fall on top of my head because it was not installed and anchored properly! Oh and did I mention their security is horrible? Parking garage jumping and homeless people getting in the building lobby! But don't bother calling for assistance, because the staff and especially the "manager" will never respond. Highly suggest looking elsewhere! There are many other great apartments through out the city.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on our community. We appreciated your patience at move in as we worked through a few construction issues within your brand new apartment home. We understand the inconvenience of having multiple issues within your apartment, however, we are happy that we were able to correct each issue in a fast and efficient manner. As HVAC systems are also subject to mechanical issues, we do consider these an emergency service request and complete these repairs within 24 hours. If you are still experiencing issues with your hot water heater, we are happy to enter a service request to adjust the water temperature as they are all set to a standard temperature through construction. While your issues were limited to the first 30 days of move in, we were happy that we were able to accommodate you and come to an agreement that kept you happy at the Artistry for the next 9 months of your lease. Additionally, we are happy that we were able to work with you as you proceed with your lease buyout that we offer to our residents for reasons such as job transfers, relocations, and even buying a home. Artistry has also forwarded your security concerns onto Denison Management which is the entity that owns and manages the public city garage as well as our local contact that we work closely with within the IMPD. Unfortunately, Artistry does not own or manage the public city garage in which you are referring to. We thank you for making Artistry your home during your lease here at our community and wish you well in your future endeavors within Indianapolis! This building has a great location, just three blocks from the heart of Downtown Indianapolis. The amenities in the building are a once in a lifetime opportunity, so make use of them! The overall atmosphere of the building is very exuberant with a lot of monthly events to attend and meet other residents. The staff is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable when you have questions. This building has the perfect atmosphere and location for anyone looking to live in the heart of downtown.
The Artistry is a great place to live if you are looking to be immersed in downtown Indianapolis but still would like a quiet place away from the hustle of the heart of downtown. It is a 8 minute walk to Monument Circle. The modern feel the Artistry creates is well-complemented with any amenity you could need such as two workout facilities, rooftop pool, putting green, herb garden, well-kept lounges, and parking garages. It is expensive, but reasonably compares to other apartment complexes in the area. Recently, I have been frustrated with what seems to be a lack of customer service and construction but the Artistry does have decent means of compliant filing. Over-all it is a good place to live that remains clean and quiet.
Great apt complex and great service. Full of young professionals, artistry is the place to live if you are in your late 20's -30's. Only had a problem with some construction issues but maintenance took care of them right away.
