I have been living here for a while. This is one of the best office stuff that we had here in a very long time. They take there time to help answer any questions and problem.
The area is very beautiful. Iike the fact its close to walking trails and lake Johnson . I like games that are at pool and activities that they have at the clubhouse

I've lived here for almost a year. Its pretty quiet for the most part. The office is helpful in person not so much on the phone they dont answer. Lots of spiders and water bugs. Love the new paint outside the building. Definitely might reconsider resigning my lease.

Living at Arium Lake Johnson has been a positive experience overall. The location is one of the biggest perks — close to downtown Raleigh, shopping, and major highways, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful. The lake and walking trails nearby make it easy to get outdoors and enjoy nature. My apartment itself is spacious with modern finishes, and I really appreciate the open floor plan and large windows that bring in natural light. Maintenance requests have been handled in a reasonable time, and the staff is friendly when I stop by the office. Parking is generally easy to find, which is a plus. Like anywhere, there are occasional hiccups, but I’ve found this community to be safe, convenient, and comfortable. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a well-located apartment with nice amenities.

The retreat at lake Johnson is a chill apartment community with great amenities and easy access to all the places you need to get to. The vibe is very much “summer camp” with all the buildings nestled in the woods and plenty of space to roam. The apartment itself is spacious enough and comfortable and kept in good shape, even though the buildings are a bit older.

Just moved in and already loving the place and all the amenities. Deven, the leasing agent, was super helpful throughout the whole process. Even the maintenance guy stopped by to check in and told me if anything’s off, just let the office know and he’ll take care of it. Great first impression!

We just moved in and its been great. A few maintenance needs but they got a guy out within 2 days. My only complaint is that the leasing agency was hard to communicate with in the lease signing process.

So far everything has been extremely positive and all the staff are helpful and kind! The apartment was replaced with new carpeting right before move-in. A few of the light fixtures and vents don’t work but they provide you with an inventory form upon move in so that you can write every little thing down about the condition of the apartment in the first 48 hours. The location is quiet, spacious, and serene!

The move-in process was rough at first but that doesn’t take away from the fact I really wanted to live here. I love the floorplan layout and the privacy these homes offer. I do wish communication was a bit better but I understand a lot can happen that is out of the staffs control. I do wish the grounds were kept a bit better being that my view is a rotting garbage can with piles of poop :/ (Can this please be addressed lol)

Apartment was not fully cleaned. Nasty orange stuff all over all the baseboards. The kitchen cabinets and drawers were not cleaned. The bath/shower was nasty. I’ve seen 3 small roaches in less than 72 hours of being here. I wasn’t expecting to have to deep clean my apartment before I can fully settle in. The mechanism in the back of the toilet doesn’t work because the rubber has rotted so the toilet constantly runs. The toilet is not sealed to the floor so it leaks water out the bottom. I put in a work order and despite the fact that it is leaking the office staff didn’t seem like it was an urgent fix needed. I will dispute my first water bill if it comes back high. The hot and cold water for the washing machine were hooked up wrong. So they need to be switched. Your staff has poor communication skills. I wasn’t told that you don’t do move ins until after 2 pm. Luckily a staff member got me my keys early. I paid rent for that whole day so that is dumb.

I am on my 6th lease term here at The Retreat at Lake Johnson. Its my favorite slice of heaven in such a big city. Office staff and maintenance team are always accommodating and pleasant. I love the sense of community we feel here. Logan is one of the best Property Managers this place has had.

So far, I've enjoyed the area but the apartment had several major problems upon moving in. AC unit doesn't work, and the first window unit I was brought didn't work either so I haven't been able to live here yet. I am genuinely excited about this place, but it's been a little bit rough. The price is right and being by the lake is nice, but the buildings are old and lacking upgrades, parking is sometimes hard, and there have been a couple of crime incidents in the neighborhood

It's a nice place to live. I have been here for 3 years now. I did have issues with maintenance, but now that the new company has taken over, things have been improving. I wish that there were more things for kids instead of pets.

The community is quite nice. We've been here 5 years and have seen residents come and go. The location is very convenient shopping, getting to work quickly, and the amenities are very nice and enjoyable. The fact that we have google fiber is definitely a major plus to our convenience. The staff of our community is very nice and respectful to our living spaces and communications. They also answer very promptly. The only reason for the 4 stars is the fact that we are still living with pests. They were here before the name change and we have tried fixing the issue ourselves. We are hoping this issue gets resolved soon and our rating will change to 5 stars. Other then the pests, we have been very happy with the apartment and the community.

As of now, I have no problems. There have been some quirks but communication was easy and effective. Apartment was decently clean when we moved in, and there was actually an extra amenity I didn’t think we would have, so that was nice.

Nice, quiet community that is close to the lake. It's at a good location you can quickly hop on the highway. Facilities are okay as the gym is not cleaned or equipment maintained. Good maintenance service that is quick.

When we first moved in it was easy to communicate maintenance needs, and we could expect them to be handled in a timely manner. We have not had the same type of response in the last year, maintenance requests have either been ignored or we haven't been communicated with about a timeline. The office staff is overall great and helpful, especially since the new company took over. We feel comfortable walking into the office and having our needs addressed. Very happy about the new fob for the pool as last year non-residents kept messing it up for everyone. This is a great sign that residents are being heard Hoping with the new company things will go more smoothly.

I moved in October 2021 I’ve been very happy here! Great location, love the screened in porch and the fireplace. I feel the apartment is very cozy For as many buildings that are here the noise is minimal Staff has been great as well

Positive, for the most part. I have had issues getting specific issues addressed. Everyone seems dedicated to working with tenants to make living here enjoyable.
So far a great place to live been here since December. Office staff are very helpful. Loving the updated look. New management is nice. Hopefully continue to be this way

It’s an older place so has a few quirks. Also, someone’s car got stolen during the night, that’s scary. I do enjoy the area as it is easy to get to places around the city. I like the wooded area for walking and the swimming pool is nice to have. I do know that there are updated apartments but then you pay more to have them.

I enjoy living at The Retreat at Lake Johnson. The apartment is comfortable and the community is attractive and well kept. The 24 hour fitness center is clean and the machines are well kept and working. I enjoy having access to retrieve my packages 24 hours a day. Also, the maintenance team is efficient in completing work orders. I recommend living at The Retreat at Lake Johnson.

This apartment is great if you like living in the deep dark wilderness. The musty smell, the cave like sunlight, and bug sanctuary really give the apartment its charm! Not to mention you make tons of friends including strange men who look into windows at the wee hours of the morning. I certainly loved every single cabinet door falling off in our kitchen, it really opened up the space. I think the only down side of the apartment was the mountainous speed bumps and pot holes leading up to your oasis.
Apartments are run of the mill. But the management is bottom of the barrel. It'd be easier to fake my own death than to quickly and efficiently sign the roommate release form. Took 2 months thanks to these guys having some sort of "unresolved IT issue" and them taking their sweet time to fix it. Because of that, I lost several, SEVERAL, better apartment opportunities. During that whole debacle, I'd email again and AGAIN and nothing would come of it until 3-4 days later, by which time the apartment I had in mind elsewhere had been sold. Also a bad idea to go to the office, because two people will come in at the same time and tell you different things right in front of you. Only rent here if you want an extremely frustrating experience with your leasing office!
If you never need a work order completed, never have a question regarding your lease, never want your apartment sprayed for bugs, maybe it's not bad, but the moment you need something, management is absent. I have sent in work orders about mold, water damage, wildlife breaking into my outdoor storage, pest control, etc. and most of the time they get closed without being addressed at all, and I'm automatically emailed a survey to rate my lack of experience. If a work order is addressed, it's because I followed it up with a call or email. Even discussing the lease renewal (we're unfortunately not in a position where we can easily leave yet) it was so difficult to get my questions answered, and it seemed like the individual at the desk didn't understand their own lease and what it meant. I also got a terrible rash from the pool the day before it was mysteriously closed due to "vandalism" and they had to "balance the chemicals". I was on antibiotics for 10 days. Location is nice. Walking trail out back, lake is very close by. You're a short drive to campus and right off i40 but it feels secluded. Is it worth dealing with an ineffective, disinterested management? No.
I have been here for 2 months now and I thoroughly enjoy it! The office and maintenance staff are kind, and aim to be efficient! The property itself is an established community, so not Class A luxury, but I am 100% ok with that. It has its quirks as any older property does, but these things were not deal breakers for me (i.e- no overhead lights - ok buy more lamps, kinda thing!) What I think I loved the most is the bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment (mom here who sometimes just needs a moment to herself) The management company is still fairly new so I understand there are growing pains, however I personally feel the staff certainly aims to please residents, not just prospects alone. I highly recommend this place. Based on price point and location, you wont find anything better! 40 is directly on the front of the property, and if you come out the backside of the property, Crossroads is quite literally 7 mins away!
