What began as a resort getaway for the Low Country elite in the 19th century has blossomed into a thriving community on the outer edge of the Charleston area. Countless buildings in town have been added to the National Register of Historic Places, so the local architecture definitely contributes to the charming atmosphere.
The town has experienced massive growth since the 1980s, meaning many of the apartments and homes are fairly new, and the cost of living is very affordable compared to many places closer to the city. Only about 30 minutes to downtown Charleston via I-26, it’s a great place for commuters to call home. Parents will appreciate the terrific local schools and family-friendly events like the annual Flowertown Festival.

Property Ratings at Arbor Village
the apartments themselves are nice. the dog park could be nicer, the fence is short and broken in a few places. other than that the community is nice, quiet and all the neighbors are friendly.
Moved into Arbor village over Labor Day weekend I really enjoy the neighborhood so far. It’s quiet, the cable and WiFi comes included into rent. There is also washer and dryer in every unit
The rent keeps getting higher for management not to fix things in the apartment when they break in a timely fashion. Nothing is done when people don’t pick up poop after their dogs. Valet Trash is better. I don’t want my packages taken to the locker cause it is left on the floor. I want my packages delivered to my door. Schedule a time to do preventative maintenance with each tenant. Not as a group always. Fix the exterior doors so the cracks are not so big and you let all the bugs in from outside. Spray the breezeways for bugs. No one likes leaving home at 3:30am swatting flying roaches and seeing lizards on the rails. If this wasn’t the closest apartment to my children school, I would move. You have a lot of good, just fix the small things that I hear other people mention but may not say out loud.
Nice complex. Friendly, office is slow to answer sometimes but overall good! Trash valet is on time usually, apartment is updated and pool is closed a good bit but overall decent complex
Really a very nice and calm community. Very polite and supportive staffs and a very easy to move in to this community. Well maintained amenities.
Arbor Village Apartments is an incredible place to call home! The community is beautifully maintained, with a lush, green grass area that’s perfect for relaxing, walking pets, or enjoying a picnic with friends. It adds a peaceful, park-like feel to the property and really makes the space feel welcoming. The pool area is equally impressive—clean, spacious, and perfect for cooling off on a warm day. Whether you're swimming laps or just lounging poolside, it's a fantastic place to unwind. The grounds overall are quiet and well-kept, and the apartments themselves are comfortable, modern, and thoughtfully laid out. Staff and maintenance are friendly and responsive, making it easy to feel at home from day one. Arbor Village truly combines comfort, convenience, and community in one great package. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing place to live, this is definitely a top choice. Highly recommended!
Enjoying our new experience with the community! We had a smooth move in process with the help of Lakesia. We enjoy the amenities that the property offers. The spacious kitchen and open living room concept is our favorite so far. Our kids are enjoying the park and pool. We hope to have the best experience with the community until we buy our home.
I’ve lived at this apartment complex for or a while and unfortunately, it has gone downhill fast. The pool is closed more often than it’s open. Litter is a constant issue. No one seems to take responsibility for keeping the property clean. There is currently an entire car bumper sitting outside one of the buildings. While the newly redone driveways are nice, they don’t make much of a difference when the rest of the property looks so unkempt. They also recently did some landscaping, but only between the office and the “show” apartment, clearly just for appearances. The dog park is another major concern. It’s not a clean place for dogs. Residents rarely clean up after their pets, and the management no longer hires a service to maintain it. If you’re touring, I strongly recommend driving around the entire property before making a decision. This place used to be decent, but the lack of upkeep and care from management is really disappointing.
Great staff. Amazing apartment. Clean, comfortable and efficient space for the family. They keep the community updated with any issues that there are for the communities pool, grill, fire pit, and gym.
Overall this is a great community with lots of amenities. I like that we can submit maintenance requests on residents portal. Saves time having to visit lease office.
I absolutely love it here. Only thing I remotely don’t like is the fact that it’s a first come first serve for parking. The pool is amazing. It’s quiet for the most part. I love my aromatic ice machine. ALSO THE AC WORKS!!! Love love love that.
I have been living in Arbor Village for the past 7 years. Despite some changes in staffing, my quality of living here has maintained a pretty good standing.
we had such an amazing experience! Lakisha was wonderful, and she’s caring and genuine, she made us feel welcome in our new place! The neighborhood as well kept and clean.
Good I love my community and my landlord and they are so nice and I love my neighbors and the gym is great and coffee is really good and I can’t wait until events in our community come
The place is kids friendly, quiet and clean. The only downside is the limited parking g spaces auto accommodate residents and their visitors
Its very peaceful here its quiet people here is nice the only bad thing is trash is on the ground. I love the apartment size its very spacious and i love the layout.
Really nice complex, love the pool and how quiet the area can be. Never too crazy which is nice when you just want to relax. Parking is great as well!
Don’t let the reviews fools you. What they care to avoid mentioning is the amount of roaches that appear in your building during the warm months. I’m a VERY clean person and the amount of roaches I find is disgusting. Also, the gym feels like 100 degrees which makes working out extremely uncomfortable. I had initially enjoyed my stay but over the past year I realized this place wasn’t what it was made out to be. The garbage dump is disgusting by the end of the weekend which makes the place unappealing, and the breezeways are gross too. In addition, the pool has been closed a lot more recently which ruins the summer enjoyment.
Pool seems to be closed a lot. Nice area just never been to the pool yet because of constant closures. Still never had a window repaired since move in. But modern cozy place. Neighbors are wonderful
The rent seems to vary quite a bit from what you are told at the beginning, and repairs seem slow to come. The maintenance people are great, but they need the supplies and more people to help.
Everyone has been friendly and welcoming, it’s my quiet retreat away from the noise of the world. I love it here! Any and everything that you could need is available in your home.
Great quiet community. Beautiful area and not far from shopping and food! I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone. If you have time come check it out yourself!
My wife and I have lived here for 5 years. They’ve been through multiple management companies. Clubhouse amenities are in disrepair. Staff and maintenance are friendly. For what we pay in rent, I’d expect everything to be functioning.
The community is a friendly clean well kept environment and the leasing staff is fast and efficient! My apartment home was clean and the layout is very spacious! I think I’m going to like it here.
The process of moving in was super smooth and we’ve absolutely loved it so far! The staff is very helpful and the maintenance are always ready!
nice community I have enjoyed living here for the past two years. nice staff. there is nice kids in the area for my son to play with. the pool is usually clean and always ready for use in the summer
So far I love it here ms Reed has been a good help since I moved in any issues I've had she was right on it no hesitation, she was so nice and worked very diligently to get me approved as well as to make sure I was happy once moving in, it is a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood
The dog park needs a little work and the weekend trash is crazy. But other than that it’s a very nice quiet place to live. I have a family of 5 and it’s cozy but big enough. Decent place so far.
Maintained pretty well, never had mold or pest issues, cheaper than most in the GCA but only in price, quality is better than most at the price range.
I thoroughly enjoy my home here ! The grounds are always kept , the pool area is open year round , the gym is top notch and the staff is always accessible!
My bathtub faucet is still not working properly. They were supposed to order to the parts last year and I Anything from them so I submitted another form and it’s been a couple of weeks. I have not heard anything from anyone. The dog park gate is still broken not repaired the parking lot lights quite a few of them are not working. That’s really a safety hazard for us, women walking our dogs in the evening time. I wish we could really get some help. Also, I would like to see some baby senior group starting up with something of some sort something for us to do anything you can do. Would it be an improvement?
I have lived here for a year and have had a good experience. The staff is friendly and no issues with neighbors. I have not experienced or heard of any crime in the area. The only problem right now may not be in managements control, but the entrance has been unpaved and ridden with potholes for months now, with the exit getting flooded during heavy rains. It is one of those feelings that the cost of rent is too high to have this occurrence. Overall, I do enjoy living here. The atmosphere and peace of mind definitely makes it worth it. I can see the new management team making improvements during the length of my stay, so I am confident that the entrance to the complex will get done.
I have lived her for about a years. Rent keeps going up but they aren’t doing anything to take care of the neighborhood. I would not recommend.
Arbor Village is a beautiful community to live. I love the building I live in. The staff could be a bit more welcoming. Do understand that the rent price is ok but you have to pay for the extra amenities and that is not an option to decline them . When moving here ask for a complete total price including everything not just rent.
The stay here has been very nice, relaxing and quiet. I like the gym which is easy access for a quick workout when I’m running short on time.
wish the landscaping was prettier, all the hay that’s down looks like dead grass, even just grass would look good, doesn’t need to be anything fancy. all the neighbors are very friendly and it’s a quiet little area.
I enjoy living here wish it was grass outside the apartments not hay though would look nicer! More flowers would be nice too just to make it look cleaner
Needs some improvement with communication. Safety issues need fixed in complex. (Parking lot lights, mailbox lights, etc). Hard to get ahold of anyone at the office. Do think units are a little overpriced for what you get. Lots kf newer complexes they are less.
Easy and fast move in process with excellent staff. Lakiesia was so friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean, and everything was ready for me.
I love the Apartment community very quiet and clean . The leasing process was very easy and quick. I line the build in WiFi and the fast service. Gym always clean and ready to go.
No complaints so far love it. Everything was smooth and easy great staff. Can't wait to get settled in. Will definitely encourage people to live here.
The office staff is great and it’s a relatively quiet neighborhood. My biggest complaint has to be the trash piling up every so often but the valet trash kind of makes up for it.
The new management is really on top of things. There’s a lot of general improvements around the complex, they’re friendly, responsive, and seem to really care about the quality of life for residents here.
The valted celings are nice, but I would give them up if it means not hearing everything my neighbors do and say all day and night. Trash is not picked up as scheduled. This leads to piles on the curbs and a mess at the dumpster when you first drive in. There has not been a working parking lot light near the 500 building in the 2 years we have lived here. It is extremely dark in the morning when leaving for work. We have had cars broken into, and this just makes them easy targets. I will say it is obvious that the new owners are taking care of things. The light in the parking lot is a safety issue that needs attention, though.
Our move was great and we were welcomed warmly. The handbook was a great help! We experience trash collection problems frequently and people refuse to clean up after their dogs. Both of these things lead to a very unattractive village.
Since I have been a resident here there has been a different manager and staff and inconsistency. The most frustrating part lately was the water issues and new owners just sprung an extra bill on all residence. I have been very disappointed in how the breeze ways were so nasty but they eventually got to it and not sure when they will clean again. The garbage pick up is inconsistent and the trash sits at the entry of the complex piled up for days. We pay a lot of money to live here and what we pay for sometimes doesn't amount to the service provided. You pay for pest control monthly but have to request it, it should be a regular scheduled maintenance to each unit. I understand that new owners have taken over but it would be nice of they would not increase the rates so hight each renewal, people are doing their best and they keep adding more to the cost of living. I appreciate the communication from Matthew and Lauren during changed. I hope things continue to get better.
People friendly overall but some people not picking up after their dogs! Nice weight room and fre coffee and hot chocolate machine is free! Place to sit and visit while having coffee at the clubhouse
Friendly staff and willing to work with you if you are having any issue with anything. Normally respond back to you quickly when you trying to reach them if they aren't available
It’s a nice place to live but the trash pickup people are a little slack with trash left and dripping down the stairs. The teenage kids are in the pool lounge area all the time, and really loud, and rude but they are teenagers so it’s expected.
I like the building, service requests have always been answered with speed- except of course, hvac complaints. This thing wants 140 characters but there’s not much else to say. It’s an apartment.
