Property Ratings at Annhurst (MD)
I have lived here for 3 months and it is awful. The places are outdated wall paper old looking. Everything takes for ever to get resolved. Just don’t move here it’s terrible!
Yes the management changes often, and yes the property is older. However, the neighbors are nice, the community is small enough and very tucked in so there is no large traffic. Yet the community is very close to 95 and nearby malls and stores. Maintenance could be little slow, but no major issues. There are some perks that only come with these types of apartments- no steps and one level apartments and cottage style interiors. People only leave bad reviews because when they experience something not satisfying they want to let others know, but really how many of us leave positive reviews when you get what you want/need? it's the money worth in my opinion.
Horribly run. Crappy apartments. Poor management, maintenance doesn't do job. Nothing gets fixed from the smallest problem to major problems. You can bring things to their attention for years and they still don't get things done. When you call maintenance it goes unanswered with no return call after message left. They don't care about their renters or property one bit! Even contacting the company who owns property gets you no answer and nothing done. Management is rarely in office during their posted hours either. DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
Terribly run. Crappy condition. Maintenance is a handy man in over his head- who takes FOREVER. The wallpapering, trim and such literally look like some novice's DIY project. Floors are not level. The water gets really cloudy when it rains. Water pressure is so low you are powerless to do anything until the toilet SLOWLY refills or the dishwasher finishes its cycle. My mailbox is literally 4 buildings away. There's a mailbox literally around the corner but I must drive 1.5 blocks in to get my mail. They're too cheap to install larger, more centrally located mailboxes! By the time you add in the separate charges for water & trash and another few bucks to RENT A WASHER AND DRYER (IF you're lucky enough to get one) it amounts to practically the same price as other places that include a washer/dryer, have more professional maintenance and are in MUCH better condition than Annhurst. Management is elusive. They tell you want to hear to get you, then you find out the real deal: shabby digs, shabby maintenance, broken promises and managers that hide behind voicemail - from the bottom to the top. No one EVER returns calls left on Elon's so-called 'customer care' line. Elon is Jewish-owned and operated so the office closes early on Friday and closes every sabbath, so weekend service is a non-starter. The ONLY good thing is the tenants. The people here are nice and neighborly and it's very quiet (except for plenty traffic noise during the day). Most everyone has the same complaints but suffer in silence. The only thing Elon truly cares about is money. Tenants are a means to that end. There is NO GRACE PERIOD for rent. Eviction papers are filed on the 2nd of the month. They come hard after you for every red cent they're owed but you can expect nothing but the bare minimum in return for your dollar - when they get around to it! Give your money to someone who has the decency to at least pretend that you and your money matter. Stear clear of this place!
Management here is wonderful and very nice. Our apartment itself is small, and you can tell kind of old. We did get new carpet, bathroom vanity and vinyl floor in kitchen and laundry room area before moving in. Sadly it has an old smoke smell to it that we can not seem to get rid of. The walls were not repainted like we were told and are kind of dirty and have some holes in them. We had to ask to have screens put in the windows and one has some small tears in it, they don't fit real well so we had to put tape around them to try and keep the bugs out. I wish they were a little bit more taken care of, otherwise it is a nice place to live and the location is nice and quiet. It is in a great location and close to a lot of things.
