Property Ratings at The Elle Apartments
For the most part my experience living at the Elle has been a blessing. I LOVE the view & The building is beautiful & amenities are awesome! The staff is very nice & helpful. How ever, a few things I can't stand, that make me discourage about living here long term. 1 the walls are way too thin. It's ok occasionally to hear neighbors, I understand we are in an apartment but for a luxury apartment they shouldn't be so cheap & build the walls so thin. My new neighbor to left of me, is obviously young, maybe a college student, she is loud too often , plays loud music, has loud company all the time, comes in loud talking all times of the night & early morning , instead of using the common area for company or going into the game room when its open, or something. She has no consideration of her neighbors just every day is way too loud. I have complained about the loud music that was daily & that has stopped but why does the Elle management not discuss noise, when new tenants are moving in? They didn't with me, I just learned the walls were thin from a neighbor that knocked on my door the 1st day I moved in to complain about the noise I was making from moving in my stuff smh I couldn't believe it, its hard to move in super quiet it will be some bumping. But any way, the other issue is rats in the parking garage, on the 1st floor where the entrance is, there is a gap from outside to the garage that could easily be covered or sealed up. I seen a few times rats running in form there. I complained about this to management & was told they have maintenance look into, but nothing ever got done. I'm paranoid every time I enter & leave the garage to go back into the Elle Building, it's uncomfortable. We just pay too much money to have to see rats!!! I use to live in Englewood & I shouldn't have to see rats here, at a luxury apartment! & the package room is too often a mess & difficult to find your packages, again I pay too much money to go thru this inconvenience. I Am a bit disappointed for the amount of money I pay to have to deal wit these inconveniences. Thank You

The apartments are beautiful. The amenities are great. The view is great! The location is great. The walls are thin unfortunately. Most of the staff is great but honestly, I’m disappointed because the mail room is horrible beyond unprofessional and there’s rats coming in the parking lot that could be an easy fix if they cover up where they’re coming in on the first floor by the entrance by the door and the trashcan and the parking situation is such an inconvenience no one should have to walk miles or take Ubers paying extra money until it’s time for them to be up next on the waiting list! I just paid way too much money for these inconveniences and I chose this place because they had EV chargers for free and the area is great and it’s a beautiful apartment building. The staff has been pretty good , especially front desk but management fixing certain problems like the Mail room and the parking situation and the rats have been neglected.

The staff at the Elle is amazing , helpful & kind. I love my apartment it’s an amazing few & so far so good. I have to honest I don’t like the parking situation no one should have to wait months to get a parking space & I chose The Elle bcz they had Electric car charging & I can’t even charge my car where I live is a inconvenience & I’m truly disappointed, it’s been super stressful the parking situation. & the mail room is chaotic, I pray they hire a person or 2 to get it organized and together. Other than that it’s been a beautiful place to live, so far. I just moved in not even a week.

Everyone in the leasing office is exceptional. The Front Desk attendants are always so friendly and kind. And we appreciate the maintenance and custodial workers for keeping the building very clean and well maintained. The Elle provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. I feel exceptionally comfortable throughout the building and have no concerns about my safety. Additionally, the staff are all very pleasant and accommodating.

To improved the living experience at the Elle, there has to be a vested interest for all. Currently, it is as if only the vested interested in this community comes from the residents. Management does not answer emails in a timely manner. Amenities are inoperable. There is no lifestyle assistant available to show residents how to properly manage televisions, gaming systems, WiFi, Bluetooth, not to mention that there is no intentionally about safety and security. People are able to roam freely in this building. There are no checks and balances to control smoking of any kind in this smoke free building.

Don't recommend. I never write a review for apartments but I think people should be warned of wrongful hidden charges. I was charged additional renter's insurance unknowingly because it was not on my statement. They send out a statement for a different amount than charged to my bank. I only found out when I moved they said I still owe renter's insurance. Then I noticed the discrepancy. I uploaded my own renters insurance online in the verification system. In addition, I sent email for verification when I initially moved in. Now they said I need proof which the proof I provided was not valid without confirmation from their verification place. My experience the verification center don't send confirmation emails. In addition, my car was damaged during construction in their garage and they did not reimbursed me for the damage. Vandalization is common there. In addition, prior tenant to my apartment had a stalker; they apartment management let them have access to my apartment door. I would find food left at my door constantly. When I report it, they still continue to let the person in.

Nice building with great amenities and friendly personnel. Not really soundproof, you can hear your neighbors pretty clear and the train that runs behind the building, even if you are on a high floor. The non-smoking policy is not followed, usually the hallways smell like Marihuana.

The new management company, Waterton is horribly unprofessional. They cant return phone calls or emails for months on end. Plenty of professionally managed high rises in south loop. Take your business elsewhere

This building has a new management company that does not communicate well and constantly makes e-mail mistakes about rent charges

The Elle is loaded with amenities. Staff are pleasant and the apartments are comfortable. The Elle is perfectly located in the South Loop near Printers' Row and The Shops at Roosevelt. Trains are close and Uber definitely know where the building is, renters and their visitors can easily access home!

The apartment community is walking distance to restaurants, wine bars, multiple coffee options, Blue and Red Aline trains, in addition to a Metra Line South.
Great location,close by highway.Building is very clean,well managed and family oriented.I loved my apartment high ceiling and lake view!
The property is clean & always smells good. I love walking into the lobby, it smells like a spa & the front desk staff always greets you with a smile. The maintenance team is responsive & nice.
We had a great time at Alta Roosevelt. The communication was super easy and quick. The neighborhood is very conveniently located and although it’s a lively neighborhood the apartment is tranquil! I would absolutely recommend staying here

I absolutely LOVE Alta Roosevelt. The moment you walk in, you feel like you’re home from the amazing amenities to the wonderful staff. Kyle, Rebecca, Zee & Tina have made my time here unforgettable and I wish everyone had the chance to live at such a wonderful place. Martha from maintenance always has the warmest smile while keeping the building and tidy. The views are breathtaking and the resident events that they throw are really well thought out and fun!
Alta Roosevelt has really really great rooms and off-the-charts amenities. It better, because it's really expensive!
Alta Roosevelt has been my home for the last several years. The location and amenities are top tier and the service is outstanding! If you’re relocating to Chicago or moving within the city, you should check out this place.

The space is gorgeous and offers a lot of amenities. The leasing agents are wonderful help. They answer all questions that you have and really help you through the process. I worked with both Danny and Rebecca and they were a tremendous help.

Went on a tour today (Friday 2/25) with Danielle and also met her director. Both were extremely nice and pleasant from the time I arrived. Appreciate the warm welcome received upon entering, the tour was phenomenal and honestly breath taking to see in person. Would absolutely encourage anyone who views the property online to see it in person, because the staff provide you with details about the property that immediately make you ready to call this place home. I also loved the diversity of the staff and residents, which also felt great as many places downtown often do not have this element.

Alta Roosevelt was my first apartment in Chicago. I chose this location because of the numerous amenities and decent price. Staff have always been super friendly and I have been very happy with my apartment. Improvements could be made overall though, which may have factored into my decision to sign here. The hot tub was not available all summer (neighboring buildings seemed to have theirs open), weve had issues with the garage gate opening (can make you late for things), and issues with amenity technology (4th flatscreen not turning on , 4th floor multiscreen HDMI not projecting correctly, poor wifi connectivity in 3rd floor office).
Ive lived here for a few years and could not be happier to call Alta Roosevelt my home.
Great staff, location, amenities & neighborhood. Love being able to walk to the lake front, restaurants & shopping is very convenient.
