Wonderful Gem close to uptown
Practically, Uptown location, with small town prices. Great and wonderful place to live great space, huge ceilings. Wonderful staff, best in the game. Which throw amazing events for us on location to mingle and meet new and old residents. Fun games and prizes a pretty much all events. 10/10. Would definitely recommend

Great community!
Been at Alta Purl for a month and we absolutely love it! Alyssa and Olivia are great to work with and very responsive! Community has great events and is always keeping the tenants engaged. Gym has great equipment. Only downside is that there tends to be a lot of dog poop around the building and I know this is not Alta Purls fault and more the residents that do not clean up and possibly from non residents who don't clean up after their pets. A few cameras around the building to catch these culprits may help.

Really satisfied one month in
I have lived at Alta Purl for a month now, and I came from a Southend apartment previously. I will say that we got unbeatable value with the apartment we got, with walkable trails nearby still and not too far from everything. Alyssa Hogan was great to work with in the touring, lease signing process & move in! Great location, great value for our spacious apartment, very competitive amenities thus far.

A kind and beautiful community
I toured the property with Alyssa who was wonderful. She was so helpful, nice, and thorough. I noticed she knew everyone we passed by name and greeted them all. The property itself is beautiful, very clean, and quiet with well maintained amenities. I signed to lease and cannot wait to be back to Alta Purl!

I love living here
I’ve been living at Alta Purl since 2021, and I absolutely love it here. The location is unbeatable, with Uptown, Optimist Hall, and NoDa all just a short distance away. The convenience of being so close to everything, including my short commute to work, has been a major plus. The staff here is incredible—always friendly and helpful. I’ve also gone through two seamless unit transfers, and the process each time was smooth and stress-free. If you’re looking for a place with a great location, supportive staff, and a real sense of community, Alta Purl is definitely worth considering!

Do not live here!
Do not live here, this was my first apartment experience out of college and could not move out faster once the lease was up. There were so many issues in the year I lived there, my AC went out in the middle of the Summer and they said it was "non emergent" and didn't come fix it for 4 days. My apt was so hot I had to stay with friends. The plumbing in my apt went out and they also considered that "non emergent" even though I didn't have a bathroom to use. Cars got hit in the parking deck, mine and multiple others, and the property management did nothing, leaving the residents to pay for all damages. The parking deck is poorly built, too narrow and can't see people coming around. I had multiple packages stolen from the package room because they are all just sitting on shelves and anyone in there can grab them and when it happens the leasing office is no help at all, the camera in the package room isn't even real. The leasing office is hard to get into contact with in general. There was constantly trash in the hallways and even animal poop. The area itself is not walkable at all. The only place you can walk to is Optimist Hall, which is nice to have but still your only option with the highway on the other side. All that said, for how much money you are going to be paying live somewhere else.

Alta Purl is a poor excuse for "luxury"
I've lived at Alta Purl for 3 years now. This "luxury" apartment building has all the amenities you could want, a gym, rooftop sky-lounge, pool, and courtyard. These areas are fine, the pool is clean, the gym is updated every now and then, whatever. The thing you're ACTUALLY going to use, the apartment itself, is honestly pretty nice. It's spacious, high ceilings, updated fixtures, nice kitchen, nice bathrooms. The vinyl flooring is annoying to clean. But the biggest issue is that this apartment building, like so many other new builds in the past decade, has paper thin walls and ceilings. You can hear EVERYTHING between floors. Walking normally through the hallways sounds like slamming bricks into the floor, and the same is true for the apartment above you. I can hear my upstairs neighbor laughing, talking, walking, slamming doors, screaming, television, everything, you name it. Their roomba that they run daily sounds like a bowling ball rolling across the ceiling. Their cats running around sound like a horse galloping. What happens when you report the excessive noise to the front office? Nothing! The first dozen or so times, they'll call them and ask them to quiet down (Which does nothing, of course). Then, when you send them a lengthy email, they respond once, and then ignore you. I had to get my attorney involved to be able to break the lease early and leave. If you don't mind noise and a lackluster front office, this place is for you. Alta Purl
Incredible facility, incredible staff and the pool is amazing. I’ve been living here for over 3 years and it’s been fantastic. I’ve sign 3 leases and it’s a very safe area of Noda. Highly recommended and it has WiFi all throughout the facility.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER !
I loved living at Purl. I was new to Charlotte and they always had great events to get neighbors out of their apartments. The property was always clean and maintenance was very quick to solve any problems. I am definitely sad that I had to leave . The best part about living in Charlotte !

Do It For The Community Events
My roommate and I have lived here for over a year and a half and really enjoy it. One of the reasons we chose this building was because of the many events they host to help you meet your neighbors and make friends (since many of us in Charlotte move from out of state, this was a HUGE help). We now have a solid group of friends in the building, and met every one at the events. They’re always a good time!

The apartment tour was very well organized. So far, this apartment has the best amenities this is the place to live if you want a gorgeous apartment with great amenities and a friendly staff. The events are interesting, the site is close to Uptown and has a nice view, and the sky lounge is the most notable feature.

Best place to live
We've been in Alta Purl for almost 2 month now, and we've had a fantastic time thus far. The apartment tour was very well organized. So far, this apartment has the best amenities and events of any I've seen. Alyssa and Olivia helped us with the application and move-in process. Staff is amazing and helpful with any question I had. Events are intuitive and well thought out. At night it is quiet and the apt is secure with key fobs at all entrances along with elevators.

This place is terrible…truly terrible
In addition to the constant puddles of dog urine in the elevators and the stairwells, Alta Purl has a ongoing problem with malfunctioning fire alarms. Fire alarms are going off on a weekly basis, sometimes more than once a day and often for over an hour at a time. I don’t know if the building is poorly constructed, poorly maintained, or poorly run - it really doesn’t matter. This place is awful and I would recommend anybody looking for accommodations in the Charlotte area to look elsewhere. Alta Purl is the bottom of the barrel.

We are a very pet friendly community, so it would be impossible for accidents not to happen. However, we are also fortunate to have a very responsive service team and to have the unique benefit of not one, but 2 full-time housekeeping associates who cover the community 6 days a week. If you ever see anything that needs attention, it only takes a call. Please do not allow other frustrations to be taken out on these two associates who work extremely hard to take care of a large community. We understand the frustration when the fire alarm goes off as it is unexpected and disruptive. As with anything mechanical, there are repairs and they are not always a quick and easy fix, but the service team and vendors respond quickly and all available resources are put into whatever is needed to correct it. Nickle and Dime
This place will nickle and dime you on everything. They charge you like 3 or 4 different ways just for trash. Once I had to break my lease they really started piling on. I haven't lived in the complex since June yet I still get an electric bill now, in August. They told me I should have cancelled the account with Duke but when I tried that in June/July I was unable to...assuming because the complex won't allow it unless they prompt it. As soon as management found out I was breaking my lease their whole attitude changed and they were only concerned with milking me for as much money as possible.

We are disappointed that you left the community with frustrations. While we are always sad to see one leave, we strive for the process to be as smooth as possible. As far as the trash and any charges, they are very transparent prior to leasing and broken out so one can see what is charged and there are no surprises. If a lease contract is broken, there are fees to break a lease as it is a contract. This is the case in breaking most contracts. However, the Duke electric bill is not part of that. As when one moves in, the Duke account is set up independently by the resident and the community has no access to one's account. Electric would have to remain on until the end of one's notice period, but the resident would need to arrange disconnect and/or transfer to another address if they are continuing to use Duke. The Best!!
I love everything about my apartment! I feel safe coming home at night and knowing strangers can’t access the building. The events are definitely top tier!! I don’t plan on moving anytime soon

Alta Purl has been one of the best apartment complexes I have lived in! They have such great amenities but my favorite part about this place is that they always try and do events for residents! Autumn made my experience wonderful!
I was already under a very strict timeline because I was relocating from NY/NJ to NC due to a job offer. Autumn made my move in experience wonderful! She answered all of my questions, made me feel comfortable, and got me in to my apartment exactly when I needed it. The property is also beautiful! Everyone is so friendly and tries to collectively keep the building looking wonderful. If you are considering moving in just do it!

I love living here. Maintenance is responsive and the amenities are very nice. Most recently, Tyrone fixed some cabinets for us and he was very professional and fast. The building is new and seems to be maintained very well. There are a few oddities like you have to purchase and install your own overhead light fixtures/fans. Or you can rent them from the apartment complex in which case maintenance will install them.

Great location!
I went with my daughter time look at apartments in Charlotte. We walked into the Alta Purl and noticed the upbeat inviting entrance. We spoke with the leasing agents who were happy to show us around and answer all of our questions fully. The place is almost brand new. My favorite things were the rooftop, location, and security of the building.

Has it all
Admittedly, I have high customer service expectations, especially where I live and since the market in Charlotte is so competitive, residents have choices. Alta Purl staff, Autumn, have been top of their game since our tour in January. Any issue has been a non-issue because theyre receptive and find solutions. As for the apartment, I've dated people in various comparable communities and know that Alta Purl is exemplary compared to the top five in the City at the same price point/proximity. The walls/floors aren't thin like many of the complexes built overnight in Charlotte. The complex and parking deck as a whole are kept pristine. Rules for people with pets are enforced and it's no smoking so other people's lifestyle doesn't impede on you like in some complexes. The rules are enforced to ensure order among large community living. We are in a great location, accessible to Charlotte's most entertaining neighborhoods. Being brand new helps, but most complexes here are. Salt water pool, office spaces, great gym, and staff organizes relevant, good events that can help if you're new here and want to acclimate to food, businesses, or neighbors. Downside is probably that more people are moving in and we don't have it all to ourselves. But it seems it's attracting people from all over the country and world who are moving to the Queen City, so there's the bonus.
