Welcome to the Addis Building! Opened in 1929, this was once home to the W.I. Addis Co. department store. For decades the Addis Co. was known as Syracuse's high-end department store along the South Salina Street corridor. After years of neglect, the ownership team took on a certified historic redevelopment project, converting the building to 18 apartments, two floors of office space and beautiful rooftop deck. The Armory contains a large concentration of restaurants and bars as well as several unique shops.
Some of Downtown Syracuse's most beloved landmarks include the Clinton Square Ice Rink, the Museum of Science and Technology, and the historic Landmark Theatre. The ornate theater, decorated in rich red and gold, first opened in 1928. Another landmark, the McCarthy Building, was built in 1894 and is the oldest building in Syracuse.
