Acasa Vista Towers

The application process was a mess, which should have been my first sign to turn and run! I initially submitted an application with a $75 fee, but was denied so, my parents needed to cosign for me. They also had to pay $75 for an application, which was eventually accepted. The leasing office would not issue a refund for my application, because the payment already went through and they claimed they did not have access to the funds anymore. On my official move in day, Acasa Vista Towers was nothing short a nightmare. The leasing office gave a short tour of the amenities, but did not take us to the apartment which I would be moving into. As soon as my family walked into the lobby of the 4000 building, there was a putrid smell of marijuana and mustiness. Nevertheless, we made our way to my unit, where the unwelcoming smells grew. As we inspected the apartment, it was apparent that the unit was not cleaned before move-in. The floors were stained with a white substance making its way from the bathroom out into the living room. There was dust everywhere and stains on all the appliances. The only redeeming factor about this complex is the maintenance staff. I submitted multiple requests to throughout my one year stay, and they were always quick to respond and worked very efficiently. Jason, one of the amazing members of the maintenance staff, was on his hands and knees scrubbing the white substance off of the floor on move-in day to make sure it was in acceptable condition. I initially signed my lease for $1185 a month for a 1-bedroom apartment. However, they pile on multiple monthy fees, like a $60 payment processing fee, $40 camera charges, and many others which would bring my monthly total to well over $1400 a month. Oh, also, my next-door neighbor passed away in his apartment within the first month of me moving in and was decomposing in there for nearly 2 weeks. The smells were atrocious, and also led to a major cockroach infestation in my apartment. It took the complex well over a month to address the issue, deep clean, and remodel the unit. I asked if I could move apartments since I had an adjoining wall with the deceased tenant and the smells/bugs were out of control. However, I was told I would have to break my lease, pay $2500, and reapply for a new unit if I wanted to switch apartments. The bugs never went away, and the smells didn’t either.

Lots of Cockroaches, but my biggest complaint is easily the staff. They are terrible. It seems every time I need to ask a question they are nowhere to be found. And i mean every time. I waited for an hour today during the business hours to discuss random charges and had to eventually leave because no one ever showed up. They also cut their phones off so they cannot be contacted. Genuinely the most unhelpful and sketchiest apartment i have ever lived at.

I’m not the type of person to get frustrated and leave a 1-star review. However I firmly believe that this is the only way to get the attention of this complex. This is a last resort. Mine and my wife’s apartment has been completely without air conditioning for nearly 3 days. This week, the average temperature has been near 100 degrees. Our apartment has remained at a consistent 85 degrees. I have placed NUMEROUS work orders in with no response. I have spoken with a member of the office staff twice (the two times of the probably 30 phone call attempts that they pick up) and have been told that someone will be on it. No one has been on it. No one has even reached out. We were told we would be getting a temporary unit. That hasn’t happened. We have had to stay with friends; it’s simply not safe to live in our apartment at the moment. Overall, I have had a decent experience here. But it never fails, even when they say that it’s different: no matter how many management companies they hire, this community will NEVER be run to the level that its residents deserve. If you’re looking for a deal in Downtown Columbia, I highly recommend it. If you’re looking for a staff that even remotely cares about the wellbeing of its residents, stay away. I implore you. We have not signed our lease renewal; at this rate, I am likely not going to.

All staff have been friendly and helpful (when you can reach them), but there is a severe roach problem. Roaches are all over the hallways and in multiple towers. They say they sent an exterminator multiple times but there has been no improvement. More action is needed.

Acasa charged us a late fee even though they didn’t even have their portal for paying rent set up. The trash chute is blocked all the way up to the 6th floor. Dead cockroaches on the floor when I moved in and in the hallways. The elevators are constantly broken.

Acasa Vista Towers is a lovely place to live. I really enjoy the view from my apartment, the great work of the maintenance team, and the location of the property.

I really enjoy living at Acasa Vista Towers. The location is amazing, it is right downtown and close to the interstate. I enjoy my apartment's appliances and the view from my balcony. The pool is beautiful, and the gym is more than adequate. The maintenance team here is by far the best, most efficient team I have experienced. The property manager really cares about the residents who live here. My favorite thing about living here is the sense of community between the residents.

I had a last minute move and they were able to accommodate my move and were very helpful.

Vista towers is very converted to everything in Columbia it’s safe clean and quiet the place to live if your looking for a great place for the right type of money

Other then the lack of pet owners not being diligent cleaning after their pets, my experience its been good.

Love it here! The location is amazing, very close to downtown Columbia as well as any major shopping centers outside of downtown. The community is very friendly and feels very safe. The apartments themselves are well designed and are very spacious.

Vista Towers was #1 on my list of Luxury Apartments in Downtown Columbia SC. Spacious square footage and high quality amenities made my decision super easy. The Encore building is exactly where I desired to be, and my leasing agent Morgan, helped to make this possible!

I lived here for 6 months during a temporary work assignment in the city and it was the worst experience of my life. Had to move out early because while I was gone on a short work trip out of town, some crazy person found her way into my 6th floor unit (which was locked - they were able to check that I had locked the front door before I left due to the key fobs), climbed onto the patio and broke the sliding door - and she then took up residency in my unit. I walked in, suitcase in tow, to find someone all drugged up sleeping in my bed who had gone thru every single item I owned - not even joking, she had laid out every single necklace of mine which were tangled in a box and packed away all my items of clothing into bags and suitcases. Everything was ruined. The police came and arrested her, but the building did absolutely nothing to help. They said the cameras in the building were fake, the door to the building was unlocked the majority of the time and they weren't monitoring the comings and goings. When I said someone had to have been watching me come and go frequently for work, as I traveled very often so I had a vacant apartment often, the building manager completely disregarded me and said he knew everyone in the building. Also when the building manager accompanied me to my unit to check it out, several neighbors asked what was going on and why police were at the building and they heard about a break in - and the manager said oh no that didn't happen to every single person who asked, so he wouldn't even tell them the truth. This place is a disaster. My car got towed in the parking lot despite having a sticker for the building on it. The gate to this so called secure community worked maybe 3 days total of my 6 months there. The front doors to the buildings never were locked or even closed. There was trash in the lobbies and hallways. The entire place smelled musty and like wet dog. This place needs a total revamp and no one should live there until it happens.

I moved to this property after selling my home for a lifestyle change. It's location is walkable or a short drive to the vista and downtown location. Management is responsive to issues and suggestions. I don't own a pet but the property is pet friendly. Pet owners at times need more training! I feel safe here.

After living in 3 different major cities and 6 different apartment complexes, I can confidently say Vista Towers is the best apartment Ive lived in. While the space and amenities may be comparable to other places Ive lived, the staff doesnt even come close. They are far and beyond the best management team you could ask for. Theyre the nicest staff Ive ever had, the most efficient, the quickest with communication, and the most willing to help you. If for no other reason, I would continue living at Vista Towers solely because of how easy the management staff makes living here.

Vista towers has loads of great parking options, however YOU HAVE TO PAY TO PARK HERE in addition to your rent and utilities. There is currently not enough parking for all of the people that live here, leading to a situation where you have to park hundreds of yards away from your entrance and sometimes outside of the gate, And having visitors is a nightmare! It seems like the powers that be are more interested in making a few extra dollars on parking spaces than providing adequate facilities to their tenants.

Great pet friendly apartment complex with a very good deal on 6 month leases (unmatched in this area of Columbia). Very happy I made the decision to live here.

Vista Towers is an excellent place to live no matter if you are a full time worker or student! It's close to everything in Columbia. We have once of the longest and nicest pools in Columbia. All my neighbors are respectful even though they are extremely diverse in culture, religion and age. Great place to live!

I just moved to Vista Towers and I can say that it has been a great experience so far! The apartments are very spacious for the price that you pay, and the amenities are gorgeous! So many common areas! There is ample parking in the back, and the complex is really quiet. So far so good!

Vista Towers is an awesome place to live, and I love my home here. It's very convenient to all my favorite places in The Midlands from downtown Columbia, Irmo, and Chapin. The amenities available and activities offered to residents are wonderful. The communication between staff and residents is very good, and we are kept informed of what's happening at Vista Towers, whether it be something about renovations or a pool party. I love it here!
