About Academy Heights Apartments
SPECIALS: Reduced rent or one month free on our one-bedroom. $500.00 off move in on our two-bedroom units. Academy Heights offers 1- and 2-bedroom apartments and 2-bedroom townhomes! We are located just south of Whole Foods and west of Walmart at the Academy Rd and Wyoming Blvd intersection. We are located on the Wyoming bus line (Route 31) and several walking/running/biking trails are accessible within a 1/4 mile. A spacious city park with tennis courts, basketball courts, and soccer fields is also accessible within a 1/4 mile. APARTMENTS Our 1 and 2-bedroom apartments have very spacious kitchens with ample cabinet storage, three usable living area storage closets, and the 2nd and 3rd floor units have balconies accessed via the living room. Our apartments are all accessed via an interior hallway. TOWNHOMES Our townhomes have very spacious bedrooms and are separated by a full bathroom and a large storage closet. The townhomes also have a fenced patio and a full-size stackable washer and dryer unit. They also have a spacious living room and separate dining area. PET POLICY We have a two-animal limit per unit. There are also weight and breed restrictions. The max weight for our apartments is 40 lbs at full growth and the max weight for our town homes is 80 lbs at full growth. We require all animals to be vaccinated. We require a $150.00 nonrefundable pet fee per pet. We require a $150.00 refundable pet deposit per pet. There is a $20.00 monthly pet rent per pet. Please contact us regarding breed restrictions. AMENITIES Our property offers a year-round heated indoor pool, a fitness center, a dry sauna, and two 24-hour laundry rooms. All are located within our main building. There is also a small dog park with benches and a dogie station, a small playground, and charcoal grills available for use. Property Ratings at Academy Heights Apartments
If we could give no stars, we would. Do not move here! This place has really gone downhill. Ant and roach infestations everywhere, kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom, laundry room, hallways and everywhere outside at night even though they have pest control. We're clean and don't leave food out so that we don't have bugs but still have them anyway. Garbage is in the hallways and everywhere outside. Vehicles have been broken into and stolen over the past five years. There is no gate so anyone can come into the parking lot at any time. The women in the office are not nice and don't take you seriously when you tell them anything so nothing gets done. Neighbors are loud, filthy, and don't respect anyone at all. There is nothing good about living here. Don't make the same mistake we did. Find another place to go! It might seem like a good rent price but you'll regret it like we did. Go somewhere else.
Donna and Misty care about their residents, they're easily the best part of Academy Heights. Apartments are old but spacious, and any time anything went wrong the maintenance was very prompt. I would definitely move back if I return to the area.
If you're considering not renting here because of the one star reviews, I can tell you with almost 100% certainty that the people who left those reviews are the folks who trashed their place and expected the apartment staff to clean up after them for free once they were gone (like 12 year olds). Donna and Misty were always completely upfront with us about everything pertaining to our apartment and were always very gracious in helping us with any requests we had. It sounds a bit unbelievable but every maintenance request I put in was solved within 48 hours. This is also a fantastic place if you have pets. Lots of animal lovers here and Donna is very accommodating and friendly to pets also. When we first came to tour the apartments Donna even took extra time to educate and tell me all about the ups and downs of the apartments before even attempting to sell the place to me to help me make a more informed decision. If you're a RESPONSIBLE Adult or Family looking for a nice place to live at a reasonable price in a great location then I absolutely recommend Academy Heights Apartments.
I have lived here over 10 years and don't plan on moving! The apartment is a nice size and the kitchen is GREAT. I have never had a problem that management did not take care of in a timely manner. I would highly recommend.

I love the apartment lay-out in my one bedroom at Academy Heights. No galley kitchen here. These apartments are comfortable, roomy, and well-maintained by friendly, professional staff. The neighbors are quiet and considerate and the amenities include an indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, laundry, and a park with a playground for little ones. Academy Heights is fairly small compared to other complexes in Albuquerque but i think that is part of what makes it so appealing.
An easy walk across the street to three different grocery stores and two separate mini malls. A large pool and plenty of parking with easy access to your apartment which is furnished with new appliances and an efficient air conditioner. No car, no problem, right on a main bus route which stops just outside your door.
I have lived in these apartments for three years now and only something extremely nice (and probably way out of my budget) would make me move. These apartments are a bit on the old side, but are very well kept and the management does regular updates as residents change out. In addition, because it's an older building there are brick walls, which greatly reduce noise from neighbors. This also helps reduce traffic noise. My favorite part of these apartments is the large kitchen, which is such a rarity! It's wonderful to have the space and still have the rest of the apartment decently sized. Not to mention the rent is actually quite reasonable for the size and location. One of my only complaints is that it's very hard to get a hold of maintenance after hours, even though it is supposed to be 24-hour maintenance. While I have never had any emergencies, a neighbor down the hall flooded their apartment at 3 am and had great difficulties getting a hold of maintenance for help. Overall though, these are good apartments with a good staff.
