West Ashley sits within the city of Charleston and is west of the Ashley River, hence its name, and is the birthplace of Hootie & the Blowfish’s frontman, Darius Rucker. Lined with mossy oaks, the Ashley and Stono Rivers border West Ashley, creating the breathtaking scenery for which Charleston is known. West Ashley residents enjoy close proximity to the area's only indoor mall, the Citadel Mall, and a large number of big-box stores.
Situated seven miles due west of Downtown Charleston, residents can plan on a 15- to 30-minute drive, depending on traffic, to take in all downtown has to offer. Nearby Interstate 526, which feeds directly into Charleston’s Interstate Highway 26, gives residents a fast and easy route in and out of area. Mid- to late-1900s ranch-style homes characterize the housing in outer West Ashley, but neighborhoods built in the 2000s also sprinkle the area.

When I originally came to tour an apartment here, they didn’t have anything available for what I was looking for. A few weeks later Ben reached out letting me know one had come available. I decided to sign a lease sight unseen. It ended up being one of the best decisions of my life. I absolutely love living here. The apartments are clean, and in great condition. Whenever I have had an issue and put in a maintenance request, they always fix my problem so promptly. All the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They have also made several upgrades to the gym (something I utilize daily). The pool is beautiful, and the landscaping always looks amazing. I absolutely love living here and would 100% recommend it!!
I’m a new tenant, today I had several items that needed to be addressed. I spoke to Brian and Michael took care of all my requests today in a professional and quick way. Very friendly and easy to talk to.

We have really enjoyed living here at Abberly West Ashley. From the helpful and friendly staff to the well maintained complex and common areas, Abberly provides you with an ideal environment to live. The maintenance team is always on top of any issues and usually resolves them the day of being notified. The events that the office puts on are also a bonus to living here. Abberly is definitely the best place to live in the West Ashley area!

I’ve lived here for 2 years and am so pleased with the management and maintenance staff! We’ve had some complications not directly related to the complex but they’ve made it work for us and are always quick to respond. Maintenance is extremely quick to address any issues as well. Obviously when you live in close quarters with people, not everything will be perfect but the staff really try to make everything work for you. The events are always really fun and thoughtful as well!

I absolutely love living here! The property has a really great vibe and so many things to love. It's a beautiful place to call home, the location is perfect, and my neighbors are wonderful. Maintenance is always quick to respond, which is a huge plus. Justina in the office is the best—she's so helpful with any issues and is super friendly. The regular community events are so much fun, and who doesn't love a great pool? The gated buildings are also a nice touch for added peace of mind. Seriously, I can't say enough good things about this place! CHEF'S KISS;-)
Management is awful, I didn’t feel any privacy, cockroaches are everywhere. Rent is insanely increasing every year. If you are planning for long period, definitely this is not your place. I really regret it every day and can’t wait for my lease to end. Very bad experience.

I've lived at Abberly West Ashley for almost 10 years, and I've been very pleased living here. Management and staff are excellent and are always friendly and responsive to my needs and requests. Maintenance staff are outstanding! Any problems I've ever had have been addressed the same day. When I've had guests staying with me, they always praise everyone here that they've had contact with in my absence. Abberly is a safe community and is convenient to shopping, restaurants, and medical facilities.

I signed a 10 month lease and I have had an incredible experience here. I am sad to be moving away from such an amazing community, but I have to relocate for work. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Abberly. The staff and maintenance team are so nice and helpful. Eli has been such a great help throughout my whole experience. The pool is beautiful and the property always has fun events like pool parties to meet other neighbors. It is also pet friendly which is a major plus. If I am ever in the Charleston area again I will definitely move back here. I love it here so much. I do not know what I will miss more the giant shower tubs or the huge walk in closet.

Couldn't say enough good things about living here! From every single maintenance worker saying hi every time we see them, every single staff member being kind and responsive and taking the time to learn our names, to the grounds and amenities-- we have loved calling Abberly home for the past 3+ years. You'd be hard pressed to beat this price for the location, too. Close to so many things, but also feels private. Great pool, sidewalks, community events and above and beyond maintenance services!

I relocated for work and had to find something quick. Something affordable. Somewhere safe. In a great quite neighborhood. Close to my job. Abberly at West Ashley was great the entire processing have everything I wanted. Great amenities, great area, and they have elevators! So moving in on the second floor wasn't a nightmare.
I visited this community recently on my trip to Charleston. I still am waiting for the job offer to finalize, but I went to see this apartment. The staff was very accommodating. The grounds ,pool, and are look very nice and clean. It looks like somewhere I would want to live.
My apartment still seems brand new and I love the location. Really convenient to everything i need...especially Costco!!!
