Nestled in a quiet urban forest neighborhood with easy access to city life, Pinecone Cottage is only minutes from Downtown, OHSU, Multnomah Village, Lewis & Clark College, Beaverton, Tigard, & Lake Oswego. The property: A private woodland garden of maples and ferns greets you upon arrival at Pinecone Cottage. Large sliding glass doors open to a sunny view of the garden, while the kitchen window reveals a spacious backyard with views of distant hills. The shared lawn and large patio space provide comfortable outdoor seating equipped with a hammock, grill, and dining table directly from the back door of Pinecone Cottage. While some parts of the yard are shared, Pinecone Cottage offers a very private setting both indoors and out. The neighborhood: Resting in an eclectic quiet neighborhood of mid-century ranch homes, nature parks with walking trails link neighborhood streets to parks and community centers. Multnomah Village is a 40 min walk or 15 min bike ride away for brunch, coffee, dinning, drinks, and shopping. In the opposite direction, the Barbur Transit center park and ride and World Foods International Grocery store (Lebanese pizza is a MUST TRY) are only a mile away. Other popular recommendations for food and fun include the Maplewood Cafe, Multnomah Village Cart Pod, Hillsdale Farmers Market, Tryon Creek State Park, and many more unique locations to discover. Living spaces: Beautifully decorated with both modern and curated vintage decor, the living room and kitchen provide comfortable seating, a work space, and full kitchen (dishwasher included). The cozy bedroom nook is raised with extra storage located behind the dressers. Additional storage is found in the hallway closet and cupboard along with a washer/dryer. Towels and bedding are provided along with cleaning supplies and the well-insulated space provides both heat and air conditioning. Utilities Included: Internet is included along with all other utilities and off street parking with a Level 2 EV charging station. Maintenance: The owner provides landscape maintenance for the whole property including private and shared garden spaces. Help with garden maintenance is welcome but not required or expected. If you find pulling weeds or getting your hands in the soil therapeutic, garden chores can be provided. History: Originally a garage for Maple House, Pinecone Cottage was completed as an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in 2023. Contractors, friends and family collaborated with the owner of the property to complete the project. Its history is one of community and creativity. Sustainability: The converted garage includes a number of sustainable features including locally sourced and repurposed materials. The kitchen counter is sustainably sourced Oregon big leaf maple. The bathroom door, from a reused from a local historic Portland home, the garden pavers recycled brick and log rounds from a maple and cherry tree recently felled on the property due to declining health. Efficient appliances and ductless heating and cooling units as well as LED lighting are also part of the home’s design.
