Extremely Noisy Building with Outdated Construction – Not Worth the Rent
I've lived in this 10-unit apartment complex in West Allis for over 10 years, and while the location might seem convenient, the day-to-day reality of living here is frustrating—especially if you're someone who values peace and quiet. The biggest issue is the constant noise. The building has very old, thin walls and windows, so almost everything from inside and outside makes its way into your unit. I can hear people entering and exiting the building, conversations in the hallway, cabinets closing, and even footsteps from the apartment above me like they're in the same room. It’s not just an occasional disruption—it’s every day and night. Impact noise from upstairs, including during quiet hours (after 9 PM and before 7 AM), has been so bad that it's disrupted my sleep regularly. To make things worse, the windows don’t insulate anything, so you're stuck listening to road noise from National Ave and the nearby freeway 24/7. Combine that with creaky floors, a total lack of soundproofing, and no modern upgrades, and it becomes very clear this building wasn't built with tenant comfort in mind. Utilities (electricity, gas, water) are shared across all units, which could be fine—except there’s zero transparency from management about usage or cost breakdown unless you dig into it yourself. Shared water heating and laundry power are tacked onto your rent indirectly, so you end up paying for more than just your own consumption. Bottom line: this place is not worth what you're paying for. Between the constant noise, old infrastructure, and general lack of modern amenities, I can’t recommend it to anyone looking for a restful, private living situation.
