The management will lead you on when you are first signing but do not believe them. Everything in your apartment will be constantly breaking down and it will take months to get it fixed. When you are moving out they will try to force ridiculous charges on you and you will find yourself regretting that you ever even spoke to the pitiful, sad people working in the 927 West Morgan management.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. The office and management company have no consideration or care for their residents. Dog urine and poop cover the inside hallways regularly. Dog’s peeing off balconies and front office does nothing. MOLD is a huge issue! I had a broken stove for an entire month. A homeless man was found sleeping on the couch in the front office area for weeks. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!

The rent is very reasonable but the amenities and general upkeep of the property are disappointing. I am often embarrassed when I bring friends over and am walking through the hallways of chipped paint everywhere, stained carpet, and bad smells. Every day when I go into the parking garage I am greeted with cigarette buds and trash overflowing from the garbage cans. The whole place needs a makeover in my opinion, inside and out. New paint job (not the cheap kind).

I unfortunately do not recommend living at 927 at all. There are plenty of places within the same price range that would be a much better experience. The facility and amenities were nice; however, it seemed that they were constantly closed/broken/under construction. The hallways were consistently dirty with an unpleasant odor. Management treated me poorly and was rude and dismissive throughout my living experience. Upon move-out I asked for a signed copy of my move-out form showing that I turned in my keys (a pretty simple, common request). Management quite literally rolled their eyes at me and shut the door in my face upon presenting me with the signed copy. It’s very disappointing to be disrespected at the place you’re supposed to call home.

Please do not live in these apartments under any circumstances. The buildings are full of black mold that grows out of the vents and management will not fix the problems. It took SIX MONTHS for maintenance to finally come look at the mold in my apartment after submitting a request. I finally had to call the office to get them to come after I noticed mold growing on my personal belongings in multiple rooms. I was not told a single thing once they started working on my apartment. I even asked the worker from the outside company that they hired if he could tell me what was done and I was told that he would be fired for telling me anything. I requested to see the invoices from the outside company and was given nothing. I emailed, called, and even went in person to speak to management multiple times after the work was done and was still not given any information. I was not told if the mold was tested or what was done to treat the problem. All I know is that the vents were cleaned and now about a month later the mold is already visibly growing back in multiple rooms. My dog and I have both developed health issues since living in this apartment after only a few months. I now have to find another living situation to keep us safe when I planned on living in this apartment for a few years until I finish graduate school in the area. Management does not seem to want to take responsibility for the problems in their buildings, even when it puts the residents at risk. After reading other reviews about residents having mold issues, I am only more disappointed in the ways that management is handling these situations. Please do not live in these apartments if you care about your health and safety.

I am not usually one to write reviews but I cannot let this slide. DO NOT LIVE HERE! We have had persistent, moisture, ventilation problems, and water leaks that lead to mold! Despite multiple maintenance requests (over the course of a year!) the leasing office failed to address the root cause of the mold, allowing it to grow out of control. The mold became so bad that I had to throw away a lot of my personal belongings. I have experienced RASHES on my face and body from the mold exposure and my boyfriend has developed a terrible cough. Every time we brought it up to management they would shift the blame to some other cause, never fixing the problems or testing the mold strain or air quality like we asked. We even got expert analysis of the mold and they still did not take it seriously, telling us "mold is just in the air naturally". This complex looks nice from the outside but it is NOT worth the money, the management is terrible and the building is not a healthy living environment. Take your money elsewhere!

I would like to note a few details regarding your statements, as the situation has also raised concerns on our end. We take mold issues very seriously, as they can pose potential health issues and damage our property.On 03/22/2019, I had a conversation with your roommate. From the quote cited in your review, I am concerned that the conversation was not relayed to you correctly. While I did explain that mold tests can be misleading, as mold spores are present in most environments, the comment was not made dismissively. “Is sampling for mold needed? In most cases, if visible mold growth is present, sampling is unnecessary. Since no EPA or other federal limits have been set for mold or mold spores, sampling cannot be used to check a building's compliance with federal mold standards.” - www.epa.gov/mold/mold-testing-or-sampling“Molds are part of the natural environment, and can be found everywhere, indoors and outdoors. Mold is not usually a problem, unless it begins growing indoors. The best way to control mold growth is to control moisture.”- https://www.epa.gov/moldAs outlined in your lease contract, it is your obligation to keep the apartment clean and well ventilated so as not to encourage the growth of mold or mildew. On 11/11/2018, you complained that warm air was not circulating to the bedrooms. The maintenance team explained that the thermostat only reads the temperature of the air in the immediate vicinity. You expressed that you did not want to turn up the temperature because you didn’t like the temperature in the living room to exceed 68 degrees. As keeping the thermostat set this low would not allow the system to warm the bedrooms, the maintenance team requested that you leave the bedroom doors open to allow air flow into the rooms. On 12/03/2018, you reported mildew around the window in your master bathroom. My maintenance team explained to you that this was the result of inadequate ventilation in the room. They reiterated what they had previously explained regarding the importance of air flow throughout your apartment, especially in bathrooms where showers create warm, moist air. On 01/14/2019, you submitted another complaint about the bedrooms not heating properly. Despite everything that you had previously been advised to do, the maintenance team arrived to find all the doors in the apartment closed and the thermostat set to 68 degrees. The thermostat was working properly, as it had been on all previous occasions. You were, yet again, advised to turn the thermostat up to a higher temperature and open the bedroom doors for proper air circulation. On 1/22/2019, you reported mold in your master bathroom cabinet and drawers. The maintenance team inspected the room for signs of water intrusion. The only issue found was a small water line leak beneath your sink, which was repaired immediately. The growth was identified as surface mold and treated, in accordance with EPA recommendations when treating an area that is less than 10x10 square feet. We left a dehumidifier in the apartment for several days, as a precaution. The unit was checked 7 times over the course of 9 days. Each time, the maintenance team noted that the door to the area was closed, despite their insistence that the area be allowed proper air circulation. On the 9th day, the area was tested with a moisture meter to ensure dryness and no mold was visible. We heard nothing else from you or your roommate until 03/22/2019. At this time, I inspected your apartment with my maintenance manager. I noted the presence of mold on the walls, along with stains from what was clearly condensation from showering with inadequate ventilation. In addition, the metal fixtures had excessive amounts of rust, which is also an indicator of high humidity in the room. I will not disagree that your apartment had moisture and ventilation issues. I do, however, disagree with your statement that we never fixed the problems. We responded to every request for service and found all HVAC systems to be operating normally. We identified one minor leak, that could not have resulted in the amount of moisture in your bathroom, which was repaired immediately. We fulfilled all legal and contractual obligations and made you aware of yours.
927 West Morgan is the most affordable on the luxury apartment scene near downtown Raleigh. It offers all the amenities you want and many floor plans to fit your needs. It's a short walk to NC State, great food, and shopping at Cameron Village making it the best bang for your buck. Every month management posts a month of activities to do - both in the area and ones put on by the apartment for the residents with free food, entertainment, and drinks.
I like 927 West Morgan, because for the most part the residents are all within my age group (twenty-something year old professionals). It is also very close to downtown, but the walk there is a little longer than i'd like. If you work in RTP the drive is roughly 25 -45 minutes each day depending on traffic.
927 West Morgan is well suited for professionals and college students that are looking for an easy commute to many of the large companies and universities in the area. The building location embodies a strong sense of work-life balance with shops, restaurants, parks, and night life being only a short walk, bike ride, or cheap Uber away. The suburban landscaping, friendly vibes from local stores, and helpful staff makes you feel close to the community without giving up privacy and square-footage that comes with other apartments located in the city's center. Apartment features salt water pools, a dog park,free exercise classes, and trash pick-up to make everything a little more convenient.
