Frederickson is a large neighborhood located about 17 miles south of Downtown Tacoma. Frederickson is known as an industrial hub and has several warehouses and business parks, but the majority of the area is underdeveloped and wooded. Frederickson’s rental options are located near the outer borders of the neighborhood and there are a variety of moderately-priced to upscale apartments, houses, and townhomes available for rent.
The neighborhood also has several parks and trails for residents to enjoy the natural beauty Washington is known for. Both Mount Rainier and Mount Olympia are short distances away to the west, and Mount Rainier National Park provides incredible hiking, mountain climbing, and camping opportunities. Joint Base Lewis-McChord is located directly west of Frederickson, making this neighborhood a popular choice for those who work at the base.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
