While almost completely surrounded by sprawling Omaha, Ralston is a separate city dating back to 1907. The location explains the city's motto, "The Heart of the Metro." Ralston is roughly five miles southwest of Downtown Omaha, making apartments in Ralston ideal for commuters. Some of the city's attractions include the Ralston Arena, home to the USHL Omaha Lancers hockey team as well as the NBLA Omaha Chargers.
