About This Home
I have a lovely home in the saught after Fairhaven neighborhood, that will be available for rent March 1st for sure, possibly mid February. It is a two story, 1800 sq. ft. home with 3 bedrooms, an office and 2 baths. The original home was built in 1896, but home was extensively remodled in 2007-2009. It features polished cement floors downstairs with radiant floor heat. Both the water and floor heat is powered by an energy efficient on- demand gas water heater. It also has a wood stove. The kitchen appliances are all 1-3 years old and the home includes a top of the line washer and dryer. There is a shed in the front for bike/ garden storage as wel as pull in parking in front, shared with the DADU. Charming Fairhaven historic district is in it's backyard. It is adjacent to the interurban trail, which connects to miles of trails in the Chuckanuts, and Marine Park and Bellingham Bay are withineasy walking distance. My partner and I live in a DADU, or small (850 sq. ft.) home in the back yard of the house for rent, so are looking for tenants who would enjoy the communal aspects of this set up, though also have our own privacy. Pets on case by case basis. This is a non- smoking property. Rent is $3000/ month with a year lease.
819 Donovan Ave is a house located in Whatcom County and the 98225 ZIP Code.

Fairhaven, a National Historic District, began as Fairhaven Village around 1880. It is located along Bellingham Bay on the southwest side of Western Washington University. Fairhaven is a terrific location for boaters, home to San Jan Cruises, Zodiac Sailing Schooner, and the Fairhaven Shipyard. Marine Park, located on the bay, includes a picnic area and a beach for launching kayaks. The Lower Padden Creek and Larrabee Trail leads from the park, through Fairhaven, and toward Larrabee State Park.
With its Victorian architecture, art galleries and boutiques, restaurants, pubs, and cafes, Fairhaven is a charming, fun-filled, walkable district. Fairhaven holds events year-round, including the Polar Bear Plunge at Birch Bay in January, the Recreation Northwest Expo in February, the Spring Craft & Antique Show in March, Bellingham Beer Week in April, to the Bellingham Festival of Music and the Northwest Raspberry Festival in July.
