About This Home
This bungalow duplex in the historic Duckpond Neighborhood is shaded by a giant 150-year-old oak tree and is located four blocks from the duck pond on NE Boulevard. The west apartment is available on August 1st. The sun won’t glare into the bedroom as you try to sleep in the morning, but it will welcome you home in the afternoon. The apartment has a big front porch, central heat and air conditioning, and ceiling fans in every room. It has one main bedroom and a smaller room that can be used for an office. The living room and bedroom are wallpapered. The hallway has a walk-in closet with a closet rod and shelves. There is a second closet in the hall with shelves for towels and linens. An additional closet is found in both the bedroom and office. The washer and dryer on the back porch are for your use only. The backyard is huge, but shady, so it may be hard to garden in it. Parking is off the street in the driveway. Tenants pay for all the utilities. Dogs are not allowed, and only two cats are allowed for $20 a month for each cat, and an extra $100 security deposit for each cat. Please ask for floor plans. Smoking is NOT allowed in the house or on the property. You must pay the first month’s rent of $1100, the last month’s rent of $1100, and the $800 security deposit for a total of $3000 at the lease signing. If you have a cat, you will also pay an additional $140 at the time of the lease signing, or $280, if you have two cats. Please tell me something about yourself, why you are moving, when you will need the apartment, and what times you are available to see it.

Every day in Downtown Gainesville is a party -- partly because of the great weather and fantastic pubs -- but also because it is next to the University of Florida. The downtown area invites residents and visitors to get out and walk or bike, with wide sidewalks, dedicated bike lanes, and even "fun bikes" -- bikes that seat 17 people around a bar, so it looks more like a party bus with a lot of pedals. Downtown Gainesville hosts a variety of walking tours, pub crawls, and restaurant tours.
Of course, every party needs music, and Downtown Gainesville offers plenty of that, as well. A variety of nightclubs include outdoor stages for local bands, and Bo Diddly Plaza offers everything from blue grass to jazz to R&B. Watch a show at the legendary Hippodrome Theatre or see a concert at the Florida Theatre. Downtown Gainesville hosts a variety of festivals and events, from the farmer's market held in Bo Diddly Plaza to the Downtown Festival & Art Show.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
