Choose from mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, boating, hunting and white water rafting. Golf is almost as popular at Seven Springs as snow skiing. A spectacular 18-hole golf course stands majestically atop the Laurel Mountains offering breathtaking views of the countryside. Anyone who enjoys a good game of golf will love spending time on this course. Dozens of other golf courses are also found in the surrounding area. Although you could spend days happily at Seven Springs and never run out of things to do, the other areas of the Laurel Highlands region offer a lot for visitors, as well. Over a dozen state parks are here – including Laurel Summit State park which is a popular scenic area at an elevation of 2,739 feet with a breathtaking view of Laurel Ridge. A short drive takes you to Conemaugh River Lake and Crooked Creek Lake, which both offer fishing, boating, canoeing, hiking and hunting. The Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail is a 70-mile hiking and backpacking trail that follows Laurel Ridge from the Youghiogheny River at Ohiopyle to the Conemaugh Gorge near Johnstown. It's open year round and there are eight overnight shelter areas along the trail. If you are not athletically inclined and thinking Seven Springs might not be for you – think again. The area is a cultural and historical banquet. Visit historical sites going back to the French & Indian War, visit a museum or explore and photograph the dozen beautiful covered bridges in the area. The Laurel Highlands is a shopper's paradise – overflowing with antique stores, arts & crafts, outlets, magnificent malls, and unique finds – even old fashioned general stores. When you get hungry, you'll find everything from fast food to fine dining in the Seven Springs region. This is a jam-packed area of recreation and sightseeing for everyone and one of the most diverse regions found in the East. While many activities are free of charge, please contact 7 Springs resort or the other places mentioned above for pricing.
