Property Ratings at 739 Garland Ave
Cheap and good location. Literally everything else about this site is a slum tenament with completely incompetent management. Bug problems, maintinence problems, plumbing problems, cleanliness issues, theft problems, security issues (no security, broke CCTV and homeless sneaking in).
Honestly this place besides the bad reviews, has been pretty okay. I’m on the top floor so def would recommend that otherwise my neighbor has complained of hearing me stomp. I hear noises in the hallway rarely but other than that I don’t hear anything at all. The management is super nice and friendly. I enjoy my place. Quiet and just reasonable for the price. Yes I’ve seen like a cockroach once or twice but it’s la. The management is usually quick to get on it and honestly just keep your place clean and you’ll be fine. Also the units with bathrooms are just way better but my friend said it’s not bad living without one.
Loud creaking ceiling will make you lose sleep at irregular hours. (12am, 5am) Neighbors upstairs drop and drag heavy things. Running and stomping doesn't help either. The managers will try and 'talk' but it's just talking. Neighbors won't be considerate.
It's cheap. It's poorly constructed, which means large cracks between the floor and baseboards, which means roaches and mice. Don't expect the landlord to do anything about it either. It's hard enough to get in contact and when you do, they never follow through. I wish a review like this had been here before I signed the lease.
Absolutely great location here at the garland apartments. Staff is super helpful. Utilities are included which is amazing. Claudia is super helpful, the property manager, going thru a remodel the place will look great in no time.
