The hilly and wooded neighborhood of Eastlake sits at the base of Ruffner Mountain – a spectacular backdrop to an already scenic community. Eastlake is roughly five miles northwest of Downtown Birmingham, and commuters can easily reach the city center in less than 15 minutes via 1st Avenue or I-20. Also along 1st Avenue, the neighborhood’s northern border, you’ll find a variety of shops and restaurants.

East Lake Park includes the large lake, the East Lake Park Public Swimming Pool, tennis courts, and a jogging path around the lake. Ruffner Mountain provides additional hiking trails, including one to Hawk’s View Overlook, a picture-perfect spot with terrific views of the city. In addition to having both mountain and lake, Eastlake is close to several golf courses, including Roebuck Golf Course. And for frequent travelers, Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is only a few minutes from Eastlake.
