Property Ratings at 702 S Oak St
Apartment is severely outdated, maintenance is a complete joke; we had 2 broken stairs for close to two months after writing 2 emergency maintenance requests. I had a newborn baby that I was scared to take down the broken stairs with. Had my blinds replaced, only for them to fall down on my head in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. Water damage to my bedroom ceiling. Coin laundry is a huge joke as well. Overcharged for doing your laundry, one of the washers leak and the dryers don't dry very well. You pay for EVERYTHING through something called RUBS. The low rent seems like a great deal, but you'll end up paying quite a bit more than you would expect. You have two separate avista bills to pay every month. One for the entire complex split down the middle, the other for your unit. Tweakers like to go mess with the cars in the parking lot, and are constantly going through dumpsters and leaving trash everywhere. Landlord doesn't even live in town, I've been moved out two months and have still not received the amount of deposit agreed upon. Now she wants me to pay a 35 dollar fee to get my check sent back out after giving my address to her TWICE. Both summers I was there, there were giant wasp nests outside our bedroom windows. Our complex did not come with screens in our windows either. Also, in winter time expect to de-ice your own stairs, because maintenance is lazy as hell. My nephews slipped down a flight of stairs because of all the ice. I wouldn't let anyone I know live in this complex. Landlord is CHEAP and is more concerned in making bank off tenants than providing a safe and updated apartment building. I would seriously look for somewhere else to live if you're looking at these apartments.
There's only one parking spot per apartment. The building is run down and old. If you're on the lower floors there's bugs everywhere. Top floor leaks into middle floors quite a bit. You have homeless people in the alleyway and the parking lot 9 times out of 10. Landlord lives so far out of town she never wants to come to town, and when she does you are the one who made the problem, not that the apartments are so old that they are falling apart. Smoke free building is a lie. Everyone smokes. Just take a look around there's butts all over. And most everyone has animals. Rent goes up quite a bit, don't trust what it says online. Very poor apartments, people there are loud, and rude landlord. I would suggest finding anywhere else. Not worth the time or money.
